Spacious 2-room suite with private deck and entrance in a small, log home B&B; at 4200ft elevation, with panoramic cascading mountain views. Ideal for 2 guests, it does have trundle beds in the second room, so can sleep 3-4. Nights can be cool even in the summer, so bring a jacket and at least 1 pair of long pants. There is a long range mountain view out of every window! Located at the edge of Linville Gorge, 3 miles from the Blue Ridge Parkway, between the exits for Grandfather Mountain and Linville Falls. You can watch sunrise and sunset from the property. You can see Mt Mitchell, Linville Gorge, Hickory, Lenoir, Sugar Mountain, and Roan Mountain [TN]. We are away from the hustle-bustle of the High Country, where you can truly get some stress free relaxation. Wake up to the aromas of a delicious breakfast prepared by a professional chef. We use local farm-fresh eggs, ham, bacon or sausage, local potatoes or grits, home baked biscuits or toast, jam and real butter, orange or apple juice, fresh percolated coffee with real cream, and always end with a "dessert". This can be apple dumplings, French toast, or the most delicious pancakes you've ever tasted! Chef Al adds whatever he finds to his big, fluffy pancakes which always come with real maple syrup [banana, blueberry, pumpkin, peach, strawberry or plain]. Vaulted ceilings in main bedroom which has a custom made king size log bed. We use 100% cotton sheets and towels. This suite has a small fridge, microwave and an outside deck. The Bed and Breakfast offers free Wi-Fi and satellite TV. There are 5-6 restaurants within 6 miles. Excellent location to get away from hectic city life, and to reconnect with mother nature. This area is a nature lover's paradise, and is located at the edge of the High Country, away from the congested tourist areas. Endless hiking trails of all levels are all around us. Horseback trail riding available in several locations. You can enjoy canoeing, kayaking, zip-lining, white water rafting, fly fishing, trout fishing, and more in the area. Wine tasting available in 5 local wineries located from 5 miles to 15 miles away. The fall season is a beautiful time to visit this area. The fall foliage is amazing with vibrant colors all around us during the month of October. The grounds of the B&B; have a gazebo to sit and relax, a picnic table, and a fire pit to sit by, should you want to make a fire. We are located close to Table Rock, Hawksbill, Linville Falls, Banner Elk, Valle Crucis, Boone, Blowing Rock, Spruce Pine, Lake James and Price Lake, and about an hour from Asheville, NC, and Johnson City, TN. We are 2 hrs from Charlotte. PET Friendly with restrictions. Please inquire. Dogs must be fully potty trained and friendly with people as well as other dogs. Any dog left alone in the suite MUST be crated, and all dogs on a leash when outside unless arrangements have been made. No dogs in the dinning room. We are trying to remain dog friendly, but some people always ruin it for the rest, so we shall see how long we can keep this. Pet Fee is $10 per day. This is a quiet, peaceful area with little traffic. You will be awakened by the sound of birds chirping. It is a place to connect with nature, with lots of greenery all around. Enjoy gorgeous sunrises and sunsets, plenty of hiking, walking and horseback riding. For those that prefer less strenuous activities, there are caverns, gem mining, antiquing, quaint stores, outdoor music, and wine tasting at numerous local wineries.
