The SpaceBreakfast and diner is included because there is no restaurant in the village.
Thon Tha is an ancient village with 100% of its 550 inhabitants are from Tay minority people. We live peacefully in traditional stilt houses built with wood and bamboo and topped with palm-thatched roofs. No loud music. No noisy horns.
Our Responsible Tourism Cooperative offers you accommodation in 3 local families’ houses: Quyen’s Family, Nghiem's Family and Thien’s family, all located in the heart of the village. Learn more about them on our website. All the guests sleep on the 2nd floor on mattresses separated by curtains and mosquito nets. Western-style toilets, showers with hot water, drinking water and free Wi-Fi are provided.
Come here to relax in a medicinal herbal bath and enjoy beautiful rural scenery. Learn how to cook and share a meal with your new family. Go trekking to other hill tribe villages or on a motorbike trip through spectacular (and scary) roads. Take part in traditional cultural performances. Learn about the making process of traditional crafts and take some souvenirs home. And if you think you can handle it, spend a day in the shoes of a local farmer. (that’s when you’ll need the herbal bath actually!).
More about us
In 2007, Ha Giang Tourism and Cultural Department chose Thôn Tha to develop community tourism. Since then, our new Cooperative for responsible tourism has been working with a local organization to help develop tourism, creating jobs and new opportunities while building interests in our cultures. We attended classes in marketing, communication, and serving tourists. But excuse our English, it still needs some more practice ;)
Check out our website for more information about our Responsible Tourism Cooperative, things to do in the area, Tay Culture and more. (URL HIDDEN) Guest AccessGuest can access the whole house except the ancestors altar. Interaction with GuestsBreakfast and diner is included in the price, because there is no restaurant in the village.
Guests are welcomed to help prepare the meals and learn about Tay cuisine, eat their meals with the family, interact with other villagers.
