The SpaceYou are in a completely private setting. Nearby snowmobile trails with plenty of woods and water for hiking, skiing, canoeing or kayaking. Guest AccessThe full cabin. Interaction with GuestsAs much as guests prefer. We do not live in the area so need a little time to ensure guests have what they may need during their stay. The NeighborhoodThe privacy, the beautiful wooded area, the friendly and helpful neighbors. Nearby amenities include groceries and hardware, local bars and plenty of trails and waterways. Getting AroundAccess to property limited so be prepared to travel over frozen river in the winter or by watercraft in the summer. Other Things to NoteThe cabin is remote and accessible by canoe, row boat or kayak in the summer. In the winter, we walk over the ice or snowshoe or ski in to the property. There is no running water so plan to bring in a few supplies. Truly for people who like to rough it and like an experience that is unique. We love it and know you will. And we're city folks!

The SpaceThis is an executive rental, located on the James Slough of the world famous Chippewa Flowage. Available year round, this is one of the best rentals on the water. The lake house was built in 2004, and has 2,000 sq. feet of rustic elegance. It has direct lake access with a pier, 3 bedrooms, 3 bathrooms, a finished basement complete with game room, is equipped with satellite tv, and has a 600 sq. foot deck overlooking the water. The Chippewa Flowage is Wisconsin's 3rd largest lake, and is 90% undeveloped. Fishing for Musky, Bass, Walleye, and Northern is very popular here. The world record Musky was caught on the Flowage in 1940, and remains to this day as the largest Musky ever caught. A replica of this musky is displayed in the house. Hiking, snowmobiling, and a number of other activities are within 5-10 minutes from the house. Fishing off the pier is great, with many pan fish nearby. For a true wilderness experience it is hard to beat the Flowage, and even harder to beat this rental.

This home is located in a heavily forested private location with access to the 17,000 acre Chippewa Flowage from both Kavanaugh Bay and the Sisko's Resort Bay. The Flowage is known for big muskies as well as walleye, crappies, and bass. Enjoy your day swimming, fishing, boating, or simply relaxing by the campfire. In winter, the home is close to hundreds of miles of snowmobile trails and is between Hayward and Cable for those who ski in the Birkiebeiner x-country ski race. Welcome to Hay Creek Cabin, a beautiful, comfy, year-round cabin located on the northeast side of the world-famous Chippewa Flowage, a sprawling, 15,000-acre lake with more than 140 islands (Wisconsin’s third largest inland lake). This three-bedroom, three-bath cabin (or cottage as we say in Wisconsin) is located on a secluded, wooded, two-acre lakeshore lot facing west, offering spectacular views of the setting sun and water from the cabin’s deck or dock. The cabin is located on Hay Creek, a slow, winding river that is part of the Chippewa Flowage, which is known as the home to the current world-record musky caught by Louis Spray many years ago (for those in the know, the Big Chip also is known for its exceptional walleye, smallmouth bass, largemouth bass and crappie fishing, too). The lake offers numerous campsites and is surrounded by the Chequamegan National Forest, making it feel like you're up in Canada (very few houses on the lake). Hay Creek Cabin is just minutes to miles and miles of groomed snowmobile trails, cross- country ski trails (including the world famous Birkebeiner Trail), mountain biking trails (single track and the Birkie Trail), and deer, bear, wild turkey and ruffed grouse hunting. Hay Creek is a comfortable, 2,500-square foot lake home where you can hang with the guys after a great day of fishing, hunting or mountain biking; enjoy a long Women's Weekend retreat with your girlfriends; or get cozy with your sweetheart after a day on one of the many x-country skiing trails. Hay Creek Cabin features a fully equipped gourmet kitchen (Wolf gas range/oven, Sub-Zero refrigerator, Dacor microwave), lower level wet bar/microwave, washer and dryer, AC, stereo system (with CD collection), TV/DVD player (with movie collection), telephone (free long distance), two gas fireplaces (upstairs/downstairs), two charcoal grills (Weber and Green Egg), firepit and free Wi-Fi high-speed internet service. The cabin offers a contemporary yet cozy feel with knotty pine walls and cabin-style furniture and decorations. Our guests may use, free-of-charge, a 17-foot Old Town Penobscot canoe, four kayaks, and adult and kids mountain bikes. Our 30-foot long boat dock is the perfect spot to park your boat for the weekend (electricity at the dock), and it is only 300-yards away from the Hay Creek boat landing. Nearby Attractions: Hay Creek Cabin is located near several northwoods restaurants, such as the Original Famous Dave's, the Robin's Nest (great for breakfast), the Chippewa Inn and Dunrovin Lodge. It’s also within minutes of two bait and tackle shops, and nearby marinas (to rent a boat, pontoon or jet ski for the weekend). For golfers, there's the nearby Big Fish Golf Club (public access), and for those who like to challenge themselves at the slots and blackjack tables, the LCO Casino is just 10 minutes away.
