The Space27 Roses Bed and Breakfast, located in a quiet rural hamlet, overlooks the mighty St. Lawrence River and provides guests with scenic views of the river and the ships, large and small that traverse it. Cyclists and walkers will enjoy the local trails and paths. We are a block from a lovely park, which is directly on the river, and areas to launch your kayak or canoe are closeby. The front yard has been converted to a certified Monarch Way Station, filled with beautiful butterfly friendly nectar plants. Butterflies and hummingbirds are frequent inhabitants, delighting visitors. Guests can enjoy a complimentary breakfast, in the four season breakfast room. Weather permitting, guests often enjoy preparing a tray and taking their breakfast outside on the deck, or on the garden patio. Meal service is also available, including supper specials, take-away picnic lunches, 'tea-in-the-afternoon', and after theatre snacks. We are minutes from local attractions such as Upper Canada Village, Upper Canada Playhouse, the Iroquois Locks, several golf courses, municipal dock and boat launch facilities. About an hour's drive from the nation's capital, Ottawa, we provide a quiet get away after your busy sight-seeing day. The second floor of our home has been converted into the bed and breakfast area. There are three bedrooms available, with a shared bath. Complimentary breakfast is available in the four-season breakfast, also on the second floor. The largest room, The Captain's Quarters, overlooks the front gardens and the river. With double terrace doors, guests enjoy the sights, sounds and scents of our rural surroundings. Sunsets over the river are spectacular! The Captain's Quarters include a queen bed, seating and private dining areas. Watch the ships sail by, as you relax AND smell the roses! The NeighborhoodMary's restaurant in town has a very reasonable breakfast and lunch menu, and their Chinese food is quite acceptable. If local home-style cooking is not to your liking, we are 30 minutes to Kemptville where you will find the bigger stores and restaurants. 30 minutes south to Morrisburg and the 401, and 40 minutes to downtown Ottawa. Merrickville and Perth are quaint historical villages about 1 hour west of us, and a nice way to spend a pleasant afternoon shopping and dining. Getting AroundAs a rural community we do not have public transportation, so car is a must. However, we are within walking distance to a 24 hour grocery store, eat-in and take-out restaurants that will deliver. The Winchester District Memorial Hospital is close by as is the local arena and pool. I also have two bikes for your use. Winchester is prolific with walkers!

REDBUSH is a new two bedroom bungalow situated in the picturesque village of Morrisburg on a dead end lane on a tranquil treed lot. Will sleep 6: 2 double beds and a futon. Enjoy open concept living, a modern kitchen with range, fridge, diswasher and microwave. Doran Bay Resort offers guests the choice of 9 beautiful waterfront cottages on the St. Lawrence River facing westward towards the Iroquois Seaway shipping channel, lock/dam. We have 5 one bedroom cottages with two queen size beds in each cottage and sleeps four people. Each cottage has an eat-in kitchenette equipped with appliances (e.g. stove, frig, toaster, kettle, microwave), all dishes/pots/pans and utensils, as well as bed linens and towels. Guest AccessWe have a choice of two rooms for mid and long term stays. The Upper Canada Room or the Mate`s Room. In the Upper Canada Room, guests will have access to their private bedroom quarters featuring a double bed, sofa and small table with chairs. The Mate`s Room features a queen size bed, arm chair and portable laptop table. The breakfast room is available 24/7 to all guests. Continental breakfast is included with your stay and includes things such as bread and and bagels, cereals, fresh baking, yogurt, fresh fruit, juice, milk, tea, coffee. Coffee/tea and water are available at any time. Very reasonable rates for full meal service. There is a TV and DVD player in the breakfast room, too. Getting AroundTaxi service is available from Morrisburg. We are about 45 km from Brockville or Cornwall. Voyageur and Greyhound bus service and Via Rail service are available in these communities. We are about an hour south of Ottawa. Plane, train and bus service is available in Ottawa.

Merrickville and Perth are quaint historical villages about 1 hour west of us, and a nice way to spend a pleasant afternoon shopping and dining. Getting AroundAs a rural community we do not have public transportation, so car is a must. However, we are within walking distance to a 24 hour grocery store, eat-in and take-out restaurants that will deliver. The Winchester District Memorial Hospital is close by as is the local arena and pool. I also have two bikes for your use. Winchester is prolific with walkers! Interesting wildlife, many types of birds (snow owl, cardinals etc) rabbits coyote, deer, wild turkeys, foxes etc.. There are 3 towns nearby (12km) that have various shops. Getting AroundThere is no public transport in the area except for a once a day coach to Ottawa. There is a train service into Casselman (12km). Car rental is available in the area. Parking is free at our B&B Other Things to NoteThe tariff is based upon two people sharing the room. For a single person it would be 30% less. We are an official tourism business with proper registration and insurance. We are also members of the two local tourism organisations (Prescott Russell Tourism and Cornwall and Counties Tourism)

Local Riverside Pub at Uplands Dr. for refreshments. Leave your car at home and take the bus downtown (bus stop just outside the door). Note seniors ride the local buses for FREE on Wednesdays! Must see sights: Downtown be sure to visit The Parliament Bldgs., the National Art Gallery, the National Arts Center, Rideau Locks, The Byward Market, The Museum of Nature, the Museum of Civilization (across the bridge to Gatineau), and Major Hills Park. Revelstoke is one of the best known streets in Ottawa for their water front million dollar properties on the Rideau River at Mooney's Bay. Definitely worth checking it out. At Mooney's Bay there is a beach area, roller skating area, picnic area and trails over to the Ottawa Canoe Club and Hog's Back Park (waterfalls) as well as bicycle trails throughout. Canada's largest playground at Mooney's Bay is officially opening on July 1, 2017 (Canada Day). Dows Lake Pavillion is 5 mins. away where you can rent Kayaks or peddle boats for your pleasure.
