Our home is a hillside ranch (daylight basement) and the new apartment (approximately 600 sf) was designed and built in the lower level, taking advantage of our Southern and Western sunny exposures and the pretty gardens and beautiful mountain views. The Southwest side of this apartment is on ground level and the other 3 sides are all partially below grade level. You have beautiful views and lots of sun through your doorway and windows. Please see the pictures. You also have the your own full bath, which has large ceramic flooring, a granite topped vanity and is all trimmed out with custom woodwork. Your kitchen and dining area has all you will need and more. It is complete with range, dishwasher, refrigerator and a coffee pot. An outdoor gas BBQ has been added for your use. Cupboards are complete with dishes, eating and serving utensils, and pots and pans. A selection of teas and coffees is also provided for you. All you will need to bring is your own food....if you decide to prepare your own meals. This apartment comfortably fits 4, but can accommodate up to 6. The the bedroom has a double bed w/ new memory foam and a duvet and the second bed is a fold out couch to a queen size bed w/a new memory foam mattress. The kitchen and dining area also has an antique oak foldout sofa (w/new memory foam mattress), providing an additional double bed. A fireplace has also been added to keep you warm and cozy! We also added a 32" flatscreen w/ dish network for those times you just want to watch a show or a movie. Listed price includes 11% VT rooms tax and all cleaning fees. Guest AccessYou will have access to both of our decks, the front deck gets all the morning sun and is great for that morning coffee....and the back deck gets all the afternoon sun and sunsets. Both decks are great for watching for shooting stars and even the Northern Lights on rare occasions.
You will also have access to our wireless WiFi.
There is abundant free parking. You can even build a camp fire in the evening in our back yard. In season, we also share our strawberry beds and vegetable gardens. Since we are located in the mountains of Northern VT, we recommend that your vehicle has snow tires in the winter time. Interaction with GuestsWe will check you in and check you out, and we will be there to make your stay as enjoyable as possible. We do not want to intrude on your privacy, but we would be more than willing to help you. We have been blessed to have lived here many years and would be happy to guide/direct you to many of the beautiful places and adventures that are here waiting to be discovered by you. This is a great place for kids, young adults, and for all the young at heart. The NeighborhoodIt's like going back in time. People are nice and the pace is enjoyable. We are right in the heart of the Green Mountains. Smuggler's Notch resort is less than 10 minutes away. The highest mountain in the state (Mt. Mansfield) is right here and so is the best skiing in all of Eastern U.S. and Canada, Smuggler's Notch and Stowe. We are surrounded by beautiful meadows and rivers and wildlife. Jeffersonville has several great restaurants and shops and art studios. It is beautiful quaint little town. Stowe is just the other side of Smuggler's Notch and has lots of touristy activities. Burlington is just 40 minutes away and is a beautiful city to visit. Montreal is only 2 hours away, but the Canadian border with small quaint French speaking towns is less than an hour away. Getting AroundYou will need a car or bicycles. We have plenty of free public parking at our home. If you are flying into
Burlington, VT, you would do well to rent a car at the airport. If you really needed, I could pick you up at airport for additional fee. Other Things to NoteFor winter driving here, snow tires are recommended.
