The SpaceOur bright and charming cottage is located on a quiet street, a short three-minute walk from downtown Joseph. You’ll be greeted to expansive views of the Wallowa Mountains from the front windows and treated to amazing sunsets from the deck. It comfortably sleeps 4 guests and offers a large, fenced backyard for your fuzzy friends. Serendipity Cottage is the perfect choice for travelers that are looking for a peaceful, recreational basecamp with easy access to Joseph’s shops, galleries, restaurants and bars. The home features two bedrooms, each with a luxurious memory-foam mattress (one king and one queen), one bathroom, a full kitchen and cozy living room with a gas fireplace. The small patio with incredible views of the Wallowa Mountains leads to a large, fenced backyard that is perfect for your pup and yard games. The cottage is furnished with an eclectic mix of old and new, making this feel very mid-century modern. You can expect: --1 king bed in bedroom 1 --1 queen bed in bedroom 2 --a couch, a couple chairs, our infamous "pig table" and a gas burning fireplace in the living room --A full kitchen complete with full size stove, oven, refrigerator, microwave, toaster, coffee pot, crock pot, hand blender, etc along with all flatware and dishes. --A bathroom with tub/shower, toilet & vanity. --A small deck with deck chairs --A large, fenced backyard --A dog friendly environment for gracious guests. We do not currently charge a pet fee! Please help us keep it that way by cleaning up after your pet inside and out. --Wifi access This is a completely smoke-free home and grounds. If you are a smoker, please make other accommodation choices. Guests will have full, private access to the home during their stay. Make yourself comfortable! We are happy to give advice and point you in the direction for great hiking, biking, rafting, skiing and other outdoor adventures. Joseph, Oregon is a quaint town of about 1500 residents, tucked into the Wallowa Mountains on the north edge of Wallowa Lake. We love Joseph because it is the gateway to endless hiking, biking and skiing opportunities, as well as, home to friendly and colorful locals. Known as "Little Switzerland," once you have visited, you will never want to leave. We chose to purchase in Joseph, rather than Wallowa Lake because we like the easy access to amenities like restaurants and shops, and we like the sunshine! The homes in the community of Wallowa Lake are tucked right up against the mountain-side, making the days feel shorter and cooler once the sun goes behind the mountain. Where ever you choose, this neck of the wood is amazing. We think you'll love it here! That weekend we fell in love with Joseph, the Wallowa Mountains and the amazing locals that live there. We frequently visited Joseph for 15 years before we decided to purchase a home. After diligent house hunting, our real estate agent insisted we look at an adorable cottage we originally resisted because it was a bit out of our price range. When she led us into the front door, we instantly knew that the house felt familiar. As it turns out, this cottage, OUR cottage, was the exact house that my coworker lent to us 15 years prior. It was serendipitous. Meant to be. And now it is our little piece of paradise that we are excited to share with you. Guest AccessGuests will have full access to the house and yard. The best way to learn about Joseph is through its people. Getting AroundYou will have parking available in the driveway (up to 2 vehicles) and limited street parking. The cottage is within walking distance to everything Joseph has to offer. Guest AccessThe common area features a large flat screen television and a DVD player. There is a spacious yard and deck for guests to enjoy. Weather permitting, breakfast is served on the deck so that guests may enjoy the beauty of the surrounding mountains. A refreshing creek runs down one side of the front yard. There are no kitchen privileges due to regulation. Interaction with GuestsI live on site. Your host dog is Bentley who loves to play with guests and their pets. I have an indoor/outdoor cat, who stays in my space while inside. She does not have access to the guest rooms. I am happy to provide information for local restaurants, attractions, events, hiking, etc. Wine and snacks are provided each evening for guest enjoyment. I encourage you to take the opportunity to get to know the other guests at breakfast or evening social time. The NeighborhoodCreekside Country Haven sits upon a knoll surrounded by acres of grassy pastureland. Access off the highway is an easy 2/10 mile drive on our dead end lane. So quiet! Other Things to NoteThis is a bed and breakfast, but breakfast is optional and additional during off season rates. There are two other guest rooms not listed yet, that may be available.

The SpaceEnjoy Joseph, Oregon’s unique treasures that range from natural beauty and art to extraordinary outdoor adventures. Base yourself in the center of the action by staying at Mountain Works Vacation Rental located on North Main Street. This happening getaway feature your own pad with a kitchenette, queen size luxury bed and spacious back yard. In a addition, there is a twin bed in the back room and a hide-a-bed sofa for the tag-a-longs. Guest AccessWallowa Lake, Wing Ridge, art galleries, coffee and more are close by. Do note that during the summer months there is a open air business in the front yard and the street is called Main Street for a reason. Interaction with GuestsWe would love to help you discover the adventure you are looking for and are more then willing to answer any questions about the house or the area. The NeighborhoodMake sure to experience the Joseph Branch Rail Riders. They lure their clients to adventure in the front yard of the bungalow. Red Horse Cafe has excellent coffee and goodies. If that is not your choice; there is always something else happening in town. Getting AroundParking is in the front or back and walking is always a pleasure. Public transit mostly missing except during the summer. Other Things to NoteAt check out I do ask that you clean up after yourself. Please strip the bed, put your laundry in the the laundry room, wash your dishes, return furniture to its original location and take the garbage out. When you are done the house should only require a light final cleaning to get it ready for the next guest. Media piracy is a crime. My internet provider takes note of file sharing and will turn off the internet connection if it happens.

The SpaceLocated on the banks of the wild and scenic Imnaha River, the River House is peaceful, and private. Enjoy fishing from the front lawn, picking ripe tomatoes from the garden, and fruit from the orchard. Relax in the hammock. Our comfortable home is furnished to reflect our western heritage. Bedrooms are outfitted with queen beds and down comforters and we are limited to six quests. Guest AccessThe River House lies in the heart of the Nez Perce homeland surrounded by National Forest. On one side, Hell's Canyon (the deepest gorge in North America), and on the other, the Eagle Cap Wilderness. Interaction with GuestsWe try to meet with guests when they first arrive but our home is thirty miles away so contact is minimal. The NeighborhoodThe best thing about the neighborhood is that there are very few people! You may see elk, deer, bear, cougar, bobcats and all manner of birds and river life. Know that there are three kinds of snakes in the canyons. Bull, blue racer, and diamondback rattlesnakes. There are many back-country trails to explore and sight-seeing opportunities. Getting AroundNo public transit available. Bring your own car. Most of the back-roads do not require 4-wheel drive, but it is advisable if you want to get out and really look around, to have a vehicle with good clearance. Other Things to NoteDon't get locked out! As soon as you arrive and unlock the front door, reach around and manually twist the deadbolt open! The nearest hospital is forty minutes away. Swim at your own risk. Please bring a flashlight!

The SpaceThis beautiful home on the shores of Wallowa Lake is perfect for your family vacation! Fantastic gourmet kitchen with what has become known as "the Big Dog" frig! All the conveniences of home in the kitchen, as well as a front load washer and dryer. 4+ bedroom, 3.5 bath home has a sweeping view of Wallowa Lake and also has a custom built, private boat dock for your use (May 15 to Sept 10). Luxury linens on all of the beds. A king in each bedroom, and the "plus" room has a bunkbed with a double on the bottom, twin on the top. 3.5 bathrooms include a luxurious master suite with a soaking tub and a double shower. Upstairs bedroom with a king has a private balcony and private bath. Main floor has king bedroom with adjoining bath. Lower level has the master suite with king bedroom (and the fantastic bathroom!), other lower level bedroom has king bed, sliding glass door onto a patio, and off to the side is the "plus" room with bunk bed. 2 car garage and carport for your use while you stay. This home will have wi-fi, expanded cable, flat screen tv`s, dvd players, ipod docking station, and vcr. Sleeps 10, parking for 4 cars. We ask that you launch the boat, then pull the empty trailer into the parking area. You might have to unhook and manually maneuver it around to the parking place. Please do NOT take a boat into the driveway. 2) Docks are kept in the water from 5/15 to 9/6. However, if water levels drop below safety levels, we may have to pull them earlier. This is considered an act of nature--no refunds will be given if we do have to pull the docks early. 3) Observe the 25 MPH posted speed limit along Lake Shore Drive. Many of these houses are owned by local people and would greatly appreciate your slower speeds.

The SpaceThis large, single level, riverside cabin offers plenty of room for family groups or as many as three couples to spread out. The master bedroom suite includes a queen bed, bathroom and sitting area that has a hide a bed and a small TV with built-in DVD player. The other two bedrooms have comfortable California king beds. The bedroom “wing” of the house also includes a newly remodeled bathroom with new tub and shower, vanity and improved lighting and a small utility room with washer and dryer. The kitchen/dining area, with windows overlooking the Wallowa River, has a large table as well as a long counter area with bar stools. Included are a new stove, dishwasher, microwave, sink and countertops. The kitchen opens to a large patio that is perfect for your outdoor dining and relaxation with a table, chairs and gas barbeque. It is also a great place to relax with a book and with sounds of the river in the background. The rustic living room, which has plenty of seating and a gas insert in the river stone fireplace, was the original cabin. When installing ceiling lights as part of the recent remodel, the contractor discovered that the south wall is made of thick, solid logs. Framed photos show the original cabin before there were other structures in the area. An old photo of the original hand-carved mantle is displayed but you can take your own photo of the carved greeting “WA-NE-KA”. A huge flat screen TV on the living room wall is connected to cable TV and a Blu-ray player. If needed, the sofa includes a queen hide a bed. Outside amenities include tall fir and pine trees, views of the river and mountains and a large lawn area with perimeter fences for safety and privacy. There is also a two-car garage for overnight secure parking. This location provides easy access to all of the activities at the south end of Wallowa Lake. The SpaceRoom eight at The Jennings Hotel was designed by yours truly, Greg Hennes, proprietor. The walls are clad in tamarack and fir reclaimed from a sawmill in the county and were milled by our local sawyer, Jim Zacharias. The floors are leftover boards from re-milling the walls and feature a whitewash finish. There is an all tile shower stall, built in cabinets and a fantastically comfortable queen size bed with down comforter. Guest AccessGuests will have access to their room, our communal kitchen, the library and sauna. Our downstairs neighbor Arrowhead Chocolates, brews Stumptown coffee and serves a fine selection of teas. They also make an unbelievable array of delectable chocolate truffles in house. Interaction with GuestsI'm usually working around the hotel, so unless I'm out of town, you'll be able to track me down for your needs. The NeighborhoodJoseph is the prototype for a charming mountain town and The Jennings is perched in the middle of it all. The best coffee and chocolate in Eastern Oregon is downstairs, the post office is literally across the street. You're a block from the grocery store, and within 4 blocks of all the restaurants, shops, museums and attractions on Main Street. Getting AroundIf you're planning on hitting the town, there's no better place start than The Jennings. You can walk to all that downtown Joseph has to offer and 2 of the best wilderness trailheads in Oregon are within 5 miles. Other Things to NoteThe Jennings is a hotel in progress and as such, you may encounter some dust. I like to think of it as bits of magic finding their way into the world. This project is a labor of love and the dust is a byproduct, it's not a sawmill or a flour factory, but don't expect an Intel cleanroom, either. I typically try to keep noise levels low when guests are staying, but there may occasionally be some hammering at respectful hours.

The SpaceTwo different mountain views and the seclusion are only two of the points people rave about when describing this log home! This home is located at the South end of Wallowa Lake, away from the activities by about 1/2 mile. Nestled up in the mountains, you won`t be bothered with the drive-by traffic or the foot traffic. Open floor plan between the kitchen and the living room. Queen bed and twin in 1st bedroom, double in 2nd bedroom, upper bedroom has a queen sized bed in one, and a queen and a twin bed in the other. The double futon is in the loft area. Be sure to bring your slippers to this home as there is tile in the house! Shower tub combo on the main level, shower on the upper level. Getting AroundIf you're planning on hitting the town, there's no better place start than The Jennings. You can walk to all that downtown Joseph has to offer and 2 of the best wilderness trailheads in Oregon are within 5 miles. Other Things to NoteThe Jennings is a hotel in progress and as such, you may encounter some dust. I like to think of it as bits of magic finding their way into the world. This project is a labor of love and the dust is a byproduct, it's not a sawmill or a flour factory, but don't expect an Intel cleanroom, either. I typically try to keep noise levels low when guests are staying, but there may occasionally be some hammering at respectful hours.
