A little over an hour north of Boston; 40 minutes south of Portland, ME; and about 20 minutes to the Marginal Way in Ogunquit, the lobster docks or beach at Kennebunkport, or the White Mountains of New Hampshire. There is an 18-hole golf course 5 minutes from the cabins, with a Par-3 and miniature golf course another 5 minutes down the road. There are wonderful hiking trails, bicycling tours, and terrific kayaking – lake or ocean. Unlimited day trips to other parts of Maine or New Hampshire. Bauneg Beg Lake is very clean and quiet, with swimming, fishing and boating. Cabin is located on the east shore, getting full day sun for great swimming, and beautiful sunsets! Pine Needle Cabin is a rustic 1-story cabin on a sloped site directly overlooking the lake. The cabin was built around a turn of the century ice-fishing house from a lake in NH - now the living room --with dark wood paneling and fireplace w/integral woodburning stove. There is an entry foyer, kitchen/dining area, bathroom with shower, and a large screened porch -- with an eating area, chaise lounge and rocking chairs, to enjoy the lake at any time of day. There are 3 bedrooms (2 with double beds & 1 with single bed). The exterior of the cabin was recently renovated – new metal roof, stone chimney and cedar shakes. There is a dock for swimming, sunning and fishing at lakeside. There are a rowboat, canoe and kayaks for your use. There is also a boat ramp on the lake if you wish to bring a motorboat or sailboat. The cabins are open from the beginning of June through early October, and available on a weekly rental basis from Saturday to Saturday. ...................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................

This romantic cozy cottage is located at the intersection of Bauneg Beg Lake and the Great Works River, easily accessible from I-95. Centrally located for easy day-trips to the ocean, the mountains, sightseeing, and shopping. But the main attraction is the location itself. Front and back decks provide waterfront relaxation with water on three sides of the property. Canoe or kayak out onto the main lake or up the river for more privacy and wildlife including nesting great herons. Our favorite activity is to relax on the deck with an evening cocktail and watch the sun go down across the river! Once a purely rustic cabin, this cottage now has knotty pine board walls and ceiling with cottage size stove, oven, refrigerator, microwave, and shower. While enjoying the cottage-on-the-lake experience you can also stay connected with the outside world if you desire via wireless internet. The bedroom has a double bed. There is also a twin-sized day bed and a convertible sofa-bed in the main room. The Maine fishery department states that bass and pickerel provide ample angling opportunities and the lake supports a large population of white perch.
