The NeighborhoodThe Sliema and St Julian's coastline is thronged with sunbathers during the peak summer months. From Qui-si-Sana in Sliema to Balluta Bay in St Julian's, it is one long stretch of rocky shore. But popular none the less with sun bathers and swimmers. Steps and handrails placed every so often allow easy access to the water. There are plenty of flat rocks to spread a towel on. The sea here is deep, but generally clean, clear and safe to swim. It is also excellent for snorkelling. Some hotels along the front, especially at the St Julian's end, provide beach concessions equipped with pools, water sports and lido areas for nightlife. The favorite beach areas are: the Tigne' area, Qui si-Sana, Ghar id-Dud, the Exiles and Fond Ghadir. Some are well- known lidos or `beach clubs' though the entire coastline is public access. The Sliema beaches become a very sociable, lively place to be by mid-afternoon in peak summer. The promenade is excellent for long, striding walks in winter, slow strolls on summer evenings and for watching the wave drama during freak autumn storms. You will find plenty of snack bars and restaurants on the coast road and kiosks near the shoreline. Getting AroundA bus stop is near the villa. You can go to Sliema, Valletta, Bugibba and many other town an villages. For night life Paceville is within 2 minutes walk from the villa, with open pubs, discos, restaurants, open restaurants, english schools. The beach is within 6 minutes walk from Villa Foca Other Things to NotePaceville in St Julian's, Sliema area are safe to stay. Cinema, bowling and lots of other entertainment are around 8 minutes walk away from Villa Foca in St Julian's

The name Swieqi alludes to the watering channels that used to criss-cross what used to be farm land. It is situated 10 minutes by bus from Sliema. Its quiet environment and central location, combined with its beautiful townhouses have made it popular with the upper-middle/high class population of the island. In fact, vacant property in this area is notorious for its scarcity and despite its high appreciation; most owners are unwilling to sell. Swieqi has seen its population rise over the years. Hello there , we are an easy going and down to earth Hungarian couple who's work and live in Malta. We like traveling , cooking , stay active and enjoy everything that Malta could offer. Both of us have lived for long period abroad in different countries so no worry about getting along with us :) Our place: Masionette with own entrance at the ground floor,then at the first floor you can find the living area with large kitchen and living room, 2 double and one smaller bedroom. Ensuite toilet (to the room to let),main bathroom + terrace with grill. Second floor with extra large rooftop with grill and sunbeds and bench. The flat is equipped completely , so you can make your breakfast if you like or use the grill on the terrace then get some tan using the sunbed on the rooftop. We are offering a 6 bottles/package of water and free wifi available. We have a second smaller room with two single beds for extra charge in the case you have children with you during your holiday but pls note that there is only one main bathroom to bathing/showering beside of the ensuit toilett to the main letting room.

    A newly refurbished 3-bedroom apartment with style! Apart from the great location, this apartment is comfortably large walking distance to any amenity. It has two accesses on both streets. The apartment consists of a 3-bedroom, 2-bathroom and a kitchen living area. The apartment is very well lit, having an entrance hall leading to one side to a twin bedroom and on the other side two family bathrooms one with a shower closure and one with a bath. Both bathrooms being very spacious. Following through the apartment, one can find an internal courtyard on one side where it gets a lot of natural light from it. Also the apartment has a further large master bedroom fully air-conditioned and a further single bedroom to which the 2nd bed (folding one) can be added at no extra costs for the 6th person to sleep in. Furthermore, it has a very spacious and fully equipped kitchen leading to a well lit living area, fully air-conditioned, which leads to a sunny balcony over another street having an outdoor a seating area for 4 persons. This apartment is just a minutes away from the St Julians promenade which is full of shops, restaurants by the sea, ice cream parlours, internet cafes, daily cruise ships round Malta, or ferry boats that take you to the capital city Valletta. The promenade is ideal for walking or jogging. It is a great area to relax and enjoy the great panorama with boats passing by. The beaches are located just opposite the apartment and are ideal for swimming or sunbathing. St Julians is also famous for its sprawling night-life, with pubs, cinemas and entertainment centres minutes away.

A large construction site is located next to the hotel although this doesn't affect access or any of the facilities at the hotel. Access to other town around the island is very easy bus stops are near by and ATM machines are available as well. With regards to security Malta in general is very safe and this area is one of the safest, walking at any time of the day and night is possible. It accommodated 8,099 people as of November 2005; a small number of service industries, IT facilities and English language schools have taken root. The municipality of Is-Swieqi assimilates Is-Swieqi, Tal-Ibraġ, Il-Madliena and part of St Andrews. Il-Madliena and St Andrew's originally formed part of Ħal Għargħur. The Hamlet of Il-Madliena owes its origin to the Chapel of St Mary Magdalen which was built in the 15th century. Tal-Ibraġ is a newly developed Hamlet which over the past decade has almost reached its maximum development potential. St Andrew's is on the outskirts of Is-Swieqi at the border with the locality of Pembroke. The town's coat of arms features a red and gold zig zag motif indicating the valleys and fields of Tal-Ibraġ, blue waves indicating the watering courses (swieqi in Maltese) and a silver saltire. Il-Madliena is indicated with the red letter M. Is-Swieqi has its own local council, and in 2007 it had its own postal code instated (SWQ....). The town fell under the jurisdiction of St Julian's, Birkirkara, San Ġwann, In-Naxxar and Ħal Għargħur at different times in its history.

Getting AroundWe can organize your Transfers from Airport to Apartment and Back at a surcharge of €22 each way for up to 4 people and €25 for 5 people. For Public Transport take Bus x1 from the Airport to St.Julians - Bus Stop named "Ross" . The bus stop is just 2 minutes walk down the road with access to all main bus routes, such as to Valletta , Sliema , Mellieha and St Paul's bay. There is no private parking but there are parking spaces near and around the building. It is located on the second floor of a block of apartments and it has been recently refurbished with new furniture and it is very bright and sunny. There is also a small balcony overlooking the street. The living room: There are 2 sofas and a very large flat screen with free cable TV. Free wi-fi internet . The bedrooms: One double bedroom with king size bed, and 2 twin bedrooms with 2 single beds in each one. There is also a double sofa bed in the living room. The bathrooms: 1 bathroom and 1 brand new shower room. Clean towels and bed linen are included in the price. The Kitchen: A fully equipped kitchen with electric oven. Toiletries are also included in the price and electricity is by coin meter. Guest AccessGuests have the entire apartment to themselves including a space on the roof where one can relax with a drink and watch the sunset! There is full free cable TV and free wi-fi internet. There are all kinds of restaurants, pubs, wine bars, souvenir shops all in close vicinity. There is also a supermarket close by and parking outside should not be a problem either. Getting AroundThe promenade, the beach and shops are within walking distance. There is also bus stops in the vicinity from where you can either go north towards Mellieha and the ferry for the island of Gozo, or else you can go the opposite direction towards the south and Valletta. Other Things to NoteGetting to the maisonette From the airport you take bus X2 to st Julians. You will stop at san Gillian bus stop. From there you have to walk to swieqi going down a little curved slope. There is like a small tunnel under the bridge and that is entry of swieqi. Keep going straight in swieqi road and Ilma street is the 3rd street on the left.

    The apartment is just off Paceville in the residential part of Swieqi. It is a safe environment and walking distance to everything- clubs, beach, shops. Very centrally located with lots of shops nearby. The flat is only a year old so all the appliances are new. There are two large balconies on the front offering lots of light. The place is my home so it has a warm comfortable feeling and a welcoming atmosphere. I am very in yoga, health and fitness. Love music , dance and good food :) Rather easy going but hardly at home because I work long hours.
