The SpaceOur mid-century modern home is our pride and joy, and we are excited to have travelers come stay with us to enjoy it. The house was built in 1959, it is a 1250 sqft home with two bedrooms (one is ours), two bathrooms (one is ours), and an office. We have equipped the home with most of the common amenities, but have a few extras you can only find here with us!
The guest room has its own TV, comcast premium cable package, and a blu-ray player. We have many movies to choose from if you wish to watch in your private space.
On warm summer nights we often relax in our backyard; occasionally host gatherings for outdoor movies, bon fires, and casual bbq dinners; and we have a large garden area with some of our favorite veggies and herbs which guests can use when cooking. Guest AccessAs our guests you have full access to the private guest room, and shared bathroom, kitchen, living room, laundry facilities and backyard. Interaction with GuestsI work from home. I'm available to assist our guests just about any time they need it. I lived in Portland for over 12 years and have an intimate knowledge of some of the area's best hiking, eating, and touristing spots in the valley. Daniel, my husband, is available to assist guests in the evenings if needed.
We have a cat, Monster, who is not exactly friendly, but is not scared of people. She is never allowed to hang out in the guest room, and keeps to herself most of the time. We suggest for her good and yours that you just let her do her thing.
Mostly we keep to ourselves and are always respectful of your privacy first, but should you want to hang out, watch a movie, share a meal, play a game, or chill by the fire pit with us, we are up for that too. The NeighborhoodOur little neighborhood is pretty quiet. We are walking distance (less than a quarter mile) to the bowling alley, grocery store, public transportation (bus), bike routes, and parks. Some of the most popular attractions here are wine country tours, Salem Fairgrounds, Oregon Gardens, Silver Falls State Park, and a whole lot more... Getting AroundThe house is in a convenient location just off the Salem Parkway from I-5. Portland is 45 miles away, Eugene is 70 miles away, just under 16 miles from Woodburn, and Lincoln City is 61.2 miles to the West.
Please park your vehicle in front of the house not in our driveway. Bus stop is 2 blocks away on River Road. Salem's Train Station is 4 miles away. Fairgrounds are very close, and just about everything you need can be found on River Rd. Just two blocks away.
