The SpaceThis listing is for "Hazel's Suite."
"Hazel's Suite" is decorated with 30's-40's era bedroom set that belonged to Hazel's sister. There is a comfortable, firm, queen size bed, a TV in the room, room darkening shades and many other amenities. The room has a bathroom ensuite, shower only.
There is also a mini "closet-kitchen," complete with full sized refrigerator, microwave and Mini Keurig and coffees. We use the refrigerator for "extras," but there will be plenty of space for YOUR needs... Or we will MAKE it! :-)
If there are one to five additional travelers in your group, we have the ideal accommodations. Book two or three of the listings and make yourself at home or book the entire house.
Located about halfway between Morgantown and Fairmont, our location is perfect for visitors to either WVU or FSU, and Morgantown sporting/community events. Either town, Fairmont or Morgantown, can be accessed in 15 minutes and this is perfect lodging for Mountaineer football and basketball fans as well as Black Bear fans.
Restaurants can be accessed in either of these two cities.
With easy on/off access, and we are a perfect stop for Canadian travelers heading to FL, as well as any other I-79 travelers!
FOOTBALL WEEKEND POLICIES
We will require a minimum two night stay up until Monday before the scheduled football game and on Tuesday, we will book one night requests. If you definitely only want one night, please check back with us Monday before the game!
We hope that this change in policy will help more Mountaineer fans find reasonable accommodations. Guest AccessKitchen with sitting area and TV

Forty-five wooded acres to explore and view wildlife. Interaction with GuestsWe are flexible. We would be happy to spend some time with you, but certainly plan to give you your privacy. Hazel's Suite has nearly all you need...with refrigerator, microwave and coffee, but you are most welcome to come out of your room and enjoy the house and grounds.
However, please do not venture to the lower level which is a private apartment, or the loft area unless you have booked that area. The NeighborhoodThis is a safe and secure rural setting and there are few neighbors within sight. Our one close neighbor, across the drive, is enjoying raising chickens so you might hear a "cluck" or two. THAT should get you in the country mood. Fortunately, there are no roosters, however, so that should not be an issue.
Don't be surprised to see deer and wild turkey from the kitchen windows. Getting AroundYou definitely need your own transportation. If you need a ride from and to the airport for a simple one evening stay, we may be able to arrange that for a flat $30 cash fee.
Traveling nurses find this convenient to Monongalia General and WVU Ruby Hospitals in Morgantown as well as United Hospital Center in Bridgeport. Room Darkening shades and secluded area of the house allow for peaceful daytime sleep for those on night shift. Other Things to NoteWe have had a taxidermy student, as well as hunters living here and you can expect to see mounted deer in the home. If that is going to be a problem, please consider other lodging.
We also have an indoor/mostly outdoor cat that wanders our home...EXCEPT FOR "Hazel's Suite" and "Serenity Stay Room." We keep those rooms off limits to her.
We can keep Molly outdoors while you are visiting if there is a concern, especially if there is a guest staying in the loft area.
While we are just about 2.5 miles from the I-79 interchange, the last half mile is lovingly called "bumpy," so you can consider it an authentic WV experience.
Our Wi-Fi Internet is provided by the local phone service, and admittedly, is slow and intermittent. We DO, however, get reasonable service from our cell service provider, AT&T.
ATTENTION WVU FOOTBALL/BASKETBALL FANS!
If you are a group of 4 or 5 attending a WVU game, these quarters would be ideal. (Two bedrooms, a Loft and 2 1/2 Bath!)
We now require a minimum two night stay on football weekends and the details are in "The Space" section. Please note: Closer to game day, we will consider one night requests.
You can escape the downtown congestion and traffic and will be close to I-79 and I-68 when you are ready to head back home. It's just 15 minutes to Morgantown using either the Interstate or the back roads. We can advise on how to navigate on game day!
