The SpaceWe offer a discount for single guests: you can pay £30 a night instead of the full fee. Just request a Special Offer. We are a community co-operative of 11 adults and 4 children living in the most beautiful former manor house in peaceful Mid Devon on The Two Moors Way. The house is situated in six acres of grounds and gardens. We grow much of our own food in our two Victorian walled gardens and greenhouses and have chickens wandering around. Much of our energy comes from renewable systems such as our wind turbine and solar panels and we have a reed bed sewage system. We aim to be as self-sufficient as possible. You are welcome to join us for shared evening meals at a very reasonable cost and relax in our homely communal lounge in front of the log fire. We offer special rates for kids so contact us to find out more! Guest AccessWe offer comfortable accommodation in a large ground floor room which has a double and single bed in it. There's central heating and tea/coffee making facilities. There is WiFi access in the room but no TV. Just near the room is a large shower room. Interaction with GuestsGuests are very welcome to join the community for a shared evening meal at £5 each per night and to use our comfortable lounge in the evenings. Please let us know in advance if you want to dine with us so we can be sure to cook enough, and also if you have any dietary requirements. The meal is always vegetarian and usually vegan or with a vegan option. The NeighborhoodThe house is in a very beautiful, peaceful location and is ideally situated to explore both Dartmoor and Exmoor. The long-distance footpath, The Two Moors Way, runs alongside our property. The very popular village of Morchard Bishop is nearby, 5 minutes by car. Here there is an award-winning village shop and cafe run by former community members. There is also a pub in the village which has a very reasonably-priced menu. Getting AroundBuses run from the village to Crediton ( 8 miles away) and Exeter ( 16 miles). The train station of Morchard Road is 10 minutes away and is on the famous Tarka line which takes you up to North Devon along a very pretty valley. In the other direction you can get a train from here directly to Exmouth on the South Devon coast. We can arrange pick-ups from the village or Morchard Road train station for a small charge. Many of our visitors call into us on their walk along The Two Moors Way. Other Things to NoteUnique opportunity to stay in a community co-op. The income that we raise from Air B and B goes towards the Co-Op and is used to look after this beautiful house and develop the veggie gardens and orchards. In summary our holiday cottage offers you a private hot tub and garden within the stunning setting of our farm and trout fishery. It is the perfect base for walking, cycling and exploring this beautiful part of Devon. Pets and families are welcome. The cottage sleeps 4 and it has had great reviews; a warm welcome, free home produce and a fly fishing taster awaits! With a large private garden and wood fired hot tub your stay at Bellbrook Fishery is guaranteed to be a relaxing one. Bellbrook Cottage, part of which is made from cob and dates back to the 16th century, has been newly decorated and furnished in a warm country style and is all on one level. There are two generous bedrooms that can either be made up as twins or super kings, a bathroom with large shower and an open plan living area with a well equipped kitchen. There is Sky TV, internet access, two comfortable sofas and a selection of games and books for those wet weather days! The cottage forms an annex attached to the owner's farm house and is set down a quiet country lane. It is one of two holiday properties and forms part of a working Trout Fishery and small holding covering 40 acres and boasting seven lakes. The large, private garden is very secure for pets and children and, as well as having a lawned area, boasts several areas dedicated to the natural flora such as bluebells, hellebore and primroses. The hot tub is situated on the patio area, seats 6 and can be heated ready for you to use on your arrival. Robes are also provided for your comfort. The hot tub is wood fired with an air bubble system and is very quiet; the soothing crackle of the wood in the stove and the natural scent will only make the atmosphere around, and in, your wooden hot tub even more special. We aim to make your stay as enjoyable as possible and to this end we have provided little luxuries such as Duck Island toiletries and homemade produce, as well as everyday essentials from salt and pepper to cling film. Complementary tea, coffee and sugar are provided and you are welcomed with our own free range eggs and a homemade loaf! Dogs and children are most welcome and a travel cot and high chair are available free of charge. We also aim to be as eco-friendly as possible and most of the electricity and heating are provided by solar panels and a biomass boiler. In keeping with these intentions the hot tub is wood fired and therefore only takes 2-3 hours to heat in comparison to electric ones which take 4-6 hours. Here on the farm we breed our own rare breed sheep and at the right time of year our fields are full of lambs. We also have a pair of pet pygmy goats who love a cuddle! There are many beautiful walks right on our doorstep and of course there are the grounds of the fishery to explore. Bellbrook is also an ideal base for walking, riding, cycling or trying your hand at fly fishing. Included in your booking is an introductory lesson to casting for your group which lasts approximately 20 minutes. If you enjoy the experience we have a lake suitable for beginners and children and rod hire is available. We are easily accessed from the A361 - the M5 is only 15 minutes away. The local villages of Oakford and Bampton have welcoming pubs with local ales and good food. The nearest pub is 1.5 miles away. There are also two excellent restaurants nearby. Local shops and supermarkets can be found in Tiverton which is 10 minutes drive – there is also a regular pannier market with tempting local produce. We are close to the historic market town of Dulverton which is known as the gateway to Exmoor National Park and is a must for the cream teas! Please note there is a small charge for each additional pet and a refundable deposit is payable on arrival. Please phone or email to book, or if you have any questions. We look forward to welcoming you to Bellbrook! Tiverton is the nearest well known town and is 8 miles away. The very characterful market towns of Bampton (5.5 miles) and South Molton (14 miles) are both worth a visit while the tea rooms in Dulverton (6 miles) are essential. We are also blessed with some wonderful country pubs that serve excellent food - too many to mention but starting at 2 miles away. Further Details: As well as all the nature and fresh air we provide on site, we are located in what is known as the Exmoor fringe. Many people visit the area to walk the moor and take in the views - it is still a truly wild area. It is also well known for star gazing and Exmoor National Park was recently designated the first International Dark Sky Reserve in Europe.
