The SpaceWe have a great non-smoking in-law suite at the rear of our home with a private entrance. It is located on a quiet street in a residential neighborhood and is set-up as a self-contained apartment. It has a kitchenette replete with refrigerator, microwave, toaster, coffee maker, etc. Bedroom has a Queen size bed. Sleeper sofa folds out to a Double size bed. Bathroom has toilet, sink, and stand-up shower. We believe we have it set up to be a very nice place to stay. We do not accept pets or those who smoke as guests. Smokers will not be allowed to stay in our home. We ask that smokers, please look elsewhere for more suitable accommodations. Guest AccessDuring the warmer weather, our patio is furnished with table and chairs for your use and you have access to our gas grill. Interaction with GuestsThe suite is located at the rear of our home. As we mentioned earlier it has a separate and private entrance. Depending on our work schedules, one of the two of us is usually around if we are needed. Tim is not available while at work. Jim is usually available by text. The NeighborhoodWe are in a quiet residential area on the South side of Kenosha. Shopping and all the necessities nearby. Access to and from the Interstate is simple and convenient. Getting AroundKenosha has public transportation (two blocks from our house) Taxi service is also available. There is a train which runs between Kenosha and Chicago several times each day. Other Things to NoteTo be fair and consistent and mindful of future guests who may have sensitivities, we do not accept animals in our unit. Not to say that yours would be an issue. We have owned rental property for a long time and from past experience we have found that a "no animals" policy served us best. We are non-smokers and keep sensitive exotic birds in our home. We do not accept bookings for smokers. If you or member of your group is a smoker, we ask that you look for other more suitable accommodations that will fit your needs. The SpaceAs of Oct. 1st, we moved the horses to a winter location. We are located in the heart of Kenosha. A fine little town right between Chicago and Milwaukee. We are located on 5+ acres. We have horses on the property that lives in the lower part of the barn. If you are allergic to horses, this place is not for you. We prefer a minimum of two nights on weekends. There are 3 sleeping areas- but not 3 bedrooms. I am a photographer and most of my work is location photography. I decided to make my barn/studio into an airbnb place. The barn has three levels with the top level a nice room with a queen bed and work desk. There is also a lounging area. The second level has a full size futon as well as a lounger that could sleep a smaller person or child. The second level is also the "studio" primary shooting area. It is unique, funky and fun. The first floor has a kitchenette. A sink, fridge, as well as a microwave, and a small toaster oven. There is an eating area for two or three. There is also a full size hide-a-bed and a lounging area as well. There is a nice full bathroom on the first floor. There is a gas grill available for our guests so feel free to bring what you wish to cook on the grill. Just added bluetooth to the stereo system- and it rocks- lots of great sound to fill the space so bring your tunes with you to enjoy! There is quite a lot of shopping as well as local events in the Kenosha area. Less than an hour away from Chicago, Milwaukee and Lake Geneva and minutes from Lake Michigan. We are always happy to make suggestions. While the listing does say 4, the space could accommodate more. However, it might be a bit too cozy for some. There does seem to be some confusion on the AC- there is air conditioning in the barn. I have 3 units, however I do not run them all the time unless guests want to run them. Most people seem to enjoy the open breeze- we are only about 1/3 of a mile from the lake so we are usually cool. Guest AccessGuests will have access to the property and the studio can be used for photography for a small additional fee. In fact, to add to the uniqueness, we can even provide a teaching/tutor session for $40.00 per hour. If you like, we can add a photo session for you and your party at an attractive rate as well. Of course this does depend on my time and availability. There is absolutely no pressure to do anything at all other than enjoy your stay. It is just an opportunity that we think could make your stay an even better experience. Interaction with GuestsInteraction is totally up to the guests. We can spend as little or as much time as you desire. Our home is on the property, so we are generally close by if you need us. The NeighborhoodI love that the property is close to everything, (driving of course) and at the same time has tons of privacy. You can have a "night fire" if you choose and no one will bother you. If you ride bicycles, the bike path is about a minute away and you can ride for hours. Getting AroundOnsite parking is available. I would recommend having/renting a car as public transportation is not close by. You can bike while in town or you can use a local taxi service. There is bus and Uber service from both General Mitchell Airport in Milwaukee and O'Hare Airport in Chicago. Other Things to NoteThis space is a work in progress. It is unique and an artists space. As the space continues to evolve we will update with photos as well. Access to the 2nd and 3 level is with a spiral staircase. As mentioned earlier if you are allergic to horses, please do not book this space. As far as other animals, we have a cat and a dog that are rarely in the space. The space has a 20 gallon water heater so showers may need to be planned accordingly if there are more than two people looking to shower.

Guest AccessI don't allow parties with extra guests but I encourage you to make use of the space and have your own special evening. The city of Kenosha is looking at ordinances because of complaints regarding homes that are not owner occupied and resulting in loud parties. Interaction with GuestsI am on the premises or can be reached by cell phone at all times. The NeighborhoodI am within walking distance of the lake and parks, several art museums, and local restaurants . Getting AroundOff street parking can be accommodated in my driveway. Other Things to NoteI love our local dining and prefer to stay away from chain restaurants. For breakfast I refer to Franks' Diner or The Coffee Pot. For a nice lunch or stop for coffee I recommend The Buzz. For pizza I recommend Villa D' Carlo or Kaisers. For a more formal night out I highly recommend Mangia's, Sassy B's, Wine Knot, or The Hob Nob.

The SpaceOne block from Lake Michigan! 3 bedrooms one bath small ranch, with French doors leading to a large stone patio. Can you see yourself grilling or having a fire? There are Beautiful views of Chiwaukee Prairie and just steps from public access to Lake Michigan. How about a drink in the hot tub while admiring the changing foliage? Guest AccessThe entire house! Interaction with GuestsYou will have the entire house to yourself. I live in Libertyville. The NeighborhoodI love how quiet it is. I only have a neighbor on one side of the house. Getting AroundThe house is a few miles from Metra and it is an easy drive to Kenosha, Milwaukee and Chicago with the highway close by. Other Things to NoteWhat should I expect from the area/house? Get out and explore the coast and beautiful places around the area. That is why I started my Airbnb. I wanted to share with others my love for the area. I wanted to provide a lovely comfy family room kitchen area with a soft couch and plenty of eating area. And nice comfy beds with clean nice linens and a clean adequate bath. It's in my eyes the kind of place for those who want to leave their cares behind and relax and just breathe. This isn't a glamor house. I liken the experience of staying there like a beach cottage. It's simple and adequate and almost plain on purpose. This house is a lake side cabin/cottage. If I was renting it for 350 per night yes it would have to be perfect. But then again that's not the point. Is there a kitchen? The Kitchen is fully functional so making breakfast is always an option. There are just the basic pots and pans. If you are planning on cooking gourmet meals maybe plan ahead for that. How would you describe the house? The house is a fun setting and to enjoy ones self here is to to go a bit and live a little simpler and rustic. This house is a gem by Lake Michigan with everything you need. What is the house like? This is a rustic 1950s home. There are more light fixtures in the house than what are needed. Some bulbs are left out on purpose. What is the condition of the house? We just added the third bedroom and so we are slowly completing the cosmetic touches like finish work like trim and paint. When I started the remodel, I didnt realize how much it would be booked (a good thing). Lately, it's been rented solid. The remainder of the painting and molding will have to wait. I figured with the winter coming up that may be a good time! But it's such a great spot it is still booked!! I'll continue to work a little bit at a time to complete the little cosmetic details so my Airbnb guests can enjoy this wonderful part the country. I hope this elaboration into my purpose and description clarifies. Just come enjoy the nature that surrounds. And be grateful for how gorgeous of a spot this is. Leave your worries behind and get to know yourself again. This is my authentic answer to my past Airbnbers and their questions and concerns. Airbnb on and enjoy life more judge less. Authentically and warmly, Michelle Sharon

With gorgeous views of Lake Michigan and Wolfenbuttel Park directly across the street, this house includes a private garden where guests are welcome to relax and enjoy themselves, and a screened porch out front, to sit and watch the sunrise and contemplate the beauty of the lake. Guest AccessGuests are encouraged to use most rooms in the house, including the kitchen, dining room, and living room. The private garden, and screened porch in front are also free to use. Only the owner's personal room, office, and attic spaces are off limits. Both bathrooms (one downstairs and one upstairs) are shared, but each has a shower, so there shouldn't be much competition in the morning. Interaction with GuestsSince I work at home, I'll be available all day, M-F, to assist you or answer any questions. On weekends, I will be around less, but still available. The NeighborhoodThis home is in the perfect location, at the northern edge of the Historic District, directly across the street from Lake Michigan and the Southport Marina. The Electric Streetcars can be boarded just a few blocks from the house, and 6 bus lines can be accessed from downtown to take you just about anywhere you need to go. Kenosha also has several cab services. We don't have city bikes yet - but I'm working on it! Other Things to NoteGuests are welcome to use the wireless/Internet on their personal computers. You are also welcome to use the refrigerator/freezer, and cook during your stay. So long as you clean up after yourself, I'm easy going about using the kitchen and appliances. The butlers pantry is reserved for guests, which I've stocked with a few pots, pans, dishes, coffee pot, and utensils for use. The downstairs living room has a stereo system, and television with DVD/Netflix for streaming. No cable however. I have a cat, so hopefully, you aren't allergic.

The SpaceI love my building! It bright and cheerful with most of it newly renovated. This storefront building has two apartments upstairs and a 50-seat Actor's Craft Seventh Avenue Theater and Acting Studio below, which is handy if you want to improve your acting or public speaking skills while in Kenosha. It is a great location across from a church with two restaurants on the same block with outdoor dining, one with a view of Lake Michigan. It is walking distances from lots of cool stuff in Downtown Kenosha. Guest AccessYou will have the two-bedroom apartment to yourself. The deck has two chairs on which to enjoy the fresh air and watch passers by. If you are here on business, there is a large desk area at which you can meet with clients and get lots of work done. Interaction with GuestsI operate the Acting Studio downstairs, and I live close by if you need me. Kenosha is my favorite place I have ever lived and I have lived in Chicago, Los Angeles County and San Diego County. I am happy to expound on all there is to see and do. Additionally, the Kenosha Area Convention and Visitor's Bureau has a wonderful magazine that I can give you with lots to do in Kenosha. Their website offers coupons, discounts and has a list of 101 Things to do in Kenosha for $10 or less. The NeighborhoodWe are at the gateway to Kenosha's Downtown Arts District which makes this location a great combination of family neighborhood and Downtown charm. You can take walks along side streets with peoples homes, or you can enjoy window shopping and visiting art galleries and museums in Downtown Kenosha, or you can stroll by the lake and harbor, or you can go to the beach. At night, music night spots and great specialty restaurants for every budget are walking distance. Outside dining is all around Downtown. Breakfast right down the block at the Coffee Pot or walk a few blocks further to other diners and coffee shops. Across the street at the Boat House, you can eat lunch and dinner at tables overlooking the harbor. On Wednesday nights in the summer, listen to the Kenosha Pops at the band shell. On Thursdays at lunch time and in the evening, listen to live bands just a couple blocks away as you picnic on the grass with hot dogs from Trolly Dogs and popcorn from Sandy's Poppers. On Saturdays, enjoy live music and local produce and hand-crafted products at Kenosha's Harbor Market. We have a sculpture walk down by the lake, with some interactive sculptures. Getting AroundYou could stay downtown the entire time, walk to everything, and not get bored. I love downtown! There is a Trolly you can ride within a few blocks and that will take you down along the lake to another downtown harbor, historic lighthouses and piers and park and 3 of Kenosha's 4 museums. The main terminal to the bus system is also only a few blocks away and that will take you all around Kenosha. The Metra Station is a 10 minute walk away (on the Trolly line) and you can take the train to downtown Chicago. If you have a car, pretty much anything you need in Kenosha is a 15 minute drive or less. It is so convenient! Or you can drive to Milwaukee (35 minutes), Great America (25 minutes), Lambs Farm (40 minutes), Bristol Renaissance Faire (20 minutes), Prime Outlets for lots of shopping (20 minutes). Other Things to NoteThis apartment is on the second floor. There are 16 steps. For most people, this is not an issue. But be aware if you have elderly guests coming with you, that 16 steps can be hard for them. I have two chairs on the deck. If you have small children, they should not be left unattended with the door to the deck open. They could climb on the chairs and might get over the 46 inch high railing. If you have little ones, open the windows down from the top (not up from the bottom) so they won't push through the screen and fall from the second story windows. These are common sense and plenty people with small children who live on the second floor have to take these precautions.

The SpaceThe space is plenty for at least four people. Large sofa with Chase make an extremely comfortable lounge area for friends and family. The Bathroom is so nice. Your family will be yelling at you to get out, because you are taking to long. Piping hot water and great pressure for the shower. There is also marble countertops in there. For those who like to feel fancy. Great backyard with garden and access to the grill, for authentic Wisconsin brats! Loud stereo and surround sound system. 'Please Be respectful' Guest AccessThere is a third bedroom on premises which will be locked, the house also has a basement that will be locked. The rest of the house is free to roam. We have a large driveway and plenty of on street parking. Interaction with GuestsI probably won't be around to bug you, unless you want me to bug you! Lol. Although If I am needed. I normally won't be far away, so please don't hesitate to shoot me a text or call. If you have any questions on recommendations of food or activity, or want to go out for drinks :) The NeighborhoodQuite friendly neighborhood, one you can let your children ride bikes care free. Far enough from traffic you don't have to panic. Close enough to restraunts and food so it won't ruin your mood. Getting AroundThere is public transportation bus that come's to the corner every hour, a dollar or so for the fair. Also the cab company is a short call away. I would highly recommend having a vehicle unless you bring a bicycle. Other Things to NoteI can be extremely flexible in order to work with my guest.
