Our Society operates many community development programs as well, so if you would like a taste of both the wildlife and the culture of Belize, you are in for a treat if you decide to book a cabin at our location. We also have a licensed guide on the premises who can lead you in any activity you desire, both on-site and to surrounding locations for cave tubing, cave kayaking, climbing, wildlife viewing, sailing, beach trips, snorkeling on the Barrier Reef.....you name it! The master bedroom and main floor terraces will be screened in. The home is fully furnished and sits just 200 ft from our development’s water canal and has some small water views. The master bedroom has a queen bed with built in storage. The 2nd bedroom has 2 twin beds also with built-in storage. The main floor living area has a full size sleeper sofa. . The main floor terrace will be screened in as well complete with an outdoor fridge and ceiling fan for added comfort for lounging outside. Our home is located in the peaceful and private Sanctuary Belize, which is a 35 minute scenic drive from Placencia. Sanctuary is a very safe, guard-gated community with 24 hour security. We have a beautiful beach club that lies right on the Caribbean with free WiFi. Sanctuary is 15-20 minutes from majestic waterfalls and zip lining. There are several options to get to Sanctuary Belize from Belize International Airport. You can take a short 25 minute puddle jumper flight to Placencia, Dangriga or Kanantik airports to get to Sanctuary. There are a few good vehicle rental places in Placencia. Our property manager can also offers recommendations and pickups from airports. The home is over 90% complete and is currently liveable. The construction completion date is July 2015.                   Coati Cabin is a quaint, clean, and comfortable wooden cabin with a large deck overlooking the Maya Mountains and lush jungle that can host a small group or family of 5 or less. Shared showers and toilets are detached from the cabin. The beds can be arranged bunk- style or the upper bunks folded up against the walls and the two single beds made into a King for couples. Coati Cabin is a single unit and does not share a deck with another cabin, making it ideal for couples wanting their privacy.

                  The SpaceOur jungle cabins are situated on a gorgeous 200-acre property comprised of tropical rainforest and organic orchards which boasts abundant plant and animal life and a gorgeous small river that runs through the property with a refreshing swimming holes just a five minute walk through the orchard from your cabin! We have a vast trail network, including a long hiking trail that leads into the Sibun Forest Reserve and up to a beautiful 3-tiered 300 ft waterfall! The property is operated as a research and education center and although many of our clientele are student research groups, we also welcome anyone that desires to experience what is like to live and explore at an active biological field station! Our Society operates many community development programs as well, so if you would like a taste of both the wildlife and the culture of Belize, you are in for a treat if you decide to book a cabin at our location. We also have a licensed guide on the premises who can lead you in any activity you desire, both on-site and to surrounding locations for cave tubing, cave kayaking, climbing, wildlife viewing, sailing, beach trips, snorkeling on the Barrier Reef.....you name it! Guest AccessWe have a communal dining area and an amazing cook who can cook you up delicious Belizean/International fusion dishes. In our lounge you can access our Wifi (slow, but not bad for the jungle!) and also choose from a selection of movies if you wish to take an evening "off". We also have a lovely little boutique stocked with beautiful local crafts as well as t-shirts and local specialty food items. Finally, a beautiful screened yoga platform with breathtaking views of the Maya Mountains is available for use during your stay and we sometimes have visiting yoga instructors on-site. Self-guided yoga is always available of course! Interaction with GuestsWe are a hosting center and our staff is always on site to assist you with any of your needs, be it to have your cabin cleaned, your meals prepared, or your activities planned and adventure trips booked. The NeighborhoodOur closest community is the small village of Mile 28. We have a close relationship with this community and if you are interested in immersing yourself in a traditional Central American village, we have some lovely neighbours that would be happy to take you on a tour of their beautiful fruit orchards. Getting AroundWe are located right off the Hummingbird Highway at Mile 27.5 and easily accessible by vehicle (free gated parking by your cabin) or by public bus. Just ask us for directions and let us know how you are traveling. We are about a 40 minute bus ride from Belmopan going south, or Dangriga going north. Buses run every hour. It is about a 1.5 hour drive from the Belize City airport and about the same amount of time from Placencia. Other Things to NoteIf you do wish to have meals during your stay with us, you will need to let us know at least a day in advance as well as whether you have any dietary restrictions. Meal rates vary depending on the number of people in your party as well as whether or not we have other guests on site. Typical prices range from between $9 US and $15 US/meal and meals are buffet-style and include all of the fixings and non-alcoholic beverages. Soda and beer/wine are available on site at affordable prices. Though we do supply towels for all guests, we do not supply shampoo and conditioner or body soap. Showers are hot/cold and toilets are flush toilets. Both buildings are shared with other guests. We have one listing, The Casita, that does have a private bathroom. Purified drinking water is available at several locations throughout the property for all guests from our well and UV-filtration system. We are a pet-friendly location! Just please notify us in advance if you intend to bring your pet as we do have a dog and three cats and we will need to make advance arrangements to make sure everyone gets along. Though lodging can be paid through Airbnb, any other add-ons such as meals, beverages, gift shop purchases, and activities can be paid on-site in cash or via Paypal.

This home will allow you to enjoy much of the nature central Belize has to offer without the concerns for insects and pests joining you in bed :) This home features a large balcony with access from each room as well as full array of exterior sectional couch as well as lounge chairs. Explore the walking trails that extend into the woods, or walk through the still growing orchards. This home has a large open concept living area including the kitchen, living, and dining room. A 14' door opens the home to the exterior living space. The central open concept interior also features a large dining room table made from exotic Belizean bullett tree, dual waterfalls, 10 diameter Big Ass fan, and an eat in kitchen island. The family room (living room) area features hemp rugs, 10' long daybed couch, chairs, coffee table, and TV with stand. Each master suite has its own bathroom with a shower, toilet, and 2 sinks. Each bedroom area has queen bed, side tables, and desk. Local Belizean artwork throughout the home will make you feel comfortable but with local ambience. This home gives renters access to the Sittee River Wildlife Reserve, belize's largest privately owner nature reserve. This 10,000 acres encompasses 5 different Eco Systems and is the only development on Earth that can claim that. Renters get access to Sanctuary Belize amenities including the Beach club with pool and hot tub, the marina (boating and docking fees extra), and Sanctaury Caye (private island - although boat trip to island not included in base fee).
