We are 5 minutes from Wyalusing State Park and 15 minutes from Prairie du Chien. I will share the cabin's last review dated July 25th here. Thank you Sharon and family! - "It's all true. All the compliments I'd read about Kathy & her cabin before making this choice are well deserved. Our little family reunion enjoyed the ideal environment for lasting special memories. The setting felt remote & private whereby we could delight in nature right out our door, sitting on the deck in the eve, watching the moon rise, while being entertained by twinkling fireflies as their cicada cousins harmonized in the nearby woods. A different night, by the campfire, our ears perked to the sounds of coyotes, cows, goats & even a donkey who had a brief solo part in the performance.. all treasures for our senses as we caught up on family conversation. On the flip side of nature on yet another eve after a hot, steamy day, we witnessed the stillness give way to a rush of wind stirring the trees off in the distance, the sound intensified as we watched the force bend the trees nearer & nearer until pelting rains forced us to slip through the patio doors into cool comfort. Sweet deal! Our days found us at nearby Wyalusing hiking the trails that'd been inaccessible during a previous visit - Wow, the Treasure Cave! Or kayaking the peaceful backwaters spotting 3 eagles tolerating us as we paddled ever closer. The Iowa parks claimed several hours of our time too with a beauty & history all their own. After day trips to the parks or visiting sites in PDC we refreshed & renewed back at the cabin, a beautiful, amazing & unique structure which was far more spacious than expected & with comforts way beyond necessities. A place Kathy made us truly feel was our home away from home!" July 1-4, 2016 Writing in the Cabin Journal-"Wow-the first word that comes to mind about this cabin. You have a true gem here. Sitting on the deck in the AM with coffee or in the late afternoon with and adult beverage was so quiet, peaceful and relaxing. The cabin was decorated so beautifully and loved the little knick knacks to set it off. We ate all dozen eggs from 'the girls'. We haven't eaten that many in the last month!" July 14-17, 2016 Writing in the cabin journal-"Mrs. Kathy, I think I speak for all of us when I say this place is amazing. It's such a beautiful cabin that just feels so welcoming. Impressed with the beautiful "twin falls" waterfalls with soothing trickle! Didn't see the TV on once. Thanks!" I will share a review from August 5, 2015: "Amazing! Totally comfortable! Spotless! Beautiful! Heavenly! You have a real gem here! This cabin, not so little(!), is spectacular! (Note all the exclamations...that's how we felt here!) This was the perfect place for us to unwind...brings new meaning to R&R. We thank you so much for your wonderful and warm hospitality! We will definitely spread the word back in Milwaukee... We wish you all nothing but good health and beautiful days...With many thanks. P.S. Looooved seeing your beautiful animals! Opening on August 29th 2014, our two bedroom custom built log cabin is 10 years old and nestled in the bluffs near Wyalusing State Park. This is not an 'Amish' cabin like most of the rentals are. Our cabin is one of a kind. It is secluded on the edge of the woods but close to civilization. Though we also have our home on the 40 acre property, the cabin is on a private lane, secluded and peaceful. The Bagley Cabin is a clean and comfortable cabin where you will find the relaxation that you long for in a peaceful, natural, park like setting. It is very simply furnished, not high end style, but I think you'll find it very charming. I wanted it to have the home-like feel of an old Northwoods cabin in the woods- a back to the basics feel. The main floor has an open floor plan with the kitchen to the west and the living room toward the east. The cabin has many sets of windows and patio doors that open to a deck. The bathroom with tub and shower is on this floor. This log cabin is 5 minutes from Wyalusing State Park and not more than 10 minutes from Wyalusing Beach and the boat landings either at Wyalusing or Bagley. If you need a little more contact with the outside world, we are about 12 minutes from Prairie du Chien and 20 minutes from the shops in Marquette or Mcgregor. Like I mentioned, our cabin is very clean and comfortable, which I make my priority. It is nestled in the trees and from the windows in the open kitchen and living area you will be able to watch deer, turkeys and birds. The cabin has a furnished kitchen so you can do your grocery shopping before you get here and settle in for a few days. A TV, (no cable), and DVD player are in the living room area with a selection of movies for those that would just like to curl up on the couch and enjoy the solitude. There are plenty of blankets and pillows in the living room for nesting. The bedrooms are in the lower level which are a stairway away from the bathroom. There is a sofa sleeper on the main floor for those who wish to have a bathroom on their sleeping level. Both of the bedrooms downstairs have queen beds. This quiet cabin in the woods is just the place to get a welcome rest. We want you to feel right at home and sleep peacefully in our log cabin. There is a campfire ring where you could relax with a fire in the evening. We will provide the wood for your 'campfires' but PLEASE, NO 'Bonfires' in the firepit. It's very possible if you're quiet you will see deer stroll through the woods as the sun goes down. We keep a horse and pony, a few sheep, some chickens and a couple barn cats on our little acreage. I would be happy to share some farm fresh eggs for your breakfast. Our cabin would be a great place to make your home base for a relaxing vacation in the Bagley, Wyalusing, Prairie du Chien, Marquette, McGregor, Lancaster, Fennimore and surrounding areas. ***Like 'A Bagley Cabin In The Woods' on Facebook*** *Non Smoking Property 100% refund for cancellations more than 14 days before check-in date 50% refund for cancellations more than 7 days before check-in date We do ask that you please not invite outside guests to the cabin during your stay without prior authorization from the owner.
