There are two cozy and rustic cabins offered at this glamping site in upstate New York on the coast of Lake Champlain. Guests can rent cabins individually or together for a larger group. The original cabin: This cabin, which was remodeled in 2012, has one bedroom and one bathroom. The cabin is equipped with all new appliances, two flat-screen LCD TV sets, a DVD player, an iPod dock, and Wi-Fi. There is heating, air conditioning, and a ceiling fan, which keeps glampers cool and comfortable in the warmer months, and cozy when the weather is cooler. The cabin includes a private patio with a table, four chairs, and a gas grill — perfect for glampers who wish to cook a BBQ style meal in the evening. There is a queen-sized mattress and a hide-a-bed, which means the cabin can accommodate between three and four people. It is ideal for two adults and two children, or three adults. The boathouse cabin: This cabin was actually a real boathouse until the 1970's. It is a rustic getaway made up of two bedrooms. There is a queen-sized bed in one bedroom with a view of the lake, and a full-sized bed in the other bedroom. There is also a double-sized hide-a-bed, meaning this cabin accommodates up to six people. Within this cabin, there are also two LCD TV sets, an iPod dock, Wi-Fi, heating, air conditioning, and two ceiling fans. There is even a full private bathroom with a large shower. Additionally, glampers will enjoy a fully-equipped kitchen and a large covered porch that has a lovely table, eight chairs, a children’s picnic table, and a separate gardened patio with a gas grill. Glampers can therefore choose to cook a traditional meal, or go family style with a outdoor cook-out. There is a lovely view of the lake from the master bedroom, and guests have access to the beach, a fire pit, and a dock.

The SpaceOur Vermont farmhouse was built in the late 1700's and updated in recent years. We kept the rustic integrity of the original structure, but opened it up and added some modern conveniences. Open, rambling floor plan allows plenty of space and privacy. The highlight is a large veranda that has a great view of Lake Champlain. The "Boathouse" has large windows that open to create an airy screened porch-like room directly on the shore. There is also a cozy living room for games and reading. The master bedroom is good-sized, overlooks the lake and has an antique queen size bed. Bedroom two and bedroom three are small and one has a double bed while other has two singles. There is also a daybed on first floor. We have a beautiful south-facing yard with a deck (including gas grill), organic herb and vegetable garden that leads down to the lake where there is a 60 ft. dock. There are no direct neighbours. Guest AccessA flat rock shore provides great swimming and the ability to dock a boat. Kayak, canoe, windsurfer, paddleboat, sailboat, bikes, and motorboat on premise and included. There are hiking trails and nature walks. This is a turnkey rental for families with kids - everything is included for them to stay occupied outdoors for weeks! Isle La Motte is also convenient to Burlington, Palmer's Beach, Point aux Roches, Shelburne, Montpellier, Stowe, Jay Peak, Smuggler's Notch and Montreal, Qc, with its nightlife, restaurants, shopping, museums, yoga classes and entertainment. Interaction with GuestsWe live in nearby Montreal, and would love to greet you when you arrive and say goodbye when you leave, if our schedules connect. Caretaker available to help with any problems. The NeighborhoodIsle La Motte, Vermont, is an historic island (joined by a causeway at its northern tip) with an amazing history. We are at the southernmost tip of the island and there is very little traffic. The island is the northernmost of the Champlain Islands and it is the oldest known fossilized coral reef in the world. There is a fossil preserve, tea garden, and gallery next door, long un-interupted nature trails and a large apple orchard down the road. Sandy beaches and state parks are nearby and reachable by car or motorboat. Getting AroundCar, horse, bike, or boat. Other Things to NoteWe love living on spectacular Lake Champlain, and enjoy the beautiful water views and the sounds of lapping water. We love the large open boathouse and swimming and boating off the dock. The cottage is old (once visited by Teddy Roosevelt), rustic yet convenient, with painted floors and a large bay window.
