The SpaceThis compact yet open plan apartment is inviting, modern and clean with high cathedral ceilings. It is fully furnished with queen-size bed, wardrobe, chest of drawers, couch, luggage rack, coffee table, TV, DVD player, table and chairs. Your private bathroom includes a washing machine as well as your own hot water system to guarantee a hot shower any time. All linen is supplied including beach towels. All the extras are included such as basic breakfast provisions (for the first 2 days), wireless internet (wifi), iron and ironing board, clothes drying rack, hairdryer, alarm clock radio with iPod dock, books, magazines, DVDs and board games. We even have a couple of old pushbikes you can use to get around more easily and explore the bike path through the sand dunes. Guest AccessWe share the same access through the front gate but you have your own door to your self-contained apartment. Feel free to access our shared expansive deck with sweeping sea views and gorgeous sunsets. Join us for a drink if you like. Interaction with GuestsWe are just next door and can answer all your queries. We like traveling and meeting new people. We are not intrusive and will respect your privacy and space. We are happy to leave you alone completely, have a chat, or if we are in the mood, entertain you! The NeighborhoodWalk out the gate, cross the road, and the beach is right there. This quiet section of beach offers safe swimming and walking away from the crowds. If fitness is your thing, a challenging running track up and down sand dunes with freely accessible exercise equipment is close by. You also have immediate access to an 8km walking/cycle path which stretches from North Haven to Semaphore South - a great way to explore this area. Head 1.3 km south along this path and enjoy a beer at the refurbished Largs Pier Hotel. Or sample the fantastic fish and chips from the beach kiosk across the road. Stroll through vintage shops, visit the organic shop, and sample tapas or relish breakfast at the retro Queenies Store. Head south another 1.5 km and the vibrant seaside suburb of Semaphore with its cafes, shops and supermarkets awaits you. Our local store/deli and chicken shop around the corner sell basic food items and a range of takeaway food options. There is also cafe which opens early and provides breakfast and coffee. Getting AroundWe have a couple of second hand push bikes that guests can use. A 3 minute walk to the bus stop where the local bus will take you to Semaphore and historical Port Adelaide where there are nautical, train and plane museums, and more shopping malls and supermarkets. The nearest train station is a 10 minute walk away and this gets you to Adelaide city within 25 minutes. We have timetables in the apartment. Other Things to NoteParking is free and safe on the street outside our house. The apartment is adjacent to our carport. We are quiet when we leave for work in the morning (Monday to Friday). Longer term rental at reduced price available by negotiation - suit student, Police Academy, Submarine Corp, DHA Bayriver development, relocation/migration etc, or what ever your need!

Weekends are more relaxed and happy to take you on some day trips.     The SpaceThe guest retreat is a large spacious room seperate from the house. It has a comfortable fold out slat bed (guests have commented on how comfortable it is). I provide fresh sheets, pillows, fresh towels and duck feathered quilt. You have a chesterfield lounge in there too to chill out and read a good book. Guests have their own private bathroom with shower and toilet. Room is suited for 2 guests but happy to put in a blow-up mattress with a mattress layer on top for added comfort for an extra 2 people at $10pp as I'm aware some people might be travelling with small children. There is no tv in the room. In saying that opposite to the retreat is a spacious outdoor entertaining area complete with couch, flat screen tv, heater, table and chairs. Feel free to eat your breakfast inside kitchen area of house or on the deck. The deck is a great space to sit back and relax after a long day of touring. Guests have access to the main kitchen in the house where you are welcome to cook, using any of the fine ingredients I have in the cupboard. I offer fresh bread, cereal, tea and coffee every morning. Tea and coffee is at your disposal through out the day, which is located in the kitchen. I will leave a space in my fridge for you to put your groceries. A Webber Q (Barbecue) is on the deck for you to use. At the end of my street is a fish and chip/chicken shop, deli and cafe so it's just a short walk to get yourself some takeaway food if you don't feel like cooking. Other guests had previously mentioned I had a Great Dane named Sam, sadly he passed away. I have NO pets on this property. My home is very quiet... All you will hear late at night is the sound of the waves! (If the wind is blowing the right way!) Feel free to ask me as many questions as you want, I'm happy to help out in anyway possible. At the end of my street is a set of stairs that take you straight down to the beach and boardwalk. Great pubs and cafes in walking distance, close to the famous historical Semaphore area. In the school holidays there is a carnival opposite the beach in the Semaphore area which I would highly recommend if you have children. Getting AroundBus stop right at the end of my street to take you where ever you would like to go! It's also a 10min walk to the train station that takes you straight into the city.

      My house is a mixture of old meets new, a 1950's house renovated to give a homely but classy feel. The highlight is the pool and spa but there is also a studio room and garden out the front and back. Only a 10 to 15 minute walk to the beach as well!

Winter is just fine too, with gas heating for outdoor dining supplied. There is plenty of car parking, either on street or covered car park under the Holdfast Promenade Apartments and Restaurants,Glenelg. THE PALAIS - on the beach at Semaphore is great for meals and entertainment. SUNDAYS (ALL) - 9am - 1pm - Adelaide Showgrounds Farmers Market (names one of the best in Australia by Australian Travellers Magazine SUNDAYS - 1st and 3rd Sunday of every month - GILLES STREET MARKETS- Adelaide City 10 -4pm Getting AroundPublic Transport is close by, within walking distance. For hire cars, do an internet search "adelaide hire cars cheap" and you will see some companies have them from AU$19 a day. We drive on the left in Australia. Other Things to NoteThere are always plenty of things to do around Adelaide. If you don't have a car, don't despair, our public transport system can get you almost anywhere. The bus stop is about 100 meters from the house or train about 800 meters. We can also assist with a grocery run if organised at a mutually convenient time. This can either be organised prior or after your arrival. A good online site to look at for things to do is weekend notes adelaide. There is a local 24/7 fitness centre close by at the Arndale Shopping Centre (pay per visit) Bus 230 stops at Arndale Interchange. SWIMMING CENTRES - There are a few public pools handy to the house. The most popular centre though is probably the Adelaide Aquatic Centre at North Adelaide - only a 10-15 min drive straight up Torrens Rd. This centre has a childrens playground, gym, spa, sauna, and a variety of pools, indoor and outdoor. Golf - If you fancy a round of golf, there are a few golf courses close by- eg: Adelaide Shores, North Adelaide and Regency Park. Tennis - Memorial Drive, North Adelaide. Next Generation Health and Fitness Club on Memorial Drive North Adelaide is only a 15 min drive. This centre has a gym, tennis, squash, pool, classes, regeneration spa, wet spa, and relaxation facilities.

It is one minute to the beach! It is close to Largs Bay, Semaphore, Port Adelaide and West Lakes. Semaphore has seen a remarkable transformation over the past few years. It has a good range of shops including clothing, gifts and an eclectic range of food places. It is a 25-30 minute drive to Adelaide city. Easy access to the Barossa Valley and Clare Valley. It is close to Largs Bay and Semaphore Jetties, Semaphore Road with its mix of amenities eg a picture theatre (under $10 a ticket), shopping, fine dining, pub meals, cafes and more. It has easy to access the northern wine areas in the Barossa and Clare Valley. It's about 25-30 minutes to the city and only a little longer will take you into the Hills walking or wine region.
