The SpaceLocated in one of Jacksonville's nicer neighborhoods just south of Historic San Marco is what is commonly known as The Duck Pond. Just a few doors from there is my place. This room is my writing studio and office during the week. It has a single, pull out ottoman with 3" topper for extra comfort and access to a shared bathroom less than a foot outside the door. There is no closet space but there are a couple of door hooks and a luggage rack to help with your stay. This is a perfect location for short term stays for single tourists and visitors to our wonderful medical facilities or people traveling for work or school. You are about twenty five minutes to the beach and to Mayo Clinic, ten minutes to Brooks Rehabilitation Hospital, and minutes to Historic San Marco, downtown and Riverside - where you will find St. Vincent's Medical Center, the sports complex, Nemour's/Wolfson's Children's Hospital, Ronald McDonald House and Baptist Medical Center and clinics, along with assorted office buildings, clubs and restaurants. This room is a working office so expect to see files, a full bookcase and other office accoutrements. Students have found the space comfortable while they stayed for 1 week to several months completing internships at local medical facilities or worked on special projects with professors at University of North Florida. The proximity to downtown has also been convenient for business people in town for meetings and conferences. If it doesn't look there is availability, ask anyway - I have the ability to make some adjustments if there seems to be a conflict. Guest AccessThe only caveat is that you must love dogs. I live with two pups who act as greeters and love to have company. Both love people and are quiet for the most part, though they do sound the alarm if another dog walks by or someone approaches the house. They take their job as watch dogs very seriously. You will have access to an adjacent bath that is shared with other guests when another room is booked, use of a well tooled kitchen (includes a Vitamix - if it is important to you, you will know what this means ;-)), TV with Netflix and Amazon Plus, and Wifi; all the things you may need for a short stay. My three guest rooms are located on the opposite side of the house from the kitchen and the master bedroom, and doors to the guest area can be closed for more quiet or privacy. Interaction with GuestsI work from home on occasion as a writer, professor and entrepreneur so I can be available should you have questions, special requests, etc. Wifi, and plenty of places to sit and read or relax are available. The NeighborhoodThe neighborhood is quiet and safe and there is secure parking in the back of the house, off the street. I can accommodate three cars and the street is generally safe, if you are more comfortable with that. If you are a runner, walker, or cyclist you can run, walk and cycle for miles without ever having to go near a busy or noisy main street, all the while feeling safe as you walk, run or ride through some of Jacksonville's most beautiful neighborhoods. Have a specific question, need or request? Please ask. People move into this neighborhood and stay for a lifetime - once you experience it you will understand why. Getting AroundIf you are unfamiliar with the city, considered by some to be one of Florida's best kept secrets, this San Marco area is one of Jacksonville's oldest and nicest neighborhoods. Many of the people who live here have done so for a very long time or for generations. The homes are, for the most part, older homes that all have a great deal of character. The streets are wide and safe to walk and run and people look out for one another. It provides a relaxing environment and if more activity is needed you are within close proximity to some of the best restaurants, bars, clubs, museums and theaters you can find in the San Marco, Riverside, downtown area. It is only a mile into the artsy San Marco village where there are shoppes, galleries, restaurants, coffee shops, clubs and bars. Another 2 minute drive and you are downtown with restaurants, clubs and museums, and in 5 minutes you are in Riverside, another of Jacksonville's interesting and artful communities. Jacksonville covers a large geographical area - over 800 square miles - and things are spread out, so an auto is your best option. There is a bus stop at the end of the street, though this is better suited for people who may be in town for work, school, internships, etc. and who have more time flexibility. The buses do not run on the same frequency that you may be accustomed to in a larger city. Guests without a car have had good luck using Uber. Other Things to NoteThis location is a close to downtown residential area, very close to many of the city's businesses so if you have a special situation that may cause you to be back in town regularly or are planning to be here for an extended stay, send me a message to see if we can make something work for you. I usually have some flexibility with other space in the house so don't let unavailable dates get in the way!

The Space2 BDRMS: (1) A sun filled room with comfy queen sized bed (sleeps 2), garden views through the plantation shutters, dresser, roomy closet, ironing board and iron, coffee/tea set up and small flatscreen tv. (2) Cozy retreat w/ bunk beds (sleeps 2), dresser, small closet - both share private bath in hall. Guest AccessIn my home, guests will have access to the large eat-in kitchen, private garden and deck, dining room and living room with 55" flatscreen TV (with Netflix) and front porch with porch swing. This is in addition to guests' private full bath, ample closet space and free street parking. Interaction with GuestsI will assume my guests will prefer to be private, and I will be in and out of the house on my own business. However, I am happy to provide some concierge services, e.g., bike rentals, information on local attractions, restaurant reservations, and I can provide freshly prepared breakfast upon advance consultation, including locally roasted fair trade coffee, vegan and gluten-free baked goods and other special requests. The NeighborhoodMy home is a charmingly renovated and restored 1917 Craftsman Bungalow. It sits in the heart of the most architecturally diverse neighborhood in Florida - Riverside/Avondale. In recent years, this neighborhood has exploded with craft beer breweries, pubs, shops and locally owned restaurants. It's a quirky, quaint neighborhood with walkable shady streets, art galleries, many parks, access to the river and friendly people. Getting AroundAMTRAK,GREYHOUND, REDCOACH BUS AND JIA TO JACKSONVILLE. I am an Uber driver so I can arrange for pick up/drop off and local excursions in my minivan at very reasonable rates. Go to (URL HIDDEN) for details on how that works. JTA provides bus transit, with a bus stop located in front of my home. My neighborhood is very walkable, and there is reasonable bike rental available. Other Things to NoteInteresting and unique attractions within a mile or two of my home include The Cummer Art Gallery and Gardens, Memorial Park, Florida's oldest and largest Farmer's Market, Nationally acclaimed locally roasted fair trade coffee at Bold Bean Brewery, sprawling used book store Chamblin Book Mine, 2 excellent microbreweries and several delightful restaurants/bars featuring their products and a unique and uniquely delicious vegan/gluten free bakery. Also the Riverwalk provides a scenic walking/biking path to downtown along the river from my neighborhood and downtown now boasts a wonderful candy factory/chocolatier/cafe/bar that is well worth a look. The major performing arts venues of the Florida Theatre, Times Union Center and Arena are less than 4 miles way and the Stadium (home of the Jaguars) is five miles away. Guests looking for eco adventures should explore Kingsley Plantation, Little Talbot Island (about 45 minutes drive) and the more energetic should look into kayak tours through First Coast Outfitters.

The SpaceEddy and I have 2 bedrooms for rent in our historical home in Springfield, Jacksonville. This listing is for our bedroom that has a FULL size bed. We have 2 bathrooms to share with hosts and other guests. No private bathrooms (sorry). There's also wireless internet throughout the house. We have 2 small friendly dogs who love company! Sanchez and Rico. Rico is a barker! He welcomes you in the house as well as barks when dogs pass by outside. This can be a problem for people who like to sleep in. A message with your intentions for your stay is greatly appreciated. *we will not accept short term stays months agead. But will accommodate them a week or 2 before arrival* The house is over 100 years old, it can be drafty in the winter months, but we make sure guests are comfortable (hear is at 68-70). We provide warm duvets and space heaters. Summer months can be hot! We keep the AC at 80 (27c). Guest AccessYou have access to the whole house (kitchen, dinning room, living room, washer & dryer). We also provide cooking essentials like oil, spices, condiments... coffee and tea as well. Other fun stuff you can borrow: - Bike & lock - Museum membership to MOCA & Cummer Museum & Garden - Discs (freezebies) for playing the Disc Golf course in Klutho Park - 2 tennis raquets (tennis court 2 blocks away) -Skateboard Interaction with GuestsInteraction with our guests varies depending on each guests and on our schedule. We want our guests to have the best experience, so we adapt to their needs. We enjoy getting to know our guests. The NeighborhoodHistoric Springfield is the oldest neighborhood in Jacksonville. Most homes are over a 100 years old. Like many urban areas in the US, Springfield deteriorated with the growth of the suburbs. It is now actively being remodeled, but you will see a lot of abandoned homes, still a lot of poverty and occasional gun shots (usually in the distance). It is a great community of people trying to bring back Springfield to it's original glory. Voted #1 comeback neighborhood of the South by Southern Living magazine and situated in the urbancore of Jacksonville, we are walking distance from UF Health / Shands Hospital and a five minutes from downtown. Lots of neighborhood charms; old homes, big trees, coffee shop, candy store, local bars & restaurants... Because of the proximity to downtown, we are centrally located and have easy access to I-95 as well as I-10 and about 30 minutes driving to the Jax Beach. We are also surrounded by great older neighborhoods like San Marco, Riverside and Avondale. Getting AroundWe are 15 minutes walk to the central bus station in Jacksonville. However, public transportation is not the best and your commute can be very long. However if you are visiting downtown Jacksonville and around, we have a bike for guests to use. Walking is not too bad either. We are 20 minutes from the airport by car or taxi. A taxi ride will run about $30, about $20 with Uber. No convenient bus route, sorry. Other Things to NoteWe often host dinners wuth friends and parties. We will let you know if a dinner is planned during your stay. We always encourage our guests to join.

The SpaceThis well appointed ,chic ,private retreat has almost all of the amenites you will need for an overnight or extended stay. Newly equipped with state of the art keyless entry that's integrated with carbon dioxide and smoke detectors, this non smoking apartment provides maximum safety with piece of mind .The apartment has a fully furnished kitchen with a full sized stove and refrigerator and comes with dishes, pots and pans. Additional linens and towels are provided. Please note maximum occupancy is 2 people per unit and is an adults only space as I do not offer cribs or additional bedding. . I do not accept multiple pets but do accept one with an additional 50.00 non refundable pet fee for up to one week. The pet must be crated when left alone and must not exceed 35 pounds. Guest will have access to the whole apartment as well as the yard which has been recently updated with privacy fencing, a fire pit area, chairs and chaise lounge. More improvements are in the works! I will try to meet all guests as my schedule permits and will be more than happy to assist with dining recommendations, directions, points of interest and anything else you may need during your stay in Jacksonville. Please do not hesitate to ask! Murray Hill /Rvierside is a tradtional urban neighborhood where most people know their neighbors, I actually have 4 rental properties on this block, but this is the only 1 of 2 fully furnished places I have. I know most people on this block. There is a good restaurant located aboout 10 minutes walk away called the Edgewood Diner which offers up tasty meals with an urban flair. The iconic "Dreamette" is a 60 year old ice cream shop which is an institution in this neigborhood and is only 7 minutes walk form the apartment. Another must visit is the Edgewood Bakery which is 100 yards part the Dreamette and across the street from the Edgewood Diner. The pastries are to die for, but they also offer sit down breakfast, coffees, brunch and lunch with a lovely outdoor patio for people watching. Eveything is home made here..The best pizza and calzones in town can be found at Moon River Pizza about a 3 minute car drive from the property but about a 20 minute walk and just down the street from the Bakery and Crazy Egg Restaurant. .Trendy Avondale is about 3 more minutes by car and Hip Riverside eateries, bars and clubs are only a 2 minute drive in the other direction. Please inquire if you need specific recommendations for restaurants while here. There are also many interesting homes in this part of town and this is one of the two parts of town where you can still find a few homes that were built pre 1900. My personal house is a 1915 Craftsman Bungalow. There is one of 2 known exsiting SEARS KIT HOMES in Jacksonville in this neighborhood. You will see 1920 houses next to 1950 houses and there virtually is no two homes alike in many parts of this neighborhood. Some of my neighbors have fallen on hard times as this is a working class neighborhood. Some are living paycheck to paycheck and many are eldery and have little or no extra funds for tidy manicured lawns and updated exteriors. If you are uncomfortable with discovering that some people may exist this way perhaps this may not be the best fit for you. I have lived in this neighborhood for over 15 years and would live nowhere else! The public buses are about a 5 minute walk away but are cumbersome and take a while to get you anywhere unless your destination in on one of the main routes. A car is the way to go. Keep in mind prior to booking unless you mention it, I am not aware of how you will be arriving, so if you need distances or travel times to events in the area please ask. Jacksonville is very large and very spread out. I do accept only 2 people in each unit and I do not provide cribs or rollaway beds. I do not allow sleeping on the couch.I do accept a pet with a $50.00 non refundable pet fee. For stays longer than a week there will be a higher pet fee . Please inquire! Pets must be crated when guests are out of the apartment. If your pet is a barker, this may disturb the upstairs guests. I accept only one pet per unit. Please no hate mail, or arguments regarding this. If you clean up pet mess nightly from your home maybe that works for you but not for me. Keep this in mind as pets may act differently when in unfamiliar territory. Murray/Hill Riverside is a true urban neighborhood which means its comprised of a very diverse cultural cross section of people. If you are uncomfortable with people that differ from you in terms of relgion, ethnic background, country of origin or sexual orientation perhaps this area may not be right for you. Please note I cannot control neigbors,or situations outsde of my unit but I can control the conditon, upkeep and the cleanliness of my space. If something is not to your satisfaction I will do my best to fix it within reason. If something is not to your liking please advise me upfront to see if there is anything I can do to rectify the situation. Letting me know of an issue after you check out is not the best way to remedy a situation! Guests will have access to the privacy fenced in back yard, fire pit and garden area. I will try to meet and greet all my guests on arrival however may use a lockbox for very late arrivals or if I have to venture out of town. I would be happy to do "Facetime" or "(website hidden)" video walkthroughs if I cannot meet you in person so I can explain the amenities, features and location of everything. Murray /Hill Riverside is a gentrified urban core older neighborhood consisting of modest bungalows with smaller sized lots. it is well placed and close to both major Interstates 95 and 10, and only about 3 miles from the downtown. From initial appearances it may not look like there is much nearby, but with 100 seconds you can drive to over 100 restaurants, bars and nightclubs. The area is very culturally diverse and if you feel uncomfortable around people who may differ from your religion, color, sexual orientation or socio- economic status this area will more than likely not be the best fit for you. I live 3 blocks from the unit and would not live anywhere else in this town! There is a bus route only a 100 yards from the unit but a car is the best option for exploring the city. Please read all the details and descriptions carefully and fully. Please note I cannot call you as Airbnb will block phone numbers on any unconfirmed bookings. I do not charge tax but Airbnb does charge a minimal booking fee. Thanks for looking! Please no third party bookings. If the person staying in my unit is not the person on the reservation I will report to Airbnb and cancel the reservation. Guest AccessGuests will have direct access to the privacy fenced in back yard, fire pit and garden area. Interaction with GuestsI will try to meet and greet all my guests on arrival however guests may self check in with electronic key codes in the event for very late arrivals or if I have to venture out of town. The SpaceThis incredible little house was built in 1926 and has some charming details to boast. We have a big beautiful front porch that's perfect for relaxing and watching natures best as well as a steady flow of bike commuters. (Yes, there are rocking chairs and a porch swing). There is also a porch in the back of the house for more privacy or a cookout on our large grill. There's a chance we will ask that the "main rooms" of the house be reserved for our use only when we are home. But no concern, your space is complete! There is a "full" size Ikea bed, great light, t.v. with full cable, direct kitchen and laundry access, and a PRIVATE BATHROOM! (which is a brand new addition). And again, our awesome porch! Our neighborhood has some incredible accommodations as well. We are walking/biking distance to King Street in Riverside which has blossomed in the last few years with shopping, GREAT affordable restaurants , and energetic eclectic people. Historic Avondale only a mile away, has more upscale shopping, and "date night" worthy dining. There is also a convenient liquor store. Trendy 5 Points is about 2 miles in the other direction and is great for lots of fun and people watching. There are several great restaurants, and shops here as well. There is also a new Roof Top bar and a very old theater that has some interesting cinema. Downtown is also only 2 miles away and includes the Times Union center, the Florida Theater, The Landing, Everbank Stadium, MOCA (Museum of Contemporary Art), and again endless trendy bars, restaurants, parks, and art. Our entire area is also dotted with fun friendly parks perfect for relaxing, games, and walking. It is also surrounded by the St. Johns River. You are welcome to borrow our bikes to take advantage of all of this entertainment. Additionally, Jax Beach is about a 25 minute car ride and offers a lot of comforts as well. We are very fun, easy-going guys who are happy to make your stay as comfortable as possible. We are both teachers with strict schedules and weekends off so we will be available for recommendations or help with navigating the area. Our cat is also extremely friendly and will chat your ear off if you let him. Thanks for checking out our space! Guest AccessPartial House (front porch, backyard deck, kitchen, private bedroom/bathroom, laundry room). The living room, dining room, and den are accessible when we are not home. Interaction with GuestsWe are both very friendly guys and would love to know what brings you to town. We can also help out a lot when it comes to you exploring the area. We are very familiar with all of the fun zones of Riverside/Avondale. However, I mentioned above that we will need our alone time as well. We are both teachers so many nights we barley have the energy to stand up let alone converse any more. The NeighborhoodVery peaceful neighborhood. There are lots of little parks, families, and bikes. Just a simple walk around our neighborhood is interesting. The homes are great. Getting AroundThere is a bus route only minutes away. You can walk to King Street in about 15-20 minutes or a 5 minute bike ride. If we are headed in the same direction we could give you car ride. The beach is probably and hour bus ride.

Visit 5 points, King Street District, the Cummer Museum and Gardens and the Shoppes of Avondale. A 20 minute drive will drop you at the Beaches or Mayo Clinic 45 minutes away are St. Augustine or Amelia Island (Fernandina Beach) Getting AroundA car is your best bet as this is the largest city (sq. miles) in the US. If you are headed to Downtown, a 1/2 mile walk to the Skyway Station takes you to the Convention Center, Hemming Park (MOCA/Main Library); Otherwise a cab or car service like Uber or Lyft can take you out of San Marco. There is a Water Taxi that runs between the Southbank (San Marco) to the Northbank (Downtown/EverBank Field/Times Union Center/Florida Theatre, Clubs/Bars etc.) Otherwise you can walk the 1.25 +/- miles from LaSalle St, over the Main Street Bridge, into Downtown. Free off street parking is behind the building and accessed via alley. Note: Some drivers may experience difficulty using off street parking with very large cars (ex- Escalade, Suburban, etc.). Street parking is also available in front of the home. Other Things to NoteAll pricing includes nightly price + 7% County/City Tax

Schedule permitting, I am happy to take you on a tour of the area, advise you on attractions/restaurants, assist you with special requests/needs, etc. The NeighborhoodBeautiful, heavily treed, upscale suburban neighborhood in very close proximity to downtown (about 10 minutes). There are many restaurants (both casual and fine dining) in the area. There are grocery stores and shopping within 5 minutes of the cottage. It's about a 30 minute drive to the beach. Other Things to NotePrior to booking, I require both first and last names and ages of all guests. I may request photo identification in the form of a driver's license upon check-in.

The SpaceEddy and I welcome you in our century old historical home in Springfield, Jacksonville. This listing is for our sunroom, which is an amazing room with lots of sunlight, a private entrance and it's right next to the downstairs bathroom and kitchen. This is the most private, peaceful and relaxing room in our house. The bed is made of a latex memory foam. It is a firm mattress with a soft top on it. There is no closet in this room. The 2 bathrooms in the house are to be shared with hosts and other guests. No private bathrooms (sorry), but the downstair bathroom next to the sunroom is rarely used. There's wireless internet throughout the house. We have 2 small friendly dogs, Sanchez & Rico, who love company! Rico is a barker! He welcomes you in the house as well as barks when dogs pass by outside. This can be a problem for people who like to sleep in. But in the sunroom, you shouldn't hear him. We also foster cats from time to time. A message with your intentions for your stay is greatly appreciated. We will not book 1 or 2-night request months in advance. This blocks our calendar and we can't receive longterm guests. 1 to 2 weeks before is great! The house is over 100 years old, it can be drafty in the winter months (68-70), but we make sure guests are comfortable. Same goes in the summer, it can be hot for some people. We keep the central air at 80f (27c). The Sunroom has it's own a/c unit. You have control of it. Guest AccessYou have access to the whole house (kitchen, dinning room, living room, washer & dryer). We are happy to offer cooking essentials like olive oil, spices, sugar... we also offer coffee and tea. Other fun stuff you can borrow: - Bike & lock - Museum membership to MOCA & Cummer Museum & Garden - Discs (freezebies) for playing the Disc Golf course in Klutho Park - 2 tennis racquets (tennis court 2 blocks away) - Badminton set - Beach chair and umbrella - Skateboard Interaction with GuestsInteraction with our guests varies depending on each guests and on our schedule. We want our guests to have the best experience, so we adapt to their needs. However, we enjoy getting to know our guests. The NeighborhoodHistoric Springfield is the oldest neighborhood in Jacksonville. Most homes are over a 100 years old. Like many urban areas in the US, Springfield deteriorated with the growth of the suburbs. It is now actively being remodeled, but you will see a lot of abandoned homes, still a lot of poverty. It is a great community of people trying to bring back Springfield to it's original glory. Voted #1 comeback neighborhood of the South by Southern Living magazine and situated in the urbancore of Jacksonville, we are walking distance from UF Health (Shands) Hospital and a five minutes from downtown. Lots of neighborhood charms; old homes, big trees... Because of the proximity to downtown, we are centrally located and have easy access to I-95 as well as I-10 and about 30 minutes driving to the beach. We are also surrounded by great older neighborhoods like San Marco, Riverside and Avondale. Getting AroundWe are 15 minutes walk to the central bus station in Jacksonville. However, public transportation is not the best and your commute can be very long. If you are visiting downtown Jacksonville and around, we have a bike available. Walking is not too bad either. We are 20 minutes from the airport by car or taxi. A taxi ride will run about $30. We suggest guests to look into Uber or Lyft. No convenient bus route, sorry. Other Things to NoteWe often host dinners and parties at our house. We will let you know if a dinner is planned during your stay. Guests are always welcomed to join.
