The SpaceThe "Triangle" is a contemporary 1200 square foot home, just a two minute walk to the ocean and fifteen minute walk to Kehena black sand beach. We are just as close to "Kalani Oceanside Retreat", where you can dine, dance, yoga, or get great massages. Ocean Spirit is set in an ever blooming beautiful garden of palms, hibiscus, boganvillia, coconuts, papaya, and banana trees, etc. The house is literally a three sided triangle building, with walls of windows, looking out to the garden and sea. Six large timer ceiling fans keep you quite comfortable. The sun streams through stained glass windows in the morning which is quite magical. A dedicated WiFi will keep you entertained and in touch with the outside world. The triangle has an open floor plan, and works well for intimate groups and large families. The bathrooms are downstairs, one inside and one outside just off of the patio. Both have walk in shower. The inside bath is beautifully done in imported Balinese river rock, glass brick, and finished with Italian mosaic tiles. while the outside bathe is all done in bamboo and stained concrete. The upper floor has one queen size thick futon, two twin beds, two full fold down couches, as well as a spacious sitting area with a LED flatsceen TV with ROKU(Netflix, Youtube, etc., and a DVD player.

Interaction with GuestsHaving had much luck with AirBnB's more EXEMPLARY guests, we are blessed to have you stay here with us. It is mine and Michaels' goal to interact as much (or as little) with you as is necessary, and hope our relationship is fun, informative and mutually beneficial. No more and no less. The NeighborhoodHere is a recent quote from one of our guests:
"This is probably the coolest house in the coolest neighborhood on the Big Island. You'll be in the Seaview neighborhood, a block from the lava rock shore. Seaview is filled with friendly island folks and retired hippies who say "Aloha" when they pass you, and most everyone knows the Triangle House complex. Some people know it as the " Cheese House," because it looks like a wedge of Swiss cheese lying on its side, with each stained glass window a hole. You're living in a gorgeous jungle, with great ocean access, a plethora of interesting artists, and alternative living folk, with the best neighborhood spirit I've seen. Every Wednesday, practically the whole community of the Puna district ends up at a bazaar on the edge of civilization where the 1970 lava flow literally rolled over the city of Kalapana, called "Uncle Roberts at the End of the Road." I don't know a better way to say hello to a new community than that. Randall is a great owner/manager. He's a craftsman who cares a lot about the building, and has improved its' initial design for the people who stay in it. MIchael, the onsite Innkeeper, is super easy to work with. He's been doing constant gardening and upkeep on the property. It was designed by an architect who had a dream about "round holes and square pegs" and designed a property with a Triangle house, a Rectangle house, a Circle shaped water catchment, and two Square sheds. There's also a real life castle one block away. It's like living in a dream." Getting AroundThere is very limited public transportation here. A bus to and from Pahoa town, and/or Hilo city runs through the area only one block away, but only twice a day. It is definitely suggest that you rent a vehicle for your commute, but more daring folks will hitchhike or walk. Hitchhiking is technically illegal, but is not frowned upon by most locals.
