The SpaceThis is a semi-luxurious self-catering lodge, situated deep in the Hoedspruit Wildlife Estate, 45min. drive to the Kruger Park's Orpen Gate. Guest AccessWe offer guests a Pick & Pay food store, butchery, chemist, liquor shop, restaurants, a day-spa [pedicure, nail bar and skin care] with coffee shop, sushi bar and tourist shops all situated next to the entrance to the estate. We have a tuc-tuc scooter shuttle service to provide transport [at an additional fee] to and from the shops – this way you will view wildlife in a somewhat different style – another bush experience! No cleaning services, but this can be pre-booked at an additional fee. On the estate you may go on the estate`s various game drive routes, view dams with elevated bird hides where animals and birds quench their thirst. Roaming freely are impala, kudu, zebra, giraffe, warthog, eland, wildebeest, waterbuck [to name a few] and 170+ bird species. We sometimes encounter hyena, leopard, lion and wild dogs, making your visit even more excited and with ample opportunity for good photos. Hoedspruit is part of Greater Kruger Park and situated in the centre of the Big 5 with Kruger’s Orpen gate 40 min. Wildlife Activities: Hoedspruit Cheetah Project, Mholoholo Rehabilitation Centre, Blyde Spa, Hoedspruit Spa, Mapusha Weaving, Swadini Snake Park, Kapama elephant back safaris, hot air ballooning, Jessica the hippo, the silk farm and much more! Panorama Route: Three Rondavels, Blyde River Canyon, Bourke's Luck Potholes, God's Window, World's View, The Pinnacle, Lisbon – and Berlin Falls and Graskop Gorge - all within a 1.5 hr day-trip from the Estate. Lots of small gift shops and restaurants on the way. Fishing & boating on Klaserie Dam. Blydepoort dam offers game viewing excursions, white river rafting on Blyde River or in the Olifants gorge [Abel Erasmus Pass]; game view cruise on a sundowner's boat cruising the Olifants River Golf: Hoedspruit Drakensig Club [9-hole] overlooks Drakensberg Mountains. Hans Merensky Course [18-hole] is on the edge of Kruger Park - here animals have the right of way! Phalaborwa [Hans Merensy Golf Course] is 1 hr. travel from the estate. Hot & cold weather can be expected at any time with chilly evenings. Please use sunscreen to protect your body against the severe African sun, especially the Limpopo area. Hoedspruit and Kruger are malaria areas in summer months only [we suggest you use anti-mosquito lotions and citronella candles when sitting outside at night. Arrival 14:00; departure 10:00. Speed limit strictly enforced at 30km/hr – hefty speeding fines. Enjoy the wildlife and laid-back [s]low-veld living! NO noise or parties allowed – this is enforced by management and culprits will be escorted out of the reserve. No motor– or quad bikes allowed in the estate [bikes on trailers included]. Day-trips into the Kruger Park makes the wildlife estate very popular. You have all the amenities needed to make your trip worthwhile, i.e. own private pool; aircons [Hoedspruit temp. very high in summer months] and full satellite tv; BBQ area under the tree and the wildlife roams freely. Getting AroundTransfers from Phalaborwa and Hoedspruit airports if needed. Tuc-tuc taxi in the estate to transport guests to the shops.
