For your enjoyment, there is an oak barrel planted with fresh lettuce and spinach, tomatoes and squash will come later in the growing season. Guest AccessThe only areas blocked to guests access is: the closet in Office room, which is locked, the cabinet underneath the 8 foot cherry window seat, and a locked garden shed in a partially finished room in basement with the owners personal property. Interaction with GuestsSusan, a Wyoming historian/anthropologist/writer/Master Gardener will greet you on arrival and take you through the house. She can be reached by phone or text, and Gina, by text, if you wanted additional housekeeping services or grocery shopping done (both an additional cost) during your stay. If I am not out of the country, you will also be able to reach me at any time by cell phone or text and the house Manual will have a contact list of plumber, electrician, and carpenter who are all familiar with the house. The NeighborhoodYou are one block from the Historic Governor's Mansion built on purpose in a middle class neighborhood back in 1905. The Capitol was begun in 1886 and completer in 1890. Don't miss the State Museum and gift store for fun Wyoming souvenirs. You can research WY history at the State Archives. The hospital has a great cafeteria open to the public and only 2 blocks way. For conversation with locals, there is a Starbucks only three blocks away. There is live music on the Plaza (10 blocks away) on Friday nights and most nights during Frontier Days. Getting AroundTaxis are available, but you must call them. Other Things to NoteIn addition to the historic sites of the Capital City, don't miss exploring the prairie. Native American Indian sacred Vedauwoo - a vision quest site for many tribes is only 30 minutes away. In the winter there is skiing at the Snowy Range Ski and Recreation Area 73 miles away - also beautiful in spring, summer, and fall! You will find some of my photographs of these locations throughout the house. Laramie with the University is 50 miles away. Centennial, began as a worksite camp for building the First Transcontinental Railroad, then became a gold mining camp; so name in honor of the 100th year anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence. During the summer, you might want want to drive on the Centennial Road (closes during the winter) over to Saratoga and soak in the thermal hot springs.
