Our family lives in a 4 bedroom new house with plenty of open space living, on the north side of Brisbane. There is me, a female adult and 2 boys who live in only 50% of the times when they are not with their father. Our home is less then 5 minutes walk to bus station, 15 minutes walk to train station, 5 minutes walk to the corner shop and around 25 minutes walk to a major shopping center. There are lots of schools and shops within walking and short bus trips distance. We have a very large and modern kitchen with gas stove, a dining room and a space for the guests to set up another living room area for themselves only, if they wish. There also is a living room with pool table and a yoga studio they can also use by request and mutual understanding. There are 2 spacious bedrooms available in a private area of the house with their own shower and toilet to be mostly for the sole of our guests. The house is on elevated grounds with lovely gardens around, in a small and new estate, very quiet and safe. There is a lovely 8 seats outdoor setting that our guests are welcome to use, as well as a new bicycle that they can borrow during their stay.

We are a vege couple in our thirties, who enjoy meeting people from other cultures. One professional, and one student. We live 45 minutes north of Brisbane City (driving and train). We are close to the train station. From where we live, it's an hour drive to the Sunshine Coast (north of Brisbane), or another 40 minutes to Bribie Island. The house is medium sized with a large back yard, with an under cover area and BBQ. Both of us are educated and interested in language. One of us is a Linguist, and keen to practice my German skills! The other has very basic Spanish, but always eager to learn more. In saying that, we are happy to help you with your English, or have a quick read over anything that needs proof reading. We enjoy going for beers, particularly in outside beer gardens and getting to know people- we're not interested in all nighters any more though!

The Space"Oaklands" is our home and the cottage, which is the B&B, is part of it. The cottage is attached to the main house and was a dairyman's home (c.1904). We have renovated it so that now it offers you very comfortable and entirely separate living. Privacy is a major feature of your accommodation at "Oaklands". The 2 bedrooms are spacious - 1 with a queen bed and the other with 2 single beds. As we don't offer cots, babies and toddlers stay free, but you must provide their bedding, your child's sleeping gear, baby and/or toddler food and other requirements. Children above 2 usually require most, if not all of the requirements of an adult - a bed, bedding, towels etc, and breakfast. Obviously we will provide all of those things. This means that children over the age of two are subject to the tariff as publicised on our Airbnb site. Both bedrooms have plenty of wardrobe space. Both bedrooms have ceiling fans and reverse cycle air conditioning. There is a separate living area with TV and kitchen facilities (microwave, crockery, cutlery, glassware, coffee and tea making items/facilities, an electric kettle, refrigerator, sink, breakfast bar with four stools). It too has an air conditioner and a panel heater for cool winter mornings. You have your own full bathroom. As well there is a second toilet in our laundry which is in the cottage. All your linen and towels (pool and bath) are provided, of course. There are plenty of private verandah spaces for you to chill out on. A very comprehensive breakfast (including seasonal fruit, juice, muesli, bacon, eggs etc) is included in the tariff. Other breakfast arrangements can be made at an additional cost. You would need to chat over this option with us. Our home is on 5 acres (2 hectares) which is largely covered in a woodland through which there is a short walk ... sometimes you will see wallabies and other wildlife. From "Oaklands" it is a short 4 km drive to the Dayboro Village which has typical village facilities, including a pub, a couple of coffee places/restaurants, supermarket etc. We are about 45 mins by car to the International and Domestic Airports, the Brisbane CBD and the Sunshine Coast. Lovely surfing beaches are as close as 60 minutes easy drive away and the beaches at Redcliffe on Moreton Bay are only 40 minutes away. As well, we are about 15 minutes from the train to the city. North Lakes shopping centre is about 25 mins away and apart from being a large modern shopping complex, there is a Costco and soon to be an IKEA. There is easy access to the main North/South highway - and then only one hour's drive to the lovely and exciting attractions to the north - the Glass House Mountains, Australia Zoo, Underwater World and to the south - Dreamworld, Movie World, Wet & Wild, Sea World and more. There are many walks within 30 minutes drive from of our house, if that is your thing. Ann and I are flexible and enjoy meeting and looking after visitors. Guest AccessGuests are entirely self sufficient. The cottage has a main bathroom and a second toilet. Guests have the place to themselves and have as much or as little to do with us as they want. you can come and go as you wish and wander around the 5 acres to your hearts content. Interaction with GuestsThat really depends on the guests - as much or as little as the guests are comfortable with. We generally work this one out on the fly. The NeighborhoodWe are about 100 metres off Dayboro Road, completely private behind considerable infrastructure (tanks, garages etc) and a mature planing of rainforest trees. We are directly opposite the bus stop to and from Petrie Station. We offer you parking close to the cottage and well off the road. Getting AroundWe are 4.4 kms from the village of Dayboro. There are four informal eateries and a pub. As well there is an IGA, a post office, a service station, other village stores and a chemist. Further afield, is Samford (about 34 kms and 27 minutes away) and the Petrie-Strathpine-Kalangur shopping precincts about 15 kms and 20 minutes away. The giant North Lakes giant shopping precinct (complete with Costco and Ikea) is 23 kms or 27 minutes away. There are abundant nature areas within a short drive. We are close to both major wedding venues - Glengariff is 13kms and 11 minutes away. The Ocean View Winery is 20km or 19 minutes away. The popular and quaint Henzell Chapel is 18 kms or 16 minutes away. Other Things to NoteToddlers and babies stay free. That is because we are not set for very young children and parents provide their child's sleeping gear, baby and/or toddler food and other requirements. Children above 2 usually require most, if not all of the requirements of an adult - a bed, bedding, towels etc, and breakfast. Obviously we will provide all of those things. This means that children over the age of two are subject to the tariff as publicised on our airbnb site. Our laundry is in the cottage. Normally, short term guests (1 to 3 nights) do not require to use the laundry. However we are happy to allow guest's use of the laundry and the associated facilities free of charge. Because it is the only shared facility it is mandatory for guests to negotiate the use of the laundry facilities with us either on arrival or at the time they book through Airbnb. For guests who wish to stay for longer periods (7+ nights) and avail themselves of the 10% to 20% discount, we would not provide the full and comprehensive breakfasts that are normal for shorter stay guests. We would provide more basic breakfast items which we will negotiate with the longer stay guest. We do not accept single booking for a single night. Given the fact we provide all your breakfast goodies, have the cottage completely clean and prepared for each stay, and we don't charge a cleaning fee, a single person single night stay is not worth our while at the rate we charge. The SpaceG'day mate! Our clean and neat house is here to welcome guests all year round. Situated in the Warner suburbs, this neighbourhood has a safe and friendly feel to it, with a park just across the road, where you can enjoy a nice summers day, soaking up the heat and utilising the bbq that is provided. Perfect location for enjoying local scenic walks and the sounds of Australian birds in the early hours of the morning and at sundown. We generally work most days, and therefore will leave you to do as you please, providing you with information to work the TV in your own room, or in the rumpus room, use the wi fi and just chill in the pagola. However, with that said, we are always available for you to ask any questions regarding tourist information and advice. In terms of transportation, there is a bus that practically comes outside of our house, that will take you to the nearest train station. From there it is a 40 min train ride to the city. (URL HIDDEN) OR if you feel like staying in the area: The bus can take you to the nearest shopping center, 10 min bus ride, where you can shop for clothes, shoes, electronics etc. Our house is located half way between the gold coast and sunshine coast, so if you have a car it is very easy to jump onto the highway and head either north or south. Or if you are wanting to catch public transport it also is easy to get there and back! We do also offer more local sightseeing aswell; Mount Glorious is a beautiful natural hill top that offers cafes, some spectacular forest walks as well as several BBQ areas set in rolling parkland. Quite a remarkable destination that is only 20 minutes from our house. Guest AccessGuests are welcome to hang out in the living room and watch TV and make themselves at home Interaction with GuestsWe are here to answer any questions you have about the area, and are always welcome to give you tourist advice and brochures. We wont always be home, however when we are, you have the option to have as little or as much interaction with us. There's only three of us living in this large spread out house, and my parents and I are down at the other end of the house, so most times you will have complete privacy. The NeighborhoodMy neighbourhood is very family friendly and safe. There are several parks around the area and plenty of walking tracks for you to take a stroll. There are buses very close for those who want to get out of the area for the day. Food places are only a 10 minute walk, depending on how fast you walk. Getting AroundPublic transport is literally outside our door. The airport is only about 40 mins away, if not stuck in traffic

Enjoy watching the grazing cattle and wildlife. We can advise you on the best places to visit in the area. We welcome wedding guests and are very close to Ocean View Estates, Glengariff and Birches restaurant. The NeighborhoodRural countryside - mountainous terrain. Cooler in summer and cosy fires in winter. Lots of trees and wildlife. Peace and quiet. A sanctuary away from the city noise and stress. As a special treat I can organise a 2 hour Wildlife Session for you. Just around the corner from us we have a wildlife carer who loves to show you her local baby wildlife - wallabies, possums, gliders. Getting AroundYou will need to come here by car. Other Things to NoteThe internet is via your mobile phone. It is sometimes not a strong reception due to the lack of towers in the area. (we have been promised a new tower at Mount Mee)

The SpaceOnly 50 mins from the CBD yet see the city lights twinkling in the distance. Have a glass of wine on the verandah while you cook your dinner on the BBQ. The cabin is small and cosy, with a kitchenette, sofa and a comfy double bed, with quality fresh linen. Guest AccessThe cabin is privately screened from the main house and accessed via its own path from the driveway by the side rose garden. The garden, the tea house, and the garden table are all there for you to enjoy. You can be totally independent, but I'm there to help if needed. Interaction with GuestsI'm a private person, and will always respect your privacy, but I'm happy to share local knowledge and history, and point out places of interest as you may need. The NeighborhoodIt's peaceful watching the light fade over the forest as the evening comes in, listening to the birds' last calls as they head home. Mt Glorious is a small village; only a couple of hundred residents who care about their special environment. Getting AroundYou will need your own transport. There is off street parking. Other Things to NotePet dogs are negotiable but only smaller dogs that are house trained, and are not aggressive towards my poodle. Cats aren't appropriate due to the wildlife. Water is from rainwater tanks storage but there are two efficient filtering systems (down to 1 micron) so very safe . There is a composting toilet which works efficiently and without any odour.

    River Views at Griffin B & B is set in a quiet rural haven set on the mouth of the Pine River, just north of Brisbane. There is direct access to the water from your room with views across the water to Brighton stretching right up to Mt Cootha in the west. We have accommodation for up to 2 adults in a queen size suite with private ensuite. Breakfast will be a 'Breakfast Basket' (pastries, cereal, toast, selection of green and black teas, coffee, fruit, fresh yoghurt and fresh bread) in your room. Once you are on the highway it will take you under an hour to get to stunning beaches of Sunshine Coast, which is 77,6 km away from us. There are bus stations within walking distance and lots of little shops and cafes just around the corner. There is a train station 5 minutes walk from the house that will take you to Brisbane CBD in an hour. The train goes every half an hour & is a perfect option to get around for guests without a car. Going to city you would catch bus 671 or 669 from Elmwood drive stop to Bray Park station and catch the train Caboolture-city line. The origin of the township can be traced to the late 1860s when a coach service between Brisbane and Gympie stopped at Tom Petrie’s Murrumba homestead (built 1864). Petrie opened a hostelry in 1870 and official recognition of the locality came in 1872 when a post office was opened. The place was known as North Pine, the name continuing until 1911, the year after the death of Tom Petrie. A primary school, a Methodist church and a Presbyterian church were opened between 1874 and 1984. The northern railway line through North Pine was opened in 1888, and a fine example of a timber school of arts followed in 1890. North Pine was an agricultural district and in 1905 its Agricultural, Horticultural and Industrial Association held its first agricultural show at what is now Wyllie Park where Gympie Road crosses the river.
