In some places, the stream is a constant source of energy and playfulness; in other places, it is
peaceful and calming, inviting you to soak in its beauty. The forest offers a vast array of plants,
and signs of wildlife are everywhere.

Some of our more intrepid guests arrive on mountain bikes. With advance notice we may be able to help make arrangements for pickups from Amtrak in Cumberland, MD or from the Washington DC area. There is a full range of amenities, but no air conditioning--because in the mountains, we never need it! The high temperature during the day is usually below 80, and rarely gets above 85, at which time the house will be 10 degrees cooler. No recycled, "conditioned" air needed--you get to breath pure mountain air all the time!
