The SpaceTo yourself, you'll have a cozy room furnished with a comfortable and adjustable Ikea bed that pulls out from a twin to become a double. Your room also has a small refrigerator/freezer. yay! Clean sheets, blankets, pillows, and shampoo/conditioner are provided, as well as fresh towels and some closet space. (There are no additional charges for these items.) (Note: When set-up as a double, the bed will take up most of the space in the room, though you may push it back into a twin for more space during the day.) We provide you with your own set of house keys, including for your private room. We don't impose a curfew so you're welcome to come and go as you like -- make yourself at home! There is one bathroom in the unit with a sink, toilet, and shower/tub to be used by all. While communication about timing for the use of the bathroom for morning and evening schedules is always beneficial, we have never had any issues sharing this space with guests. You are also welcome to share the other common spaces as well -- living room with Apple TV and DVD set-up, kitchen, and dining table. Our home is strictly non-smoking, but the building's outdoor courtyard is only one flight downstairs with benches available. OUR FAMILY We are a married couple with children -- a lawyer-filmmaker and licensed tour guide who likes to cook, an actress-seamstress and Broadway dresser who likes to bake, and two children who love to chase our old loveable cat around the apartment. Due to our freelance lifestyles and the children's schedules, the house begins to wake with activity around 7am on weekdays, but is usually quiet again by 8am as our family heads out for the morning. On weekends, we like to hope the children will "sleep in" until 8am, and will usually keep them playing in their room until 9am or so, or make our way out of the house for the day to enjoy the city for ourselves! Guest AccessOur home includes: - high-speed Wi-Fi - large washer & dryer - bathtub/shower - fully-equipped kitchen - living & dining room - Apple TV with Hulu, Netflix, & HBO - library of books and vast movie & music collection - hardwood floors throughout Interaction with GuestsWe have been hosting on airbnb for 4 years and have really enjoyed sharing our home with visitors from other cities and countries Since we don't travel as much now that we have children we love that people from all over bring the flavors of their culture into our home when they come to stay with us. ;) We are friendly and would be happy to share our love of New York with you during your stay. With our backgrounds as a licensed NYC tour guide and a member of multiple theatrical and performance unions, as well as our own general passions and interests, we are very knowledgeable about theatre, film, jazz, art and science museums, public parks, historical and cultural landmarks and other ins-and-outs about the city, and we would be glad to give you tips on (for example) standby tickets for The Book of Mormon, the best options for Monday night jazz, or how to get discounted entry to the Met and other museums. If our schedules allow and guests have an interest, we welcome conversation over a cup of coffee or tea or a glass of wine to help with any suggestions or planning for your stay. Of course, we are around to answer any questions and to help make our guests' stay as enjoyable as possible! The NeighborhoodPlease check our Guidebook to see recommendations for places to visit in our neighborhood! Getting AroundOur apartment is one block away from the 2 and 5 express subway lines, which can take you to Downtown Manhattan (Battery Park, Wall St, etc) in 20-25 minutes, to Mid-town Manhattan in 30-40 min, and to many of Brooklyn's best sites in just 10-15 minutes. The SpaceHere together with roommate Paul F. Mancini (playwright/theater director) lives a self-employed Swiss female, ME, a writer-filmmaker-actress. I tried to create a cozy, colorful place in Prospect Lefferts Garden aka Flatbush, Brooklyn. 2 blocks off Prospect Park, the 2nd biggest park in NYC (of course, after the well-known Central Park in Manhattan), and the Q subway station Parkside. The building has accessible rooftop with trees. You can almost touch the moon from up there. The bedroom is basic, nonetheless, highly personal. The household in general is always clean and neat because it serves also as office (room not imaged), where business people are being attended. I just like to live highly organized. Within 20 min., you can be in Manhattan Union Square, or in 25 min. at Harald Square with the Q train that is a minute walk from home. Or B from Prospect Park to the heart of Soho, Broadway-Lafayette, is a 5 minutes walk from home. With a 9 min. walk, you have also the trains 2, 5, and S. And if you feel like getting in shape: crossing the park, 15 minutes walk, you'll find the G train. But maybe you are like me: I like to do the way to Manhattan and anywhere else, 365 days a year, riding my bicycle in heels, yes, really, using own body force: down Bedford Avenue, over the Williamsburg Bridge, to the heart of ... the big, extremely urban island. And if you feel like going to Coney Island and Brighten Beach, it takes with the train or bike as long as it takes to get to Manhattan ... Thank you very much for your potential sprouting interested. Guest AccessMy home. Interaction with GuestsEnough. The NeighborhoodI love everything about my hood. Getting AroundYes, as described in the details.

The SpaceI'm an artist/musician and like to have an energetically correct, neat, inspiring environment that is conveniently located near the beautiful prospect park where I jog every day and enjoy nature walks and iceskating, also it is very close, literally under a minutes walk from my apartment to the local Q or express B train... It is important for me to have easy access to a train. I am never late for a meeting or a show living here. Location location location!!! I think this place has it all...Tons of shops and food on Church ave and Flatbush ave, but so close to the park for peace and quiet...and so near the train. It is the best of both worlds...20 minutes to city on Express train. Guest AccessAs my guest you will have access to my basic amenities...bed, shower, pots, pans, towels, but also the musically inclined will have a hard time not picking up one of my instruments and playing..I just please ask you to keep the noise down after 9pm and please respect my (URL HIDDEN) gentle. Be nice. Be Kind. Have respect. Interaction with GuestsJust a basic meet and greet and then walk through then I'll be out of your hair.

I'm very happy to be social and friendly, answer any questions about this city that never sleeps! The NeighborhoodEasy access to the train and lovely Prospect Park and pond. Now with a brand new skating rink! For those non-skaters like me, the park has lovely new paths around the gorgeous pond. Parkside train station is just a hop, step away (on the Q line) and Prospect Park station is just several minutes walk away (on the B and Q). The Brooklyn Museum is just a couple stations away. It is the 2nd largest library in the city, and also houses the famous Elizabeth E. Sackler feminist museum. Just one station away is the Brooklyn Botanical Garden and Brooklyn Zoo. For those staying longer, the dry cleaners/drop-off laundromat is just around the corner. So is one of my favorite breakfast spots just one minute away. Getting AroundThe subway (Q at Parkside station) is just a short 4 min walk away. Great when it's cold out! There's also an easy bus, B41 around Brooklyn. The dollar ($2) van is also convenient. The SpaceGreat kitchen- elevator building with key access. Blocks from prospect park! I love my neighborhood. The bedroom is large. My mother, who loves to travel is staying in the living room (the space is partitioned off). Guest AccessAll kitchen essentials, spices, oils, sugar, etc. Items left in the refrigerator, ketchup, mustard, salad dressings, etc. Interaction with GuestsMy mother Marcela has traveled all over the world and is down to earth. She is an artist and avid tennis player. Very clean and quiet. She is open to as little or much interaction - whatever the guest prefers. The NeighborhoodA gem in Brooklyn, recently cited as "best kept secret" by New York Times: (website hidden)?_r=0 A family community where you get a sense of the real Brooklyn with no tourists but incredible access to Prospect Park, Botanical Gardens and express trains to the city. Getting AroundThe q and b trains are a block and a half away. Making getting to the city very easy. Also have the b41 express which takes you to park slope, the Brooklyn museum and the Brooklyn library. Other Things to Note The apartment is conveniently located near the subway, but as in almost all NY apartments, there is noise associated wits its location.
