The SpaceValley View Cottage is a totally self-contained cottage on a large garden site in a residential area and has peaceful garden, mountain and valley views, yet is only a few minutes’ drive to town centre (1.6km). The cottage has loads of old world charm combined with modern amenities and has plenty of room for family and friends to have ‘get-togethers’, and is also ideal for business people visiting the area. There are three bedrooms, and the base tariff includes the use of two queen bedrooms with a modest extra charge for use of the additional king single beds in the middle bedroom. All beds have comfy pillow top mattresses, electric blankets for winter and ceiling fans.
The bathroom facilities are really good for multiple people staying as bedroom three has an en-suite bathroom & toilet, and the family bathroom consists of a large bath, large shower recess and a vanity basin, then there’s a separate toilet with another basin in the powder room.
The kitchen is large with granite benches, loads of cupboards and everything you will need to cook for a family, and the appliances are a gas cook top, electric oven, dishwasher, microwave, kettle, toaster, rice cooker, lots of dishes, pots and pans etc.
A quiet, carpeted sitting room at the front of the house near the front door has 40” flat screen TV plus BluRay player, and the informal, tiled living/dining room also has a flat screen TV. This living room opens to an enclosed, child-safe back balcony with outdoor furniture and an electric barbecue.
A front loader washing machine, clothes drier, iron, ironing board, clothes horse and external clothes line are also provided.
Two cars may be parked on the property in the double carport, and any additional vehicle may park behind one of the cars or else in the street.
The exterior of the home has the typical verandah of the era running across the front and side of the house, and he balcony across the rear is perfect for enjoying the view – including the cows which sometimes wander nearby, and listening to the frogs which may be heard at night time. Tariff is based on maximum four guests in two bedrooms, with the exclusive use of the whole house except for the bedroom not booked, which will be locked, this is, however available if you have a 5th or 6th guest at an additional charge. Interaction with GuestsWe ask that you advise us of your approximate arrival time so that we are available to welcome you at the property, show you around and answer any questions, and as we live not far away, we are readily available to help if there are any queries.
If the weather is cold we will have the heating on, or if hot, the air conditioner. If you advise that you have been delayed and will be arriving very late, we shall have some lights on for you (in addition to the security lighting), and organize a key to be made available. We usually then come and meet you the following day to say ‘hello’ and to help or advise with anything. We are only there if you need us, and don't wish to intrude on your privacy.
For weekly bookings our cleaning team changes all the bed linen and towels and cleans the house at an arranged time to suit everyone. The NeighborhoodWarragul is predominantly a dairying district and has a thriving, family-centred country township, with coffee shops and restaurants, and has gorgeous scenery including farming land, rolling hills, mountains and forests, waterfalls, cheese making, historic towns, State Parks, all well worth visiting, and not too far away either. Warragul is a good base to stay and drive and visit some of the nearby attractions. You can drive to gourmet food places, historic towns, beaches, mountains, mountain cycling, and there is skiing in winter at Mt Baw Baw.
There are numerous wineries, one being Wild Dog Winery which won the 2015 award for the best restaurant associated with a winery in Australia! There’s more to do and see than you would imagine, and we have listed others in our brochures and booklets in the cottage. Warragul is a great place to visit, and is only just over one hour’s drive from Melbourne. Also don’t forget all the terrific local markets featuring local produce and quality handmade articles – the closest market being the Warragul Farmers' Market which is held on the 3rd Saturday of the month, and the Warragul Arts Market is also held on the same day from October to March. There are a couple of local bus services which pass the property and which can take you into the Warragul township or train station. Other Things to NoteOur tariff for Valley View Cottage is based on the use of two queen bedrooms for up to four guests, with an additional charge for one or two more guests for use of the middle bedroom which has 2 king single beds. You won't however, be sharing the cottage with anyone else if not booking all three bedrooms.
The internet may be connected via WiFi, and is very handy for emails and internet useage, however it is not really suited for file sharing and downloads as there are data limitations. The code to connect to Valley View Cottage WiFi is listed in our very handy Information book.
