Located in the heart of the Nicolet National Forest on Lake Lucerne, Step back in time for that perfect 'rustic' getaway of days gone by. This cabin is named Sunfish, and is tucked away on 16 acres of private woodland. This three-season cabin is located on the west shore of beautiful Lake Lucerne, a 1,100 acre, crystal clear, spring fed lake. The cabin has been completely refurbished and is located in Crescent Bay. Come and enjoy the crystal clear water of Lake Lucerne. Bring your own boat and enjoy everything the lake has to offer. Fish, swim, ski, snorkel, boat or just relax on the water. Go to bed at night listening to the Loons, and begin your mornings by watching the sun rise from the dock. Anytime of the day, you can just sit and relax on the deck and watch the endless wild life, take a walk in the woods or star gaze at night. Absolutely no tents are allowed on the properties. Pets allowed w/security deposit of $250.00 Additional activities; FISHING: We open the cabins up when the ice moves off the lake. We can usually have them open and ready for guests when Fishing Season opens. HUNTING: When summer activities end, bird and bow hunting begins. Grouse, Pheasant Quail, Duck and Turkey are just some of the birds that are hunted in the area. We keep the cabins open thru the end of September (or weather permitting into October) to accommodate hunters. BIRD WATCHING: Bald Eagles, Loons, Ducks, Canadian Geese, Blue Heron, Falcons, Grouse, Hawks, Mourning Doves, Northern Cardinal, Owls and some 300 more species for the serious bird watcher. STAR GAZING: The sky at night, viewed from the deck, beach, dock or your boat is breathtaking (worth the trip alone), and if you're fortunate enough to be vacationing when the Northern Lights are active, you will be hooked for life! READING & RELAXING: Sit out on the deck with a good book or just sit and take in the fresh air and sweet smell of pine. Now that is Northern Wisconsin! AREA EVENTS & ACTIVITIES: Each Wednesday night there is a “FREE” waterski show at Waters Edge Lodge, just down the lake. Come by boat or car, it’s a great way to cap off the day on the lake. Just bring your own chair! Each August, the ski club hosts the largest figure 8 barefoot waterski tournament in the world, known as Footstock. This is located on Peshtigo Lake, just north of town on Highway 32. The World Championship Off-Road Race, Brush Run, sponsored by Traaxas, is held twice in the summer at the Crandon International Raceway. The races are in mid-June and Labor Day Weekend. Watch some of the best off road racing in the country. The last Saturday in July is “Art in the Park” and Kentuck Days. Shop the vendors, listen to Bluegrass Music and enjoy some of the history that the community has to offer. Each weekend throughout the summer offers a unique festival, the Wild Rice Festival, Corn Festival, Polish Fest, Country Fest, Laona Soup Festival, the Lions Club Beach Party or the Biker Rally Weekend, there are just too many to mention. If that's not enough, you can take a trip back in time with a ride on a vintage steam train. Head for Laona (10 miles) and climb aboard the famed Lumberjack Steam Train for a journey into the late 1800's and spend time at 'Camp 5', a turn of the century logging camp. What we do know, is that your biggest decision will be to either leave this beautiful lake for the day, ... or stay on it. Crandon (just 5 miles away), is a charming town offering Restaurants, Antique Shops, Gift and Clothing Shops, and a Historical Museum. Tricia’s Treasures, on Main Street, a local hot spot for lunch and shopping, offers what is arguably the best Panini sandwich in Northern Wisconsin and any coffee drink you can think of. Forget Starbucks!! Water’s Edge Lodge, just a half mile south on the lake is a great place for lake side dining. Come by boat or car; eat on the dock or in the main lodge. Friday offers their all you care to eat fish fry with soup and salad bar. Open 7 days a week with nightly specials. If you enjoy golfing, we are located just 8 miles away from the 18 hole, (Public) Nicolet Country Club Golf course. Last but not least, there is plenty of gambling available.
