Shabbat? Not a problem. All electrical sockets have a Shabbat timer, including the A/C. There is an American size Shabbat urn, hot plate available for your use.
Please note: There is a washer but no dryer in the apartment. If a dryer or hot tub is shown in the amenities section of the listing, it is a mistake of the system. Please do not use the washer unless personally shown how to by the host. There is a good local laundromat that does free pick-up and same-day delivery, whose services are available for an additional fee, based upon the size of your load. Interaction with GuestsGuests are provided with 100% privacy during their stay. I am always available on my phone or email for my guests. Need advice on coolest hang-outs? restaurants? theater? events in the city? Just ask me! I'm really good at drawing easy-to-follow maps of the roads and short-cuts to main attractions that don't show up on G-Maps! ;-)
Socializing with guests is solely as per the request of the guest. The NeighborhoodWith greenery and parks galore, we are located in a central location but without the hustle and bustle of mid-town.
The Old City entrance, Jaffa Gate, the famous King David and Waldorf Astoria Hotels and the Mamilla Mall are only a short bus ride away (5 minutes) or a 25-30 minute leisurely walk. The German Colony with its hip cafe's and restaurants, First Station Boardwalk and City Center are all within a 15-20 minute walk or a 5 minute bus ride.
Jerusalem's famous Botanical Gardens are right down the block.
Sacker Park (great for picnics and playing frisbee!), San Simon Park, and the Monastery of the Cross are all within a 5 minute walk from the house.
Museum Boulevard (Israel Museum, Bible Lands Museum, Science Museum, Israel's Parliament - the Knesset, Israel's Supreme Court of Justice) are all within a 15 minute walk through the lusciously green Sacker Park.
Givat Ram University Campus and the Music Academy are 15 minute walk away. Direct buses are available to Hadassah Ein Kerem Hospital and Mount Scopus hospital and university campuses. Bus stops are only 3 minutes away.
The Jerusalem Theater, a beautiful venue for local and international cultural entertainment, is just 10 minutes away on foot.
Shopping? Choose between the 3 supermarkets located just around the corner!
Synagogues? So many all around home! Getting AroundPublic transportation is so easy! Bus stops to locations all over the city are all within 1-5 minute walking distance.If you enjoy getting to know the city via public transportation, all the main bus stops are located within less than a 5 minute walking distance, including a 7-minute bus ride on bus #15 to the Central Bus Station, a 5 minute ride to the street the market is located at, and a 7 minute bus ride on bus #13 to Jaffa Gate.
Transportation in and out of the city is the simplest route - 1 direct road leads from the house to the city exit, which leads directly to Tel Aviv as well as the airport.
Taxis are available on the street all day and night, as well as call-in car service. A highly- recommended private taxi service is available as well.
If notifies ahead of time, a shuttle service can be ordered for you to take you to the airport, or if you prefer - a private taxi at a discounted fee will take you in comfort and quiet directly to the airport within 45 minutes. Other Things to Note**NOTE**
*** The cleaning fee is $125 USD and is for stays UP TO 1 week. It is to be paid upon entry. For stays longer than 1 week, cleaning fees are to be paid upon entry at the rate of $85 USD per week or part thereof, after the initial minimum of $125 USD for the first week. ****
There are NO EXTRA HIDDEN FEES OR EXPENSES. Literally ALL amenities, utilities, etc are covered by the cost. We provide all bath and cleaning amenities (soap, shampoo, toilet paper, detergent, etc), even toothpaste! All you need to do is come with your clothes!
Note that kitchen is kosher.
Dairy and vegetarian cooking is available.
Meat and chicken cannot be cooked in the kitchen but ready-to-eat chicken can be eaten on plasticware only.
Non-kosher food cannot be cooked in the kitchen, but can be purchased, kept in the fridge, and can be eaten on separate plastic-ware provided in the apartment.
Please note that there are 2 toilets and 1 bathtub. There is a washer but no dryer. Please do not use the washer unless personally shown how to by the host.
