Getting AroundYour in luck-public transportation/the bus stop is right in front of the house. The Iowa City bus runs everyday except Sundays.

At my place it's all about providing guest with an enjoyable stay. The NeighborhoodBeautiful neighborhood with wide sidewalks and lovely homes dotted with tall trees and friendly faces. Getting AroundPublic transportation is two blocks over ( 1 minute walk). There is a free shuttle bus provided by Iowa City that stops 3 times per hour. Very convenient.

The SpaceThe apartment has one bedroom with a Queen bed. I also own a queen size air bed with ample space in the living room to sleep so apartment can comfortably sleep 4. Apartment features 2 walk out balconies, one off living room and one off bathroom. Guest will have access to all apartment amenities. Living room, kitchen, bathroom, bedroom, apartment also has a washer and dryer available at the end of the hallway. Tennant will not be present during your stay. Apartment is within very close walking distance to downtown Iowa City. Downtown Iowa City features great shopping, restaurants, bars and entertainment. Public Transit located just blocks from apartment. Ramp located across the street for convenient parking. Apartment building is generally pretty quiet. Located above a small business in the heart of downtown Iowa City. Building houses 2 other tenants in separate one bedroom apartments. Guest AccessGuest will have access to all apartment amenities. The SpaceThis quaint detached single-family home has wood floors, central air and heating, and a screened in porch. Full-size kitchen with a gas stove, fridge, microwave, plenty of counter space, and all the kitchen appliances you'll need. Bathroom has a full shower and bathtub. The bedroom has a full bed (sleeps 2) and large closet. Large office with a desk and comfy chair. Living room has an extreme comfy love seat and two chairs, television, vcd, dvd, and Roku with Netflix. Spacious front and backyard with a grill. The basement has a washer and dryer. The house is across the street from a lovely park with a playground, basketball court, and picnic tables. The house is less than 5 minutes from the Foxhead, John's Grocery, George's, Blue Bird, and High Ground Coffee. You are less than a 10 minute walk from the Pedestrian Mall and the University of Iowa Campus. Guest AccessYou will have access to the whole house and all its amenities. I won't be around for your stay, but I can easily be reached by phone or text. I'm more than happy to give you a local's tips on where to eat, drink, shop, and explore.

The SpaceThis is a lovely old home with character in an Iowa City Historic District. The newer kitchen addition has a vaulted ceiling and large south facing windows. The bedrooms are light and airy. Stained glass original to the house. Studio in rear of property with massage and yoga available specific times. Gardens all around. Wooded area. Guest AccessKey will be provided. Plenty of parking. Bedrooms are on the second floor. Guests will have access to the entire house except the master bedroom. Room for storing guests' food will be provided in fridge and cupboard. Wireless internet available. Two Bicycles available. Interaction with GuestsEveryone is encouraged to come and go as they wish without ceremony. Whenever possible, guests will be greeted upon arrival. Guests are encouraged to arrive before 8:00 p.m. (Exceptions considered). The NeighborhoodThis neighborhood is full of beautiful old Victorian homes and is in an Iowa City Historic District. The cul-de-sac is unpaved, discouraging outside traffic and keeping the area quiet. Seven blocks from downtown, Prairie Lights bookstore and New Pioneer Grocery. Ten blocks from campus. Pleasant neighborhood stroll to many nice restaurants within a mile -- Motley Cow, Brix, Northside Bistro, Atlas, Basta, NODO, and several nice breakfast cafes -- The Blue Bird Cafe, Hamburg Inn II. Getting AroundPublic transport -- bus route nearby. Free University Cambus in downtown IC. Downtown & campus are both within walking distance. There is an airport shuttle; also car rental from Cedar Rapids airport. Uber is in Iowa City. We have two bicycles for our guests--outfitted with lights and helmets. It's a great way to get around town, see the sights and avoid parking hassles. Other Things to NoteWireless internet, two bathrooms (one upstairs, one downstairs), back deck overlooking the garden. We have an upright piano for those guests who can play. Instant boiling hot water dispenser for tea and coffee. Washer and dryer. Geothermally heated and cooled. The house was built in 1878 and added onto in 1997 -- modern kitchen and sky lights in the modern back parts of the house. Extensive library. Front screened porch with porch swing.

The SpaceOur home comfortably sleeps 10 and is furnished with top of the line furniture and breath-taking views of the Iowa River. The home was built in 2013 and features the look of a Grand Colonial on the outside with a modern layout and furnishings on the inside. It features 4 bedrooms and baths, two balconies, a gas grill, two fireplaces, two flatscreen tvs, a furnished kitchen, and a walkout basement featuring air hockey, electronic basketball, an exercise bike and more. We are also located on a river walking path and three blocks from a park with frisbee golf. Guests can also enjoy the new Apres wine and bistro bar located one block away. Guest AccessGuests have full access to the entire home. Interaction with GuestsEllen is easily accessible to guests if needs arise during your stay. The NeighborhoodThe Peninsula Neighborhood was built as a walkable community adjacent to trails, a dog park, a community playground and gazebo as well as easy access to downtown Iowa City. Getting AroundThere is a bus that stops a block and half from our home which runs to downtown Iowa City. Other Things to NoteOne thing we like to make clear to people who would like to rent our home is that we do have a dog and a cat who lives with us. At the time of your stay they will not be a part of the rental package (sorry animal lovers!) - both will leave with us. We always clean the house thoroughly before your stay but if you have severe alleges to pets, this might not be the best place for you.

The SpaceBeautiful, mid century modern apt. is downstairs w private entrance. Designed in 1946, built in 47, by/for Henry Fisk, Iowa City's only architect from 1945-60. This was Fisk's family home and the downstairs had a large 'rec' room which is now your sitting area with fireplace, vintage record player, table, chairs and couch. Large windows and lots of light. Small bar area with sink, microwave, bar fridge and coffeemaker. Newly installed bathroom with shower. Bedroom in what was Henry's architectural home studio. Queen size bed with small couches, dresser, desk and chair. Walls are very unique wood, including rare, vintage sand-blasted plywood. Coffeemaker and robust coffee provided. Guest AccessGuests have access to laundry, if needed. Home is very quiet--with concrete floors, and in-floor radiant heat. Interaction with GuestsWe will be there to greet you and get you oriented to the house, local restaurants, or whatever you may need. (We are available anytime, as we live upstairs). The NeighborhoodNeighborhood is Manville Heights, which is directly North of the hospital campus, West of the Iowa River. An old, very wooded neighborhood of beautiful homes from Victorian to Colonial to Prairie Style to Mid Century Modern. Walking distance of 15 minutes to downtown and downtown campus. Getting AroundPark your car here. Catch the free Cambus a few blocks away, ride a bike or walk to hospital, law school, dental building, Kinnick Stadium, Fieldhouse, campus or downtown Other Things to Note10 minute walk to UI Carver Hospital, Kinnick, Fieldhouse, Dental School or Law School. With two parlors (living rooms) a kitchen, dining room, library, sunroom, ladies salon and orchestra room, there are many options for sitting, dining, reading, and all forms of relaxation. During their stay, guests can enjoy books from the library as well as use of the kitchen for cooking and adjoining dining room. If laundry washing is needed, there is also access to the washer and dryer. Andrea is available to support her guests as much as they need during their stay. There is also the option of renting a room in 'Bed and Breakfast' style for a lesser rate. Please inquire specifically about this option. The Northside district is the most desired area in Iowa City for living and staying because of its direct proximity to the heart of Iowa City's shopping and dining area. The Emma Harvat house is located on Davenport street, with some of the city's best restaurants on the very next block including Motley Cow, Linn Street Cafe, and Devotay. The best brunch in town is at the Bluebird cafe, only steps away, and on the next block, pizza lovers can watch through the window as the Iowa City's best pizza is made before their eyes at Pagliai's. The SpaceThe house was built in 1924 for Emma Harvat, voted in just months after women's suffrage and succeeding in giving the first woman in our nation a position as mayor over a town 10,000+. The home has only had three owners in almost 100 years and has been lovingly cared for. It featured all original woodwork, lights, tile and fixtures. Guests enjoy use of the library, sunroom, orchestra solarium, and parlors, all filled with nooks for reading and relaxation. Interaction with GuestsHostess and proprietor Andrea Wilson is director of a literary non-profit in Iowa's City of Literature. She is dedicated to ensuring her guests have a special experience from the moment they arrive. Personal touches in the house abound as do stories of previous guests, many of whom are famed writers. The NeighborhoodThe Northside neighborhood is historical and beautiful and the Emma Harvat House sits in prime location right beside Linn Street which houses all of the dining, shops and cocktail bars. Other Things to NoteAdditional services such as airport pickup and transportation can be arranged for a fee, as well as full concierge services including restaurant reservations.

The SpaceThis furnished one bedroom, one bath is easy walking or biking distance to the University of Iowa for Hawkeye football, basketball, wrestling, and more. The carriage house is fully furnished and features a full kitchen, DirecTV, and WIFI. Free, on-street parking is readily available and the bus line is two blocks away and runs every 30 minutes to nearby downtown Iowa City and the U of I. If you don’t feel like venturing far, the carriage house is also one block from the new Apres wine bar and bistro and a neighborhood gazebo and playground, a few blocks from an 11-acre off-leash dog park and a ten minute walk to some of the newest rooftop restaurants, microbreweries, and shopping in Coralville’s Iowa River Landing. Dogs allowed for an additional $50 per night. Guest AccessCharming carriage house with private entrance.
