The NeighborhoodQuiet and safe neighborhood, with just a few houses around in a unique location next to an overgrown flume with plane trees and oaks. To the north, you see the back face of the towering granite starkness of the Rock of Exombourgo, where ruins of the medieval city of Tinos lay, along with traces of earlier cities dating back to the Prehistoric and Geometric Eras; chapels on the heights, dovecotes and small settlements of previous years.
In walking distance from the house there are picturesque historic villages. You can go walking through the beautiful arches, wasted white steps, arcades and narrow alleys. Getting AroundThe location offers easy access to the traditional settlements of northern Tinos, inland areas, upper areas and the island’s lovely beaches. The old roads and cobblestone pathways that go through Tripotamos on their way to Chora and Endochora are ideal for hiking and in their greatest part, are well-maintained and marked. Close to the house at the villages of Karya, Ktikados and Chatzirados visitors can find traditional tavernas.
There is an amplitude of paths for anyone who would like to discover the island by hiking. I can give detailed directions for the network of paths, or if you would like, this is a pleasure we can share together. I can lead you through the pathways to the interior landscape of the island which has remained unscathed by foreign intervention, walk through cobbled roads and paths, enjoy the rocky surroundings of the Tinian hinterland, lined with dry stonewalls, made by brilliant builders who merged them with the environment.
Moreover, one can go mountaineering or even rock climbing on the granite rock of Exombourgo. For bouldering enthusiasts Tinos offers a unique and outstanding variety of granite-rock fields, in the village of Volax and nearby meadow of Kakia Skala, the beach of Livada and more. Other Things to NoteI ask of all guests to enjoy their stay, feel free to contact me if needed and be respectful of the house, as it is my own, made with love and care.
