The SpaceThe Victorian Rose has a great view of the Kootenay Bay, and the Osprey 2000 Ferry when it docks. In the evening the sunsets are beautiful with the motion of the waves crashing on shore if a person takes time to listen. A guitar in hand at a gathering around the fire pit when its passible, is a great time, especially for the young ones. Guest AccessThe fire pit in the evenings when possible the private boat launch and beaches within a two minuet walk down on the west and east side of the ferry landing. The NeighborhoodThe trails in the area are spectacular to hike, from easy to hard. The lighthouse hike is a must and only 15 minuets hike. Kayaking is great when the lake is like glass, especially in the early morning. Golfing the local courses is a great past time, wether your a pro or amature. The wild life in the area is in abundance but please be bear aware, also when the fawns are with their moms do not go near them. Getting AroundIf getting over to Nelson is a worry cause the husband has the car, their is a transit bus that comes to Balfour just off the ferry, the times can be found out ask the hosts. Other Things to NoteIts possible that power interuptions occur when wind and lightening come thru so, when this happens water might not flow dure to a well pump needing power.
