The SpaceThe Dragonfly is a 200 square foot rustic cottage. ("rustic" is code for no running water, television, and wi-fi only in driveway and decks).
It has a Queen size bed, electricity, small fridge, electric fireplace for those chilly evenings, electric kettle for hot drinks, sawdust composting toilet, fresh drinking water will be provided, outdoor solar shower in the warmer months (anything above 50 or so is "warmer").
No television, but the radio does get NPR. Guest AccessGuests are welcome to wander the gardens, use the firepit, taunt the frogs in the pond (verbally only, no physical contact, it annoys the amphibians, and no one wants to deal with angry frogs). Interaction with GuestsWe will be in and out, we are happy to tell guests about the area (winery one mile away!) and also happy to just wave in passing. The NeighborhoodHolmes County is rural, western Holmes county more so. We are located 14 miles from a stoplight in any direction.
Expect horse drawn buggies and wagons on any of our roads, as well as tractors, bicycles, walkers, and deer.
Farm stands, shops, good food, cheese houses, bulk food stores, and lots more to see.
Most local restaurants are closed on Sunday, fast food places are open, as well as a few other choices.
Being very rural means there is no pizza delivery (or other food delivery services). The nearest Pizza shop is about 6 miles away. Getting AroundThere is no public transportation available, so we are not suitable for those not having a car or bicycle for transportation. Other Things to NoteVerizon is the only cell phone coverage.
Leslie can sign, (exact english, not ASL, but can understand ASL if guest is willing to be patient).
