The SpaceThe furniture is extremely comfortable, no concrete base seating here! In fact, even the bed of the sofa-bed is surprisingly comfy to sleep in! Mattresses are good quality firm in the guest room, the queen in master has foam topper. Unlike most rentals, the home is very well equipped and lacking for nothing. You won't have to borrow a corkscrew or a vase for your flowers or drink your wine from plastic tumblers. There are chairs and umbrella for the beach and cooler bag for your drinks as well as trays and nice plastic wine glasses for taking things down to the pool. Everything you could ask for cooking and entertaining is at your disposal. Guest AccessOf course, you have the whole 2 bed/2 bath home to yourselves, plus access to all the common areas like pool, gardens, palapa. Unfortunately the washer in basement under pool is only for maid to launder linens for you once a week, but there are many good and cheap laundries in town. Interaction with GuestsI may be able to greet you on your arrival and check you out on departure, but if not, I have an agent with whom I will put you in touch in advance. Also, I have a Mexican cell phone, so as long as I am anywhere in Mexico I am available by phone any time, and of course there is always email. The NeighborhoodOur location is most ideal as you not only have ocean view but also only a 5 min. walk down to one of the nicest, calmest beaches in the area. It is unique in Huatulco for its grainy sand, hence the name Arrocito, which is Spanish for "little rice". It is in a little bay cut deep in from the open ocean so is calm and clean. There is a"restaurant" right on the beach as well as the beautiful Ocean Bar at the Cosmo devt. just a tiny climb up the hill at far end of the beach. I periodically enjoy going to Villas Coral, a small hotel 3 doors down, for breakfast to enjoy their totally different and spectacular cliffside view. We are only 5 minutes from almost anywhere, downtown, supermarkets, golf course, marina, parks, archealogical museum, Santa Cruz beach/harbour/organic market, many restaurants, spas and shops as well as other beaches and resorts. Also, worthwhile excursions to beach villages Zipolite & Mazunte only an hour away, and Puerto Escondido 2 hrs away, offer a nice change of pace and scene. Buses to PE are easy, frequent and inexpensive. Surfers really enjoy PE as well as Barra de la Cruz, about half hour fm Huatulco in the opposite direction. Getting AroundTaxis often cruise past our Villa taking people to and from the beach, so you can flag one or ask our gardener, Octavio to call one for you. A lot of visitors befriend one good possibly English-speaking driver they might encounter and set up pick-ups in advance with him. Taxis are extremely numerous and cheap, but if you want to rent a car, there is a dedicated parking space. Other Things to NoteA meter reading will take place on your arrival and departure and you will be asked to pay 2.5 pesos per kw hr for the duration of your stay. If you are careful with the AC the cost probably won't run more than about $100 a month, MUCH LESS if you don't use the AC at all, and of course it can be MUCH MORE if you use the AC every day or especially injudiciously. The maid will come once a week - usually Tues or Wed - and I cover the cleaning just before your arrival and just after your departure, but you are responsible to pay her $300 pesos for the intervening weeks. She does a very thorough job and yet also works very fast, so inconvenience to you is at a minimum, and this is not negotiable. We can't tell someone that suddenly for a few weeks they don't have a job!
