The SpaceOur 2 bedroom/1 bathroom house is the perfect spot for a family with kids (up to 8 total) or 4 adults! We will consider more than 4 adults in some cases. We do not charge more for children, so you don’t need to include them in the guest count for your inquiry. The house includes a large covered porch and an open concept kitchen/dining area with cathedral ceilings. Follow the pine staircase to the cozy living room loft for an evening movie on Netflix. One queen bed, two sets of bunk beds (with railings if needed), and a queen memory foam sleeper sofa provide lots of sleeping options. Washer and dryer are easily accessible in the full bathroom. The home and yard have complete privacy, with no other home in sight on the private road. Guest AccessWe will have fresh bed and bath linens upon your arrival. We have all dishes, utensils, cooking tools, and most appliances that you will need. You are welcome to use our wireless internet, DVD collection, Xbox Kinect, board games, Netflix, and Hulu account. Although we have gas heat as the primary source, we have a wood stove that you are welcome to use if you can do so safely. We also have a nice propane grill available for your use! Interaction with GuestsWe would love to be in contact during your stay if you have any questions or concerns. We want your visit to be so easy and enjoyable that you'll want to return again and again. Feel free to contact us if you have any questions as you consider booking with us! The NeighborhoodOur house is on a private road, which provides a quiet retreat from the world beyond. We have a handful of very friendly neighbors nearby. Getting AroundDon't let the secluded lot fool you. When you stay here, you are within three miles of a full grocery store, a post office, gas stations, an art gallery, a summertime farmer's market, local restaurants, a hardware store, a library, a ski shop, and more! Kingfield has it all! Plus, you can easily make your way up to Grindstone Pond or Shiloh Pond for a completely peaceful nature walk. Don't forget, Sugarloaf Mountain and Resort access road is a mere 20 minute drive from your front door. Other Things to NoteWe have "hard water" at the camp, which means it can smell like sulfur at times, even though we treat it regularly. Showering and cooking are fine, but suggest drinking purchased water instead. We have a water cooler that holds standard 5 gallon jugs, so you are welcome to bring along a jug. We do try to provide some water to get you started, but more water can easily be purchased at Tranten's about 4 minutes away.

Interaction with GuestsI live on the first floor of this grand old house and, as your host, will be available to tell you about its history. I am also excited to answer questions about the various area attractions which might be of interest. The NeighborhoodNothing hum-drum about this neighborhood! Typical New England where every home is unique and many in the immediate area are the subject of drive-by photos-ops. Settled in the mid-1800, Kingfield is a step-back in time. Other Things to NoteCat on Premises: There is a black and white, tuxedo cat named Harley, in residence. Harley usually has the run of the place and is wonderful at convincing small critters not to trespass. If there is someone in your party that has an allergic reaction to cats, please let me know. Road Noise - During the summer, with windows open, the front bedroom can experience a high level of early morning traffic noise. Distance to Coastal Areas: Two to three hours depending upon destination.
