The SpaceThis room is in an shared older home that has been completely renovated. The charming character of old trim and accents are enhanced by modern and clean construction. Being an older home, there is only one shared bathroom. Guest AccessThere is ample parking at the home. You may not need your car as the house is located in the core of town just a tiny walk to downtown and the beach. Interaction with GuestsI do not live on the premises but I will look forward to meeting you at least when you check in. There are likely other guests in the house in their own private rooms. The NeighborhoodYou will love the proximity to downtown and the lake. Enjoy cycling the paved, quiet country roads surrounding the community. There is plenty of nice walking, running and cycling on the unique trail system along the river and lake. These are accessible in the core of town and right from your front door. Getting AroundWalking or cycling is my favourite way to get around. However, it is easy to drive or taxi in the area. Other Things to NoteIf you run, bike, swim, canoe or kayak I just might join you (if you don't mind the company). There is a Tim Horton's a half block from the house.

The SpaceA cosy and rustic family cottage in Inverhuron, just outside of Tiverton and close to Kincardine. A short walk (8 minutes) from Inverhuron Beach and a short 5 minute drive to Tiverton for your LCBO and grocery needs. Also in town is a great pub, The King & Pearl. The cottage has two full bedrooms and one semi-private. There are a total of 5 beds. Bedroom 1: 1 double bed Bedroom 2: 1 double & 1 single bed Bedroom 3 (semi-private): 1 double bed This cozy and homey cottage was built in the 1950s but has been extensively renovated. A new full kitchen with fridge, range, toaster, kettle, waffle iron, pots, pans, dishes and everything else you might need in the way of tools. A propane BBQ is available for grilling, or for the full cottage experience, there is a fire pit! Roasting marshmallows while sitting around the fire pit in the many comfortable chairs and looking up at the starry sky is a great way to spend a summer night! (We even supply the marshmallow roasting sticks!) The beach is located a short walk down the main Inverhuron road on which we are located. For fun at the beach we have beach chairs and beach umbrellas for you to use as well as "water noodles", water paddles, and an aquatic football. Back at the cottage there are also frisbees, a badminton set and horseshoes. The cottage is located on a large lot (60 x 200 feet) surrounded by forest on three sides creating a very private experience in the back yard. There is space to easily park up to three cars in the driveway. For an evening indoors, the cottage is equipped with a television, VCR, DVD player, and stereo with iPod dock. Also for your enjoyment indoors are decks of cards, a cribbage board, backgammon set, rumoli kit, scrabble game, jenga and dominos! Bring your own sheets and towels. Pillows and quilts are provided for you. Our cottage has its own dedicated well. The water in this region is 'hard water' (mineral rich). The well water is tested twice each season by the Ministry of Health. While it is completely safe to drink, it does have a distinct taste/odour, so we prefer buy bottled water to drink. The water is, however, completely safe and tested. We use tap water for brushing teeth, washing dishes and vegetables, etc, and bottled water for cooking, drinking, making tea, etc. This is a family cottage with a long history (built by my mother in the 1950s). Because it is so close to our hearts, we will only rent to responsible guests who will respect the cottage, its contents, and the property. Guests who book a stay in our cottage agree to the terms and conditions listed in the "House Rules" section in addition to the standard Airbnb policies. Renters must have a fully completed profile that includes "OfflineID" verification and a clear, recent, face shot photograph. IMPORTANT: June and September, minimum 2 nights. July and August, minimum 4 nights. After booking, you will automatically receive a link from Airbnb to our Renter's Info document. Please review this document carefully and contact us with any questions in advance of your visit. Thank you! The NeighborhoodInverhuron is a small village of cottages and homes on the shore of Lake Huron just north on the coast from the town of Kincardine. Inverhuron beach is characterized by fine sand and crystal clear water. Large sandbars allow swimmers to walk out for a few dozen meters and still be only waist deep! Kayaking and canoeing are popular sports along the nearby Saugeen River. Just up the road (5 minutes) is the village of Tiverton. A great pub (The King and Pearl), a country grocer, several antique stores and gift shops are located there. Kincardine is a vibrant small town of 11,000 with a proud Scottish heritage. Each summer, Kincardine hosts the Scottish Festival that includes a huge bagpiping competition attracting bands from across Ontario and the Northeastern U.S.A. In the historic downtown you'll find independent shops, restaurants (including an espresso bar and steak house), and cottage industries. Canada Day in Kincardine includes a fabulous fireworks display! Famous Sauble Beach and the town of Southampton are also nearby. Inverhuron Provincial Park is just down the road and McGregor Point Provincial Park 25 minutes drive away. Other nearby sites include Point Clarke.

The SpaceI offer the type of experience I would like to have when I travel and stay at someone's B&B. My home is old Victorian, built circa 1863. It's an escape for the adventurous type and those who do not want to settle for the generic white-wash experience. If you are looking for a substitute for a hotel, this is not the place for you. My home has character "wrinkles' that can only come through weathering 153 years of existence. I am a sole proprietor . . . meaning gardener, indoor/outdoor maintenance crew, cook, cleaner, receptionist, secretary, accountant and hostess. I invite you with open arms to come enjoy an experience at my Haven For Those Who Love Art. PLEASE READ THE ENTIRE DESCRIPTION AND AMENITIES BEFORE BOOKING. Please note: You must be cat friendly because I have indoor cats. Please note: I do not have air conditioning. If you have become accustomed to air conditioning and are more sensitive to heat and humidity, this may not be the place for you. The rooms have window breeze and fans. Add some live theatre, music festivals, art galleries, good restaurants, the surf, sand and sun . . . maybe even a day on the golf course or at the spa and you’ve got yourself a complete cultural experience that rivals any riviera in the world. Centrally located; 2 long blocks to quaint downtown Kincardine and 1 block to the beautiful pristine beaches of Lake Huron. Stroll down the boardwalk to the sleepy harbor at sunset and listen to the Phantom Piper as his haunting tune calls out to the hearts of seafarers and landlubbers everywhere. You can’t go home until you’ve paraded down Queen Street with Kincardine’s finest. Yep, the pipe band! Every Saturday night at 8 pm sharp our men and women in kilts make the march through town like the Pied Piper with hundreds of followers. They lead the happy human mice back to the park and play until dusk. Breakfast is NOT included. I usually have complimentary coffee and home baked muffins. Room #1 is a small room with a double size bed, desk and closet. It faces the back of the house and is decorated in soft blue pastel colors. The sound of the waves can be heard to lull you to sleep. The 3-piece bathroom is next door and is shared with room #2. The NeighborhoodAll areas of town are safe. Getting AroundKincardine does not have public transportation such as buses, trains or subway. It's a small town with 2 taxi services. It's a quick walk to the beach and downtown shopping and restaurants from my home.
