The SpaceOur lovely home was built in 1940 and still has much of the original construction. It is a bi-level home...2 bedrooms/bath with shower/kitchen/living room and deck upstairs and reading room/family room/ 1 bedroom and bathroom downstairs. If you have more than 2 in your party, the separate levels create a true sense of privacy making it difficult to know that there are others in the home! We are 4 miles from Red Rocks Amphitheater (which is AMAZING!!) and historic Morrison. We are located off the road so please be advised that there will be some traffic noise. We live equally as close and don't find it a bother... I just don't like to give the impression that we are in the middle of nowhere! There is a creek side walking/hiking path within walking distance of the house. We are also 11 miles from Evergreen which offers more advanced hiking and biking. We have done our best to provide all the comforts of home: spices, TV, Wi-Fi, etc....but we don't offer air conditioning or a hair dryer, so please bring one if you need it! If AC is a way of life for you, please consider this before you book with us. We do have both portable fans and ceiling fans. It may warm up in the day but always cools down at night...that's the Rockies! Light rail is accessible in Golden which is approximately a 15 m drive. Ideldale is 4 m West of Morrison. From Morrison, you can access I-70, C-470 and 6th Ave quite easily. Guest AccessThe entire home is yours! The NeighborhoodMy husband always says that people take vacation time from work to come and visit where we live...that's a humbling thought! Getting AroundLight rail is accessable in Golden which is approximately a 15m drive. Ideldale is 4m West of Morrison. From Morrison, you can access I-70, C-470 and 6th Ave quite easily.

The NeighborhoodI am an outdoor enthusiast who enjoys hiking, mountain biking and pretty much anything that gives me an excuse to be outside. I built my home eight years ago with the idea that I wanted a secluded retreat that had a spa like feel. I wanted to be within minutes of people, shopping and great restaurants but I wanted to feel like I was million miles away. I hope my guest will come relax, sit around the fire pit, tell stories, enjoy the hot tub, take in the magnificent views, and use the space as if it were their own. Getting AroundUber and Lyft Other Things to NoteOnly Verizon and Sprint work in this area. Weekly rate does not apply to holidays. This is a mountain house which means it's subject to severe weather conditions such as rain, snow, and ice. The house is located on the top of a mountain which means we have a long driveway which switchbacks up the mountain. Please keep in mind that during winter months it may be difficult to keep up with snow removal. During winter months a 4 wheel drive vehicle is highly recommended. We are on our own septic system. Be mindful of the amount of paper products you flush. Having a sustainable water and sewage system is environmentally friendly but we are not attached to city water/sewage so please try to be extra attentive not to flush something that cannot easily biodegrade. Removing items that clog the system will be the responsibility of the tenant.

Other Things to NotePlease note: Verizon wireless has perfect service at the house, AT&T has limited service. I'm working on getting an AT&T extender to the house but in the mean time to get good service with that provider you'd have to drive 5 mins towards Kittridge.

The SpaceRelaxing at our cabin is a truly wonderful experience! Surrounded by the awe inspiring beauty of the Rocky Mountains, our cabin showcases the unique craftsmanship of early settlers looking to strike it rich in the Colorado Rockies. Our cabin is surrounded by some of Denver's best hiking and mountain bike trails. There is a trail for everyone in the nearby Lair O' the Bear Park which is a favorite of ours to host large parties and picnics as they have great group spots right along the river. Our cabin offers easy access to world class fly fishing and kayaking in the Bear Creek (three minutes away) and Clear Creek (15 minutes away). Our cabin also offers easy access to some of the most legendary rock climbing in the world. Some of our favorites climbing areas are Clear Creek Canyon, North Table Mountain, Boulder Canyon, and Eldorado Canyon. Our cabin is 10 minutes off of I-70 offering easy access to both skiing and Denver International Airport. In the summer, soft breezes fill the cabin with the sweet smell of ponderosa pine and fresh air. Humming birds buzz through the garden and red-tailed hawks circle way over head. Herds of elk frequently visit our yard and watching these amazing animals grazing up close is an experience that never looses its gravity. Fall in the Rocky Mountains is absolutely amazing and our cabin offers a front row seat to the changing colors of the aspen trees. In the winter, our cabin is super warm and cozy, and is the perfect spot to spend time with family and friends. Hanging out by the fireplace after skiing is one of our favorite things to do in winter. Guest AccessWe live on property in the backyard in another building that is separate from the cabin. You might see us walking up the driveway to our cars with our dogs, but we won't disturb you. Guests have access to the cabin, front/back patios, and a side yard. LIVING ROOM: Guests are welcome to use the gas fireplace, but please turn it off when you are not using it. KITCHEN: Guests are welcome to use plates, bowls, cups, utensils, wine glasses etc. -Fridge/freezer, crockpot, espresso machine, toaster. -Spices and some basic ingredients (sugar, flour, olive oil, etc.) SIDE YARD: Guests are welcome to use a small side yard that has a nice view of Bear Creek Canyon. There are a few camping chairs for guests to use. FRONT/BACK PATIO: Guests are welcome to use both the front and back patios. LAUNDRY: Guests are welcome to use the laundry. Our cabin is old and the septic tank can only handle biodegradable detergent and hot water. We have detergent for guests to use. No bleaches or fabric softeners. Interaction with GuestsWe live on property with our dogs, but we are separate from the cabin and won't disturb you. While we really enjoy hosting and meeting our guests, we also respect our guests' space. We are glad to chat and give recommendations, but otherwise guests are likely to see little of us. We have two dogs that are friendly that you may see in the backyard, but it's likely you won't see us much at all. The NeighborhoodWe love being in the foothills. We love being close to Red Rocks. We love being close to trails and nature. Our neighborhood has lots of character and history stemming from the late 1800s when Idledale and Morrison were thriving during the Gold Rush. There is a historic cattle ranch north of our neighborhood that is always breathtaking.

Built in the 1920s, the home has been lovingly remodeled to a very high standard while retaining the beautiful original stone fireplaces and chimneys. Inside the front door is a laundry area with a washer and dryer that opens to the kitchen. The cozy, romantic kitchen and living area look out on to a small deck that in turn overlooks Bear Creek, where you can see heron, beavers, and other wildlife. The master bedroom and its ensuite bathroom are on the opposite side of the living area from the guest bedroom and bathroom. A short walk down the street there is an entrance to Lair o' the Bear park, and Red Rocks amphitheater is only a few minutes drive away. This is a perfect place for a romantic weekend, a concert experience, or just to enjoy the nearby outdoor activities.
