2. El Rey
For specialty food, your best bet in the City is Deli Gourmet, which has several locations.
Alcohol can be purchased on any supermarket; but if you don’t find what you are looking for, you can try: Bodega Mi Amiga or any of the WineStores.
All restaurants nearby offer local food: Fresh seafood, coconut rice and plantains: We strongly recommend trying the Octopus with coconut rice and fried plantains, in Spanish: Pulpo en leche de coco, con arroz con coco y patacones.
You will find these restaurants near Portobello and in Isla Grande (the island in front of our house). We recommend Coco Plum (near Portobello).
Our house is sitting on top of a natural reef. If you walk around the area, you will also find some naturally formed pools.
Besides Cable TV, we do not have internet nor radios. We do have however an Ipod/Ipad adapter, so you can bring your own music.
Although we have a few neighbors, the house is bit secluded, so nothing really is walking distance…unless you feel like exercising!
The water in the house is fresh river water from nearby. This is NOT drinkable water, so please buy your drinking water supplies.
Please replace anything you consume from our house, including food.
Enjoy you stay at our house and please let us hear your comments, good or bad, so we can improve your future stays.
