The SpaceBedroom with twin beds, private bath with shower across the hall, and large second-floor loft for reading, napping, meditating, doing yoga, or doing nothing. Double-bed futon in loft is also an option for sleeping. A small porch and patio for guests' use faces a backyard garden, offering a pleasant spot for breakfast coffee, afternoon tea, and enjoying birdsong. Guest AccessThe kitchen will be shared to the extent that guests may fix tea and coffee at any time, and a toaster oven is available for simple breakfasts. (Complicated breakfasts are served at nearby restaurants, for which menus are on hand.) The remainder of the house is off limits. Interaction with GuestsI live in the front of the house, but because the guest bedroom, hallway, and stairway to the loft open off of the kitchen area, we may encounter each other. I'll be available to greet you and answer questions. The NeighborhoodThe historic north side of Lake Junaluska is small in scale, simple in style, with cottages dating to the early 20th century. A 5-minute walk via footpaths takes you down to the lake. There you’ll find a Bookstore and Café, lakeside benches, and a 2.5-mile walking trail. The trail crosses a dam at one end and a footbridge at the other, passing a rose walk, a butterfly garden, and abundant waterfowl, among other delights. Getting AroundLake Junaluska is an old summer community set among the high mountains of Haywood County. Parking is right at the house. It’s close to I-40 and hwy 19/23/74 -- only 10 minutes to the nearest entrance to the Blue Ridge Parkway and a little farther to the Great Smoky Mountains National Park. Three charming mountain towns are nearby: Waynesville (7 minutes), Sylva (20 minutes), and Asheville (30 minutes). Other Things to NoteWalking is one of the great pleasures in this area. Tucked into a shady ravine a 3-minute walk away is a hidden local treasure, the Corneille Bryan Native Plant Garden, “a place of respite and renewal for all who draw strength from the beauty and quiet.”

Leave your worries behind and come to our contemporary, country cabin appropriately named Everview to gaze at all of the beauty and tranquility the mountains of Western North Carolina have to offer. Our front and back decks allow for gazing at the sunrise with your morning coffee and then relaxing on our back rockers in the evening as the sun sets over the mountains. You do not need a four wheel drive as you make your way from the main highway to the road leading to Everview where you will feel your stresses begin to melt away. You will drive along rolling and easily accessible paved pastoral farmland while you spot horses and cows dotting the landscape. Our home is perfectly situated in a small, peaceful gated community on a mountain ridge at an elevation of 2700 feet which allows for 360 degree long range views of the Smokies. You have your choice of the front deck or the expansive back decks from which to sit back on our rocking chairs and pass the time away. Everview is spacious enough for eight guests allowing for groups of friends, families and extended families to vacation together, yet cozy enough for couples, too. Everything you need to spend your time away from home is included in our well-stocked home. We do our best to supply our cabin for guests the way we would like it equipped ourselves. Provided are many things that other cabins in the area do not such as: cleaning products, trash bags, dish soap, dishwashing tablets, laundry supplies, spices, condiments, etc. And if you're traveling with little ones, do not worry about packing a bulky playpen or high chair. We have those available for you along with plastic children's dinnerware and utensils. A safety gate is also provided to use at the staircase. Please view our video link to give you an idea of what it's like to be inside our home. MAIN LEVEL ENTRY - As you arrive into our quiet, gated community, you’ll first encounter our front deck which lets you gaze for miles at the mountain ranges in the distance. Enter through the front door and the hallway leads to your first glimpse of our open concept living area. LIVING/DINING AREA - Sink into our new comfortable leather reclining sofa or love seat and take in expansive views of the mountains through our double French doors. You can watch TV on our 46 inch HD flat screen, and enjoy the warmth via a large stone gas fireplace (no wood & no fuss). I would like to mention that you will have access to a library of DVDs as well as streaming programming on Netflix, Hulu, YouTube to name a few, ideal for the family time around the fireplaces. Free wi-fi is available throughout the house as well. Step outside the doors to a sprawling covered upper deck and spend hours on the rockers soaking it all in. This is where you’ll find us most of the time when we have the opportunity to get away. We should also mention that this is not just a rental--we enjoy our home a lot ourselves too! I’ll be the one in the rocker reading a good book while my husband, Angus is grilling the steaks on the gas grill. Sorry, Angus doesn’t come with the cabin but he does leave all the utensils so you can prepare your own barbeque! Enjoy your meals outside or in our dining room adjacent to the kitchen. The table seats six comfortably and there are stools around the kitchen island for additional seating. KITCHEN - Our fully equipped kitchen has stone counter tops and wood cabinetry. Even though there is no shortage of wonderful eating establishments in the area, one of the best features of a vacation rental is the ability to prepare your own meals and the flexibility to eat at your own pace. Plenty of dinnerware on hand as well as small appliances like a blender for mixing your favorite drinks and a crock pot so that you can arrive home after a long day of sightseeing to a nice warm meal. There will be a starter set of coffee and tea for you in case you get in too late to go grocery shopping. BEDROOMS/BATHROOMS - All linens are supplied. They include luxurious Egyptian cotton sheets which support the all-around feeling of comfort you will experience at Everview and our exceptionally soft, plump, oversized 100% cotton towels offer the ultimate drying experience. We’ve also included a starter supply of toiletries and paper products so that you don’t have to rush and unpack as soon as you arrive. No need to pack the hair dryers, either as there is one available for use in our bathrooms. 1st MASTER BEDROOM - On the main level, you will find one of our expansive master bedrooms. It features a comfortable king size bed, two night stands with reading lamps, a leather reading/lounge chair, ceiling fan and a 40” flat screen HDTV. This bedroom also has access to the back deck through another set of French doors. You won’t want to rush out of bed in the morning when you open the drapes to capture the beauty just beyond the glass. The attached master bath is just as lovely as the bedroom with an oversized shower and double sinks. The walk-in closet provides plenty of storage for everything you bring with you, including a safe to store your valuables. 2nd KING MASTER BEDROOM - Also on the main level, you will find a second master bedroom. It’s located on the opposite side of the house for maximum privacy. It features a king size bed, a night stand and a reading light, ceiling fan, walk-in closet and HDTV. The view out the window is to our neighbor’s farm where you’ll often see his horses grazing. The bathroom is easily accessible from the hall and features a tub/shower combination. This section of the house can be closed off from the rest of the main level to ensure total privacy. LAUNDRY ROOM - In case you need to get your clothing washed before you get home, we have a full-size laundry room with a drop-down ironing board and iron. We supply you with laundry and cleaning products during your stay. DOWNSTAIRS FAMILY/GAME ROOM - Head downstairs and you’ll find an additional family room which allows for a separate living area when traveling in groups and/or with children. Plenty of games, books and toys available to keep everyone entertained. Another HDTV and fireplace are located here, so there is no chance anyone should be jealous of the upstairs. The French doors lead to the back lower deck, hot tub and yard. The children can run around and play in the yard while parents relax nearby. TEEN SUITE - Bedroom #3 is great for teenagers or even another couple. It features a queen-size bed, dresser and walk-in closet. We understand that even though you’ll be on vacation, you may still need to communicate with your job or could use certain printed materials, so there is also a desk with a printer that you can use to keep your boss happy. CHILDRENS BEDROOM - This room features two twin beds and is adjacent to the full bathroom and downstairs family room which has plenty of games, books, and toys to keep them entertained. Another full bathroom with a walk-in shower is located here and serves the two downstairs bedrooms and family room. UPPER & LOWER DECKS – The best features of our home, I believe, are the expansive front and back decks. You have your choice of watching the sun rise in the morning from the front and then setting in the evening from either of the two back decks. Our six person hot tub also allows you to take in the relaxing views while soaking in its warmth. Many guests find that our home itself is worth the trip to the mountains. There is so much more that I can add, but why not check it out yourself? While the house itself is a great place to vacation, you won't be lacking for activities and attractions nearby. We are located just outside of Waynesville, and many popular sights are just a short drive away. There are plenty of great restaurants we can recommend from good 'ol country fixins to impressive gourmet meals. Even if you are still looking, just send me an inquiry and I will provide you with a travel guide I’ve put together which features our favorite attractions/activities and dining options to help with your vacation plans. My husband and I own and personally manage Everview and are willing to offer assistance in answering any questions about our home or the area. Check out the many wonderful reviews left by our guests. Many are repeat customers. Don't miss out on this great opportunity to experience a wonderful mountain getaway at Everview where you will find a magnificent balance between adventure and tranquility. Guest AccessGuest will have access to the whole house and all of the included amenities Interaction with GuestsI will contact guests with additional information upon confirmation of the rental. $300 refundable deposit will be returned within one week of checkout, assuming no loss or damage. We are located in a quiet small gated neighborhood in the Iron Duff community. Our neighbors have a working farm and you'll enjoy watching their horses during the day. The road that leads to our home from the main highway is completely paved and offers a beautiful 6-7 minute drive through rolling farmland. No steep climbs at all.

Magnificent Mountain Home Work of Art - A wonderful place to gather friends and family for that special event...A perfect home away from home to relax and soak up the beautiful mountain views right along the Pigeon river. To date over ten couples have picked our home for their wedding celebration.!...Like other luxury mountain top homes, as you approach this home you will appreciate the home’s picturesque presentation and obvious beauty. The view is clear and almost forever as you gaze across the expansive vista. However, the similarity to other homes ends as you cross the entry threshold and suffer the complete loss of breath one typically experiences on a first visit to this magnificent work of art. You immediately notice and can never forget the hand carved stair railings and beams, finished and polished by hand but in their natural state. Across a voluminous huge room filled with furniture, windows and light, you notice the hand selected stone fireplace filling the end of the room. A work of art in itself. Off to the left is a Gourmet’s delight of a kitchen, spacious and filled with granite and stainless and everything necessary to prepare a gourmet meal for two or thirty. As you begin to wander and look, you soon discover that this is the collective work of artisans and old school craftsmen who painstakingly excelled, an owner with a profound appreciation of nature and art combined with an unlimited budget all who collectively felt challenged with the task of building much more than a luxury home, but more a magnificent work of art, the likes of which most people have never had an opportunity to behold. And you among the fortunate are now standing here. As you continue to explore its 6 bedrooms and 5 baths, you remain amazed at the attention to detail framed in the most usual ways, such as a whole tree trunk, hand hollowed and polished to accommodate plumbing for its use as a sink base in lieu of the typical cabinet...One of many unique, small details that you will soon discover as you explore. Tile work abounds everywhere also displaying and embellishing the beauty and uniqueness of this fine work of art. You will discover a wine cellar with a tasting room and a home gym to work out if you have the energy. A steam room, heated bathroom floors, the list goes on and on. A study with a magnificent sound system will draw you in and capture you for hours. The home could virtually be in contention for a Noble Peace Prize for the amount of tranquility it bestows on its visitors if it were not for the continued arousal of curiosity of true art lovers. If you happen to be an architect, designer, builder, curator, art collector, nature lover, you do yourself a disservice by not experiencing this work of art. And by day, if you wander outside onto the natural stone terrace, you’ll see a commanding view that looks far beyond any horizon or down to a lovely rushing river filled with the sound of water splashing on the rocks. Perhaps tubing or trout fishing kindle your youthful spirit. At night sitting in rocking chairs by a huge outdoor stone fireplace with a glass of wine will kindle your imagination or looking up to the same star filled sky that Van Gogh was so inspired by but a night sky more clear and bright than you’ve ever experienced. Whatever you do, don’t miss this opportunity to spend a week or two living within a true work of art. Who knows when the Owner may say no more, and it’s gone from all of us forever. In the meantime if you are fortunate enough to stay here, I assure you that you will leave amazed and truly blessed by a memorable experience in this mountain top work of art. Easy access...fabulous views...private...on the river...close to Cataloochee Valley and ski resort...great hikes are nearby and just 30 minutes to Asheville...,

The SpaceThis cottage has been given much love and care by Deborah and her husband, Curtis, over the past eleven years. At the end of a private lane, the home is situated in a quiet and safe neighborhood. The front of the home has an open deck with a dining table for visiting or watching the cook grill steaks or burgers. Making sure no one is left out of the conversation, you can leave the patio doors open into the kitchen/dining area. There is plenty of space for everyone. The bedrooms are on separate ends of the home, for extra privacy. Two bedrooms have decks for private or intimate seating. The upstairs master suite provides a screened in porch with a 5 person hot tub. You may invite your other guests to join you, or enjoy the privacy. Also, enjoy the luxury of sleeping on a king size hybrid bed of foam and springs. Soft sheets and covers are added for your comfort. Two sets of towels are provided for each guest. Bedding is often line dried to provide you with the fresh scent of the mountains. Another guest favorite is the cozy warmth of the wood stove, located in the kitchen/dining area. Warm yourselves during a chilly morning or cool mountain evening with the wood stove. Firewood is provided without fee. The cottage is tucked away in the woods with the luxury of easy access to all the main attractions of the area. Guests can easily gain access to all the main highways leading to popular nearby towns, including Asheville, Bryson City, Cherokee, Maggie Valley and Waynesville. While staying in the cottage, you and your guests will have the convenience of close proximity to important events, while having a private setting to enjoy the opportunity of peaceful time away from other activities. Lake Junaluska Assembly amenities are less than a mile from the cottage. Here, guests may jog or stroll the 2.6 mile loop around the lake. Many enjoy swimming in the pool, paddle boarding on the lake, or playing tennis, miniature golf, and more. Equally important, a short distance from the cottage is the Lake Junaluska Golf Course, an 18 hole, par 68 course, with clubhouse, cart rental and more. With easy access to the cottage during winter season, guests heading to Cataloochee Ski Area will benefit from the convenience of getting to the ski slopes in about twenty minutes! Other area attractions include Biltmore Estate, Historic Cherokee, the Blue Ridge Parkway and the Great Smoky Mountain National Park. The NeighborhoodThe location and surroundings of this home is what made us want to live here. We are part of the Lake Junaluska Assembly. However, our home is located across the street. To enhance the privacy is the beautiful wooded setting on three sides of the home. Sometimes, you can see golfers up the hill, at the 15th green. Many times they are looking for a lost ball in the midst of the trees. The master suite and the hot tub are guest favorites. Next, and equally beautiful, is the newly remodeled kitchen/dining area. The open layout and seating leave no one out of the conversation while preparing a meal. Last, the easy access to US 19 and Interstate 40. Restaurants are minutes away within the Waynesville and Maggie Valley area. Otherwise, it's a short 30 minute drive into Asheville. Getting AroundNo mass transit but there is über if need be. There is plenty of room for you to park several cars in the driveway. Very close to highways and major roads so the house gives you a "in the mountains" feel but is WAY more accessible than most houses in the Smokies which saves LOTS of time and hassle if you want to head out for adventures in town or on the parkway.
