Little Thumb sits on the water's edge on Damariscotta Lake, under pine and oak trees. It is surrounded by water on three sides and looks south down the long part of the lake. The cove to East is a favorite feeding place for heron and bald eagles. Dangle your feet off the private dock, and watch ducks paddle by. Let the loons lull you to sleep. We offer weekly rentals during the summer until mid-September. We also offer monthly and extended seasonal stays. This is a seasonal cabin and is not available during the winter months. The kitchen, bathroom, and bedrooms have been totally remodeled. The kitchen has a gas stove, microwave, and center island. The bathroom has a washer and dryer. The living room has a gas fireplace and full views of the lake. There are two bedrooms with blankets, pillows, and quilts provided. Sheets and towels are not included. The cabin sits on an island which is now attached to the East side of Damariscotta Lake by a causeway. A wetland has grown up beside it. There are only about 10 houses and it feels very private. Walk or bike along the dirt roads. Kayak or canoe off the dock. Fish in the cove. Or just relax and enjoy the views. Swimming: We usually can swim right off our dock. But the water off the dock is often too shallow for diving. It is deeper by the swim float. You can swim to the float or paddle there from the dock. We keep two kayaks at the cottage, two paddles, and two life vest. You may bring your own if you are smaller or larger then average. Please let the life vests drip outside before bringing inside. If you wish to rent additional kayaks or a canoe I will be happy to give you information about some places that rent and deliver. There is a sand beach at Damariscotta Lake State Park, 10 minutes from the cottage. There is a sand beach and ocean swimming at Pemaquid Beach in New Harbor, about a 1/2 hr from the cottage. Please bring your own bottled water: The cottage uses the lake water. It is fine for washing up, showers, etc. Please use bottled water for drinking and cooking. Poland Spring has convenient 2.5 gallon jugs with spigots that can fit in the refrigerator. Sheet sizes: We have one queen sized bed and a pair of twins.

Tribby Cottage is located in the country town of Jefferson in Midcoast Maine which is 3 hours from Boston and 1 hour from Portland. It is both a private retreat and a place to enjoy the outdoors with your family and friends. It is the last cottage on the road and is surrounded by trees and fields. The cottage is nestled into a gentle hill that slopes down to the water's edge which about 100ft from the front door. At the shoreline you will find a small deck with stairs that lead to the small beach, dock and a canoe and kayak. Clary Lake is approximately 6-700 acres and 25 feet deep. It is a quiet lake with bass, perch and pickerel for enjoyable fishing. Inside the cottage there is a large but cozy pine paneled living space with a wood stove, couch and seating area with a TV and DVD player, upholstered chairs by the picture window, and a dining area. The kitchen offers a stove, microwave, toaster oven, coffee pot, large refrigerator, and all the pots, pans and utensils needed to cook a delicious meal. The tiled bathroom has a shower.
