7 Pines La Pointe is on fun and picturesque Madeline Island. It's located just one mile from downtown, yet completely inundated with tall timber, and wildlife. I had the cabin built just a few years ago, so it has almost all basic amenities. The rental includes a bedroom, small closet, bathroom, and wide open kitchen/greatroom, with a desk, fold down sofa, and wood burning stove. It has a large refrigerator with freezer, microwave, blender, and stove, available for your use. There are also televisions with Directv. The one in the bedroom has a DVD player, while both have music channels to choose from. The cabin also has a partially covered deck for nature viewing in any weather. Lots of wood to gather nearby for fires at night, in the outdoor fire pits. When possible, I'll be happy to help get anything going.
While here, head to the beach to jump in and discover the healing waters of Lake Superior, check out all the action downtown, play horseshoes in the yard, have a roaring fire in the pit, stroll the trails around the Lagoon at the State Park, or simply mix up a cold beverage and soak up the scenery on the large wrap-around deck. There are many tour options also available for great sailing and fishing in the area, book early if possible.
I work daily at the Madeline Island Golf Club as the Tournament Coordinator, Asst. Manager and Golf Instructor. If you golf, I have a Special Offer of (1) complimentary greens fee!
There are a few small shops in town, as well as Taverns, a Wine Bar, and numerous Art Galleries, all with local chatter. Most everything on the Island is located within walking/biking distance of the cabin. Travel here by ferry, which leaves from the dock in picturesque Bayfield, Wisconsin. Every ferry takes cars and passengers the two miles it spans across Lake Superior, no advance tickets needed.
You can certainly bring your own food and drink, the kitchen is yours. However, make note that Bayfield, across the Lake, has the closest grocery store. Plus, there are two small convenience stores to purchase a few items, once on the Island.
I enjoy my guests, their pets, and always willing to help. I will definitely make myself available to answer any questions. I have my own room with an entrance into the cabin, which makes me more secluded in the back, and we no longer share the Great Room/Kitchen. The two friendly indoor/outdoor cats can be controlled, or not, they don't pay rent, but still own the place. We do share a relatively small driveway on Mondamin Trail, which is extremely quiet, mostly bicycle riders and walkers. My job keeps me very busy, and I'll purposely stay clear and give you space to enjoy the cabin, unless you wish otherwise. I understand that some Island stories can be entertaining!
Hope to hear from you, drop me a line with any questions, no matter how serious or silly...and yes, Madeline Island is surrounded by water,
Paul T :)
Madeline Island is a unique place that spans about 13 miles long, and 2 miles wide. The location of the cabin is set in an affluent golf course neighborhood. It's also close to restaurants, boat docks, parks, beaches and local shops. The road is not well traveled, but has a few walkers and locals, with very little car traffic.
