Phillips Ridge sits like the aerie of an eagle high atop a rocky ridge overlooking Jackson Hole. Below, the wide valley rolls away for miles upon miles. A long driveway, bordered by streams and shadowy forest, winds its way up to the house, a magnificent Western lodge, a magical combination of wood, solid stone and ethereal glass. Palatial, sumptuous, and filled with splendid works of art, Phillips Ridge begins with a two-story, light-filled entryway. Thick log walls and tree trunk supports contrast with fine antiques and soft, rich fabrics. The living and dining areas are divided by a massive two-sided stone fireplace and illuminated by a 35-foot-high wall of windows. French doors open to a backdrop of dark green firs and pale aspen, separate seating areas face the fire and the panorama outside. Painter Bo Bartlett created a huge, stunning canvas in oil called "Goddess" spanning an entire wall, it creates as vivid an opening of perspective as do the soaring windows. The grand kitchen at Phillips Ridge is fit for a professional chef. Its centerpiece is a large gas range set like a medieval hearth inside a hammered copper and stone alcove. A flat-screen television, hidden inside the stone countertop, rises and swivels at the touch of a button, and can be seen from the cooking area, the long, built-in breakfast banquet, and the dining room. A stone-topped island separates the kitchen from the dining room, where the long table, overhung by an antler chandelier, seats ten. A rustic staircase, with a cast bronze twig-and-branch handrail by sculptor W. Tom Ellicker, curves majestically up both sides of the front entryway. A second-story walkway crosses the big open space over the living room and leads to the sleeping quarters. Each of the five bedrooms at Phillips Ridge is a master suite, filled with light from the high, copper-framed windows, decorated with bold furnishings and textured fabrics. Each has its own stone fireplace, with hand-crafted cast iron and glass doors. The deep wilderness beyond the bedroom windows, and the lacy green woods or mountains capped in snow provide a satisfying contrast to the comfort and luxury within. Thick log walls, tree-trunk beams and patterned bedspreads make the spacious bedrooms snug and cabin-like. Each one has a hand-built bed with reading lights positioned at either side. Each also has a decadent private bath with double sinks and big soaking tubs, two of which are shaped like oval bowls of polished stone. Some of the bathrooms have stone fireplaces. Glass-walled, rainfall showers and wide windows create the illusion of bathing al fresco. French doors in the bedrooms open to private terraces or branch-framed porches. The forest runs right up to the house on one side, bringing with it the cool spicy air of the pines. Rich, muted oriental carpets cover the heated floors of the bedrooms, and wall-mounted, flat screen televisions face each of the beds, while beyond every window is an extraordinary panorama of forest, mountains and sky. Phillips Ridge is an Eden for both vigorous adventure and quiet reflection, indoors and out. The entire eastern side of the house is encircled by a long stone terrace that is almost a home in itself. An outdoor dining area is set next to a large fire pit. Farther along are sitting areas, trap shooting stands and a hot tub. Back inside, a cosmic, two-lane bowling alley, a gorgeous bar room with tufted leather couch, and a casual pub with a billiards table make a day of rain most welcome. On the lower floor, the lodge also has a state-of-the-art, Weider fitness center, a movie theater that seats twelve in deep leather armchairs, and a truly fabulous indoor hot tub, a grotto modeled on the Grand Prismatic Spring in Yellowstone National Park. Ringed with mosaic stone mountains and a painted firmament of blue, it provides the ultimate conclusion or commencement to the day. Phillips Ridge is fronted by a low stone wall and a three acre pond that reflects the sky like a mirror. A waterfall splashes merrily down a cascade of stones, and then winds its way under the driveway and around the house and can be turned off and on as desired. Stone bridges cross the small, pebbly pond created by the stream. Out on the terrace, the running water provides a light and constant music to morning coffee or evening cocktails as it passes by on its way to the dark green woods a favorite haunt for moose and down to one of the three private ponds teaming with cutthroat trout. One could spend hours exploring the interesting corners, wonderful details and tremendous works of art inside the house, but Phillips Ridge is also the perfect launching pad for skiing, snowshoeing, hiking, biking, fishing, swimming or canoeing in the pond, and day trips into wonderful Jackson. And despite its high luxury and fine art, Phillips Ridge is completely child and dog friendly. It is a spectacular property, the overture to an unforgettable Wyoming vacation. Very private location on over 90 acres with sweeping views of Gros Ventre Mountains, Sleeping Indian and town buttes. The pond on property is stocked with trout and Fish Creek runs through the property with available fishing. Big Sky is a striking, Western Arts-and-Crafts-style home that stands on a carpet of green lawn and golden grasses within the great bowl of the mountains. Overhead, the sky is very big indeed, an endless, weightless blue from horizon to horizon. Big Sky, rugged and handsome, is truly in its glory in summer and early fall. The air smells of sagebrush and pine, the rivers run swift and clear and a nearby bike path will take you to the shops and restaurants of Wilson and all the way into Teton Village. Dogs are as welcome at Big Sky as their owners – the house has its own canine courtyard connected to an indoor dog room by a pet-sized door, and a special dog-wash area in the two-car garage. But Big Sky was, without a doubt, built for people, for it is everything a house should be: comfortable and spacious, welcoming, warm, and utterly lovely, with glowing colors, rich fabrics and high quality furnishings and art in every room. While to the west, nothing stands between Big Sky and the great, rolling valley floor, to the east is a lovely house called Sundance. For an extended family gathering or group of friends, the two houses – far enough apart for privacy but close enough to form a compound – taken together make for a very grand vacation indeed. Big Sky’s location is just about perfect – right smack in the middle of nature in all its splendor, with world-class hiking and fishing galore, and yet close to the flat, easy bike path, the funky restaurants and markets of Wilson and the best dancing in all of Jackson at the Stagecoach on Sunday nights…. Prairies End is a weathered, 200-year-old barn that was moved from Ontario and converted to a dazzling, airy house with the lofty aura of a church. It faces north toward the Tetons, and inside, sun gilds the smooth heart pine floors. The massive, rough-hewn barn beams are like the pillars and trusses of a rustic cathedral. The heart of the house is a long, two story great room, anchored on each end by a wood-burning stone fireplace and a sitting area; the dining table occupies the center. Huge twig chandeliers hang from the high wood ceiling. The kitchen, with a Wolf four-burner gas range, is beside the great room. A covered porch and open deck extend from the kitchens French doors for outdoor dining, entertaining and the simple enjoyment of the extravagant view. Prairies End feels both old and modern, rustic and luxurious; it is a house full of color and light. There are leather couches, saffron walls, rural antiques, rough wood wainscoting, vivid oil paintings and striking sculptures. A bridge crosses the open space of the great room and connects the two sides of the top floor. A first-floor library has a fireplace, a game table, walls of wooden bookshelves and an office that has a view of The Grand, while upstairs is a smaller, well-equipped office. In the master bedroom, a king size bed is perfectly placed allowing views of The Grand and ski slopes; a soft leather armchair and ottoman wait beside the gas fireplace. The splendid stone-floored master bathroom has a three-headed rainfall shower, a jetted tub and double sinks. There are three guest bedrooms and a sleeping loft inside the main house of Prairies End. One handsome guest room is on the ground floor; the queen size four-poster bed is spread with a hand-blocked quilt and has a private bath. An old grandfather clock marks the hours with a mellow chime. The upstairs guest bedroom has a queen bed, and its own bathroom as well. The loft used for hay storage long ago is now a warm and welcoming room set high in the house, with twin beds, a pull-out couch and a television. Tucked in beside Prairies End is a romantic 1850s, one-bedroom cabin transported to its spectacular spot from West Virginia. The little cabin seems rooted in its grassy setting, and looks out far over the long green valley to the Tetons. The guest cabin is entirely up-to-date, with a full bath upstairs, and a sitting area with a wood stove downstairs next to a tidy little kitchen. A path leads back to the main house from the cabin; and from there, the grand panorama of Jackson Hole stretches away. Moose, coyote, elk, eagle and fox cross the great valley, mountains skim the big starry sky. There are endless opportunities for skiing, snowshoeing, hiking, and fishing around Prairies End, and the vibrant town of Jackson is just a short drive away. The approach to Riversong leads through a copse of firs and aspen; at first view the house appears understated but it opens up grandly in back to embrace the heart-stopping view. From Riversongs stone terrace, the eye is drawn past the velvety lawn and its apron of wild grasses, along a long, weathered buck and rail fence that curves down the sage-covered hillside, and across the wide valley to the vast upward slope of the mountains. The Snake River runs through the valley like a blue satin ribbon; and from Riversong you can hear it flow. The river runs as a theme through the house, as well: its rounded stones, tumbled along the river bottom for centuries, form Riversongs graceful hearths and chimneys. Walls of knotty pine in the living room chinked with mortar and burnished a glowing, mellow amber make the house feel as warm and friendly as fishing cabin. In every room, big plate glass widows follow the ceiling as high as they can go; the clear light and the Wyoming panorama outside pour in. A mullioned door leads out to the deck. A pair of soft leather couches the rich brown of an old copper penny face each other in front of the living room fire while a rams head looks on from above. In the dining room, upholstered chairs surround a dark wood table, and overhead, two antler chandeliers a nod to the pioneer traditions of Wyoming illuminate the room. The open kitchen and family room, divided by a stone-topped bar and workspace, share a second river stone fireplace. This is the comfortable heart of the house, a space for conversation, cocktails, cooking, relaxing. Oil paintings in gilded frames hang on the walls; the dining area opens out just behind the sofa, and a door leads to the terrace, the picnic tables and the grill. Another Riversong hub, the rec room, waits on the second floor. Here a sturdy wood pool table, a tv, a keyboard, computer station, cocktail table and soft carpeting underfoot create a fine, congenial gathering spot. The master suite is a big airy room warmed by a wood-burning stone fireplace. An elegant wood king-sized bed rests under a vaulted ceiling supported by thick wood beams. A glass door beside the massive picture window leads to a wood-railed balcony. The master suite has two bathrooms, one with a deep oval soaking tub topped by corner windows that look out over the Snake River, and a separate shower. Also on Riversongs top floor is a large guest bedroom. Here a big, rustic log bed gussied up with a pretty spread and a dust ruffle faces a window filled with aspen trees, and their round, whispering leaves tint the guest room walls green in summer and gold in fall. A decadent bathroom has a soaking tub and separate shower, double sinks, and a band of mirrors that reflects the swaying treetops outside the windows. Riversong has three guest rooms on the ground floor: two are grouped about the downstairs living area where a fireplace, a flat-screen tv and a deeply comfortable sitting area wait. Both are simple, quiet bedrooms with private baths; each has a queen bed and a door to the terrace, hot tub and lawn. The final bedroom is a grand slam of a sleeping area a wonderful rustic bunkroom that can sleep six and has two bathrooms of its own, a galley kitchen and a door to the lawn. The bunk beds, built of dark stained wood with the bark left on, surround a huge sectional couch in traditional blue denim that could sleep two or three more on its own. The bunkroom is a hideout of sorts; it is not connected to the rest of the lower floor, but has its own staircase up to the service corridor making it all the more appealing to young visitors. Outside, the air is filled with the rivers song and the high country breeze. The raised wood decks, the stonewalled terrace and the wide lawn are outfitted with cushioned, latticed wood chairs and chaises so that life can be lived, as much as possible, out-of-doors. The big hot tub is an inviting locus on a cold and starry night. Riversong is set in an outstanding location for journeys into the wilderness or into Jackson, both are equally easy to get to. The fly fishing, of course, is sublime from Riversongs door you can head for the river, where lives the cutthroat trout unique to the wide, swift-running Snake. In winter the vast landscape of white unfurling out from Riversongs backyard invites a whole host of snowy adventures, and some of the worlds best and most challenging skiing is just minutes away. Riversong is indeed a song of a house, a stronghold of warmth and welcome in a very, very beautiful world. Perched above the Snake River with outstanding views of the Teton Range.

***Property is only available to rent once per every 30 days. *** Shoshone Lodge is a handsome, gabled home in a spacious residential neighborhood just south of Jackson. A beautiful flat yard fringed by wild grasses aprons the house. This luxury Jackson Hole vacation rental feels wonderfully private and very grand, a small castle hidden in a copse of slender aspens. Shoshone Lodge’s arched front door opens into a two-story foyer, where a peeled log staircase curves up and away and an elk antler chandelier hangs from the double height ceiling. Straight ahead is the vaulted great room, which sets the tone of rustic opulence continued throughout the house. A massive, magnificent stone fireplace is fronted by a high-backed leather loveseat and chairs; the carved wood mantelpiece, giant candlesticks, and towering tree trunk supports all add to the air of western majesty. In the dining area, six upholstered chairs surround a polished table, and ornate draperies hang from branches. A stone-floored butler’s pantry adjoins the room. The office, as sophisticated and comfortable as Sherlock Holmes’ study, is just off the foyer. Leather armchairs and a fringed ottoman stand upon a zebra rug. Light from the stone fireplace flickers across the built-in bookcases and the window seat. The wide desk offers ample space to work; and the windowed door may be closed for quiet and privacy. The family room – a regal space in its own right - links the great room and the kitchen. Warm and welcoming in the extreme, deep leather sofas and hide-trimmed club chairs face a tall stone fireplace. A bay of huge windows frames the pretty yard. A flat screen television is mounted in a tall cabinet; doors close to hide the television when not in use. Shoshone Lodge’s luxurious, stone-floored kitchen has a huge center island topped in gleaming granite. Upholstered stools offer a perch for conversing with the family chef, sampling hors d’oeuvres and spreading out the morning paper. French doors beside the breakfast table open to the patio. A stone-framed door off of the great room leads to the master bedroom, a big, carpeted room with a high vaulted ceiling. A dramatic king size bed, with a red leather coverlet and piles of plush pillows, faces a chateau-style fireplace. The flat screen television mounted in a corner of the room can be seen from the bed and the sitting area as well. The centerpiece of the master bathroom is the great, circular jetted tub, big enough for two, flanked by matching vanities. There is also a separate shower and a walk-in closet. Shoshone Lodge has four grand guest bedrooms, all on the second floor of the property, connected by a loft-like walkway and small sitting area over the great room. Each bedroom is supremely comfortable, with soft carpeting, a big bed, a place to sit, and western décor. The first guest room has French doors leading to a private deck, and a walk-through closet, which leads to an en suite bathroom. A small anteroom makes an ideal, separate-but-connected spot for a crib. The second guest room has a king bed flanked by matching side tables, leather-shaded antler lamps and a pair of beautiful equine paintings. This room shares a bathroom with the upstairs game room. The third and fourth guest bedrooms both have queen beds, closets, and private bathrooms. Shoshone Lodge’s truly fabulous recreation room and home movie theater wait above the three-car garage. This is possibly the most popular spot in the house, a playroom for all ages, with a full size pool table, a game table, a stocked bar, deep couch, television, an ice cream freezer and even a cotton candy spinner. Double doors open to the home theater, where big, leather recliners face a simply enormous flat screen television, and a popcorn machine stands at the ready. Heavy drapes block the sun, and a state of the art sound system makes watching a movie as much experience as entertainment. A wide stone patio extends off of the back Shoshone Lodge, edged by a low stone wall. Adirondack chairs look out toward the shallow, smooth-running creek – a perfect stream for wading, exploring, collecting smooth rocks to be painted. There is a gas grill and an outdoor dining table on the patio for whiling away the long, golden summer nights of Jackson Hole, and a hot tub fine for any season and just about any weather. Shoshone Lodge is only ten minutes from downtown Jackson, right in the middle of everything and yet in a quiet, leafy realm of its owns. Shoshone Lodge is located in Indian Trails, just South of the town of Jackson.
