The neighbours are very friendly, but large trees on the property provide a secluded atmosphere. Downtown Barrie, which has a great marina, restaurants, and shops, is only ten minutes away. The place is only 40 minutes from Toronto if you feel like taking a trip into the city. Though the cottage is close to anything you might need or want, the main draw is the property and lake itself. Getting AroundThe property has a large driveway with parking space for a number of cars. The best way to get to the cottage is by car but the GO train and public transport system run daily to and around Innisfil and Barrie. The Barrie GO Train station is 5 minutes from the cottage and Pearson Airport is a 45 minute drive. Other Things to NoteWe only rent the cottage weekly, monthly, or yearly. Thanks!

Get away on Lake Simcoe! This waterfront cottage is located at prestigious Big Bay Point on Lake Simcoe and is just 20 minutes from downtown Barrie. The cottage is located in a private setting with a golf course on one side and Lake Simcoe on the other. You take a private tree lined road to the cottage and arrive at the 1200 square foot cottage, which provides spectacular views overlooking the sparkling waters of Lake Simcoe's Kempenfelt Bay. The sunsets are some of the nicest in Ontario. The kitchen is well equipped with a fridge/freezer, stove, oven, microwave, dishwasher, and more. The dining table easily seats ten and there is a chalkboard where you can keep track of your 'places to see & things to do' or keep score for your evening board/card games. The breakfast and its two high stools is the perfect spot to sip your morning coffee. In the living room there are large bright windows, comfortable furniture, and a patio door leading to the rear deck. There is a gas fireplace at the cottage too so you can keep you toasty on cool evenings in the spring and fall. The cottage has three bedrooms - two of the rooms each have a queen bed while the third bedroom has two singles. The bathroom is a four-piece with tub/shower, and there is also a washer and dryer available for your laundry needs. Out on the deck there is a propane BBQ for your outdoor grilling, and a patio table with umbrella and six chairs. Alcona is a friendly and close knit beach community that offers all the advantage of being at the beach and beautiful Lake Simcoe, along with the benefits of having grocery stores, coffee shops, a liquor store, lunch and breakfast places all close-by. You can even enjoy drop-in yoga sessions right on the beach directly across the street from the cabin every Sunday morning @ 9am through to early November! Being so close to the lake and park means opportunities to enjoy nature and your surroundings year-round. While summer brings crowds of sun-worshipping families, October brings a quiet time for meditation and walks along a gorgeous lake, surrounded by fall colours. Winter brings another influx of adventurers who love to spend weekends ice fishing, skiing or snowmobiling, while the spring brings cyclists, walkers and joggers ready to stretch their limbs after a long winter. The best part about this place is that it is conveniently nestled in an incredible region known as Simcoe County. Simcoe County is a wonderful place to explore year-round. In summer there are the exquisite lakes, of course, and you can find beaches in Innisfil Beach Park, along Barrie's waterfront, or you can venture further to explore Balm or Wasaga Beaches, for example. The NeighborhoodThe cabin is located in the Alcona section of town Town of Innisfil. Alcona is a friendly and close knit beach community that offers all the advantage of being at the beach and beautiful Lake Simcoe, along with the benefits of having grocery stores, coffee shops, a liquor store, lunch and breakfast places all close-by. You can even enjoy drop-in yoga sessions right on the beach directly across the street from the cabin every Sunday morning @ 9am through to early November! Being so close to the lake and park means opportunities to enjoy nature and your surroundings year-round. While summer brings crowds of sun-worshipping families, October brings a quiet time for meditation and walks along a gorgeous lake, surrounded by fall colours. Winter brings another influx of adventurers who love to spend weekends ice fishing, skiing or snowmobiling, while the spring brings cyclists, walkers and joggers ready to stretch their limbs after a long winter. The best part about this place is that it is conveniently nestled in an incredible region known as Simcoe County. Simcoe County is a wonderful place to explore year-round. In summer there are the exquisite lakes, of course, and you can find beaches in Innisfil Beach Park, along Barrie's waterfront, or you can venture further to explore Balm or Wasaga Beaches, for example. The county is dotted with great fishing spots and you can rent a fishing boat or pontoon within ten minutes of the cabin. Simcoe county is also a great agricultural hub, with a vast array of farmer's markets and every kind of farm from honey producers to organic apple orchards. Golfers have their pick of pristine courses throughout the area, including Innisbrook Golf Course, Big Bay Point and Innisfil Creek Golf Club. If you enjoy fast cars you can check out the Sunset Speedway, you can dune buggy or mini golf at Shanty Bay or go hot air ballooning with the Barrie Flying Club!
