Very quite, friendly and willing to help if needed. Getting AroundThere is no public transport in the area and an hours drive from the Dunedin Airport. Its a good base to visit Queenstown - 3 hours, Invercargill - 2 Hours and Dunedin 1.5 hours. The Southern Scenic Routes starts on your doorstep. There is amble parking available for Cars or Camper vans.

The SpaceWe cater for up to four people (at the moment) and offer privacy and comfort in a semi rural setting. Tonix is not suitable for young children. We offer breakfast options from $15. Full cooked breakfasts come with complimentary, Barista made, espresso coffee using quality beans roasted by the host. We are located appx 50 minutes from Dunedin International airport on SH8 Heading to Queenstown Guest AccessGuests have their own access and can come and go as they please. Some parts of the gardens are private. Guests have safe private off street parking. Interaction with Guestswe will greet our guests and orientate them with their surroundings. The amount of interaction or privacy is up to the guest. We live in the same house and there is a door between the suite and our living area. The NeighborhoodLawrence is considered by many to be one of the birthplaces of modern New Zealand with it's rich history of gold mining. New Zealand's first bicycle was built here as was the first post office as well as the New Zealand National Anthem. In spring, the daffodils at Wetherstons is a sight to behold. Getting AroundThe township is small enough to not require public transport, there is a national bus service that passes through from Dunedin to Queenstown and the central lakes. Other Things to NoteLawrence is now part of the national rail trail cycle track, which is very popular with both locals and visitors. Our town has many cafes and one or two pubs as well as gift shops, 2nd hand stores and a great museum

The ECO cottage is a smoke free modern double glazed cottage on the run-off of our dairy farm, attached to the homestead . Suits 2 people . We have an open living / kitchen space and one separate bedroom with one King size bed- though it can be split on request into twin (2 single) no problem. * Notify us ahead of your arrival if you like the twin bed option please. One modern completely tiled shower with fan and heated towel rail and heater. Big natural soft towels and hairdryer. For children see: extra details Guest AccessYou have your own entrance to your apartment and the studio separates it from the main homestead. Yes, you are allowed free access to farm- leave gates as you find them. Sorry , no dogs allowed.Cows and youngstock graze year round. Its best to use walkways , not the paddocks. Interaction with GuestsWe are a busy working couple living in the homestead nextdoor. Our available time varies over the seasons, but really do like to meet you! The NeighborhoodThe farm is tucked in between Kaka Point and Romahapa. Nearest shops /cafes / petrol in Balclutha , 22 km north of Kaka Point Closest bigger towns are Dunedin 1.5 hrs drive north and Gore 1.25 hrs South of us. No other neighbours nearby then farm owners or staff working . We have very quiet times but during peak times there is more tractor noise. Inquire if you like some info . Beach about 8 km. Famous NUGGET POINT and nearby yellow eyed penguins about half an hour drive from us. Getting AroundWe are 22 km south from Balclutha , so we advice to come by car. No public transport available here. Keep driving left, even on quiet gravel roads! Driving carefully does pay.. Other Things to NoteThe cottage is for a maximum of two persons - a baby with you or a child, we can arrange something! Any other requests, please ask first. Wireless Internet : we have changed to a different provider. You will receive vouchers and a code to get access to your laptop Ipad etc. The guesthouse doesn't have a computer. We like to help out if advise is needed. We do recommend to have your next bookings arranged in time specially in periods January to April. The Catlins is fast becoming a very popular destination. And last but not least, let the cold days not hold you back to come here. Even in winter it is a great place to stay . Stacks of firewood here and a studio for creative activities like sewing and art . Sewing machines available. Please inquire about extra costs.

The NeighborhoodNugget Point Lighthouse was recently voted #1 most Instagramed lighthouse in New Zealand. When you are there it is clear why. There is a Yellow-Eyed Penguin Colony just as you are about to approach the lighthouse car park (this is clearly signed). Seals are abundant, as are Marine birds. Nugget Point is famous for viewing the Southern lights. Other Things to NoteThe Southern Scenic Route is recently voted #2 'Must Do' drives in New Zealand. Along the Southern Scenic Route is an abundance of Nature and Wildlife attractions including nearby Seal Colony and rare Yellow-Eyed Penguin Colony. Information is available for you in your unit. Also, call in and see the friendly team at the Clutha i-Site, in Balclutha. The girls can equip you with everything you need and tell you the 'secrets'.

No dishwasher, but then there is plenty of time to wash the dishes and look out into the garden. I have a large spray free garden and depending on the time of year you can go out and pick some vegetables for dinner - I will leave a note about what is available. Help yourself to tea and coffee, fresh milk in the fridge. Whole house is yours during your stay. Guest AccessThe Queen sized room ($100 for 2 people) or if there are more people there is an additional room with the three single beds ($15 per extra person). All parts of the house are available. We are surrounded by farmland and the house is extremely quiet. The NeighborhoodWe are only an hour and a half from Dunedin and 40 minutes from the Caitlins. The area is stunning, with beautiful walks on the farm and scenic drives. There is a pub in Clinton which serves great food and takeaways and is only a ten minute drive from the house. Getting AroundWe have plenty of free parking.

        Beautiful golden sand beach ,private access, relaxing home away from home. Not far to Lighthouse and penguins,seals and sealions. Very comfortable beds, large unit with cooking facilities.Good free wifi, amazing morning sunrises, scenic and quiet, view and garden framed by cabbage trees full of Tuis and Bellbirds.
