The SpaceTHE HISTORY: Part of the legendary horse camp: a one of its kind.
Historically, our property was part of the legendary River Kwai Horse Camp, established by the late German polo trainer, who moved from Bangkok not long after the end of WWII to give birth to the horse riding camp, a first of its kind in Kanchanaburi, if not Thailand, almost 70 years ago. Today our residence is physically still part of this uniquely historical place that occupies approximately a woodland of 28 acres - a largest green space nearest to town.
THE PROPERTY: LUXURY ESCAPE in the beautiful surrounding
Situated in a woodland of approximately 4,800 sq. m., our residence is bordered by the River Kwai horse riding camp on one side and pineapple plantation on the other side. This area is isolated from a busy tourist street near The River Kwai Bridge, though we are only 6 km. from town., and 2.5 km. on a back road to the Bridge.
Secluded in a rural Thai village only 400 m. from a touristic Saiyok 323 highway, our place always surprises guests with its soothing serenity and astonishingly peaceful atmosphere.
THE RESIDENCE: Timeless Elegance. Oriental Charms. Homey Feeling.
The two-storey building is surrounded by a tropical garden and nature, occupying over half of the whole property. This house-cum-luxury residence was constructed as a home office eight years ago, and has undergone a big renovation to accommodate guests with special interest in a non-conventional place to stay.
THE DESIGN: Colonial architecture. Contemporary. Oriental Heritage.
The main building design is a perfect blend of the influences of Colonial architecture as seen in Asia and a simple but stylish contemporary design. The interior design is directed by our personal passion towards a timeless charm of classic styleก furniture and the cosy touch of the Oriental and Thainess. As similarly important, we integrate the natural elements, i.e light, views of nature and cheerful energy, into the whole design in order to make our residence a truly luxury escape with a touch of nature around.
THE ROOM: Cosy. Stylish. Functional Luxury. Modern Comfort.

We are located in an old village called Tha Kokwua (literally Ox Pier) on a back road, merely 2.5 km. from the River Kwai Bridge and only 6 km, from Kanchanaburi town centre.
Note: public buses and trucks run only on the main road (323 highway). No public bus on a back road.
EXPLORING THE NEIGHBOURHOOD:
An easy stroll through a local area can also be made by crossing a bridge across the scenic River Kwai in a less touristic area. The back road running pass the House is regularly used by local Thai cyclists due to its much less traffic and its country surrounding.
Public health office is on the opposite of the main road, and a 24 hour private hospital and a rescue centre can be reached in 10 minutes.
Opposite us is a small meditation centre run by Thai nuns and next to it is the village cluster of some 30 households. Local villagers run farm of small sizes that include lime, banana and pepper. Beyond this is the Greater River Kwai dotted with fruit orchards and small settlements. The bridge across the river (but not that River Kwai Bridge) on the main road 323, about 500 metres from where we are, links us to another old village of our close neighbours.
WHERE TO EAT LIKE LOCALS.
Easy to find places to eat and drink around. Opposite us on the main road 323 is a simple but superb local Thai restaurant, located by the river. It provides good quality food with very reasonable price and has been popular among Thais, both local and tourists, for its good reputation. Seriously spare one meal for it once you are here. If you want to try authentic Pad Thai (Thai-styled fried noodle), go for another 10-15 minutes to Ladya area, and you will find Sun Heng restaurant (Thai residents of Chinese origin) that has created its own Pad Thai legend. Very popular among locals, super busy during weekends, especially lunch time. Booking ahead is recommended if you plan to go for lunch or just avoid lunchtime. Go earlier or later would be wise.
WHERE TO GO FOR DINNER?
- Try Jub Jang Jo restaurant by the main road, about 3 km. from our place, if you want to really what local Thai people do appreciate. Food is excellent and very reasonable. Unknown among tourists.
- Try Khrua Thammachart, a small one hidden on a small back road by the river near us. Food is superb, with some excellent seafood dishes.
- Want a nice view? Try one of the restaurants near the Bridge in a tourist area. Food is good enough.
- Feel like having some German fried pork? Go to Mae Nam Floating restaurant on the river in town, about 8 km. from our place. It is terrific. You couldn't believe it!
WHERE TO GO FOR A NIGHT LIFE?
Backpacker strip connecting to the Bridge over the River Kwai is a highlight for nighttime scenes in town. This is where you can find bars, pubs, restaurants, groceries, pharmacies and mini-marts. Even you are not a kind of late owl, you will simply find it fun to walk, look and see. About 4-5 km. from where we are.

Guests or quiet seekers coming here with their own/rental cars will find it a perfect stay in a quiet but isolate woodland, separating from the busy touristic areas and mainstream accommodation nearer to the Bridge. However, those who come by public transport may find it a bit uneasy to get around because it is beyond a walking distance to key attractions, i.e. the bridge and shopping areas. However, well planned trips in line with the timing of local buses and trucks can make your commuting smoother.
Please also kindly be informed that we also give our guests taxi/transfer services as optional. This is to ensure that getting around is as most convenient as it should be for every single of our guests.
We have bicycles for our guests to rent for a bike ride around our neighbourhood and getting around the town.
