Our home is a lovely year round 3 bedroom bungalow in Constance Bay, a cottage area. It's only 1/2 hour from the centre of Canada's Capital City, Ottawa, where there is so much to do and see. Our beach is safe for families to enjoy swimming, boating and other water activities. A canoe is available. My husband may be available to go out on the speedboat on weekends, where you can waterski or tube. Great fishing on the river. We also have a hot tub. We can sleep up to 6: one room with two double beds and one with a double bed. Our kitchen was installed in 2013 & as a home economist, I can promise you will love using it. In winter the river freezes and ice fishing and skidoo-ing are popular activites. We have a large garden with a BBQ available for your pleasure. Enjoy outdoor dining or in a gazebo during summer. My husband and I have travelled extensively. Currently , we live in Canada and are originally from Scotland The village hosts a few restaurants and beach front pub, local liquor store and grocery all within a short walk or cycle; 2 bikes available. My husband, is an electronics engineer, while I enjoy the luxury of being at home. We love the beach we live on and would thoroughly enjoy introducing it to you. We can accommodate a variety of groups. As a home economist, I can provide a selection of meals, to accommodate most dietary diets, at an additional cost.

Should you require any additional information during your stay I am a phone call away and often just across the street in my studio. If you prefer an intimate private stay our little studio loft is the perfect retreat, you will not be bothered. The NeighborhoodOur studio loft is situated in the perfect location to enjoy all that the downtown core of Almonte has to offer. Within two or three blocks you will find all the amenities and a rich trove of galleries, shops and restaurants. The Old Town Hall is next door for concerts and cultural events. The historic Old Post Office also next door houses my gallery "The Stairwell Gallery" as well as the Italian restaurant "Café Postino's" There are 13 eating establishments for every taste, 4 art galleries, 3 antique shops, a bakery, a butcher (which also offers some fresh produce, cheese and local eggs), the library, the beer store, LCBO, and numerous other wonderful shops all within 3 blocks of your accommodations. Getting AroundA car is necessary to get to Almonte. Once here parking is free with your accommodations. Almonte is located about 20 minutes from the west end of cosmopolitan Ottawa, or approximately 50 minutes from Ottawa International Airport. Other Things to NoteHistory: Thoburn Mill is located over the upper set of falls, Shipmans Falls, in Almonte. Over the years Shipmans Falls has powered a sawmill, a grist mill, and from (phone number hidden) the mill operated primarily as a woolen mill producing gray flannel. Since 1956 it has been repurposed for various businesses including some I fondly remember. Almonte's first Gym (now located on Ottawa street) was located in the back of the Mill overlooking the falls. The industrial space was a great place to work out and I do think I have never been in better shape than the years I worked out there. There was also an antique store on the first and second stories which I would frequent often. I still have a few treasured books and some furniture purchased there in the early 90's. I like to think of the time I spent browsing the east second floor area - part of which is now our little studio loft space! In 2000 the space was converted to a number of unique condominiums and small businesses. There was great effort put into maintaining the character of the space and retaining as much of the original structure while also introducing contemporary details of quality and integrity.
