Typical NZ Bach of 1950/60 vintage.
Sit on the deck and watch the movements in the village, walk along the beach at low tide to see if the swimming hole is there or us it sanded up. It changes with each tide. Walk round the village and interact with the locals.
No mobile phone coverage.
Television in Bach.
Just so there are no surprises, it is an adventure in itself to get there. The road is hilly and bendy. Along the way though, there are three wonderful natural free attractions that you can stop at for a breather. It's 58km from otorohanga but it takes just over an hour to get there, probably allow 90 mins without stops.
The house has everything for living. Just take yourselves and your own personal things and groceries for your stay. There is a small shop there at the motor camp.
Nobody there but the locals. We will tell you where the key is.
Friendly bunch of Bach owners and the occasional retired person who lives in the village.
No public transport. No mobile phone. Nobody else at the Bach. Leave it as you found it and put the key back. ! Important.
Fishing for kahawai at the mouth of the river if u have your own fishing gear. Bait or spinner.
