The SpaceThe uniqueness of this home is the civil war era and history of the home. Mr. William Sypert built this home in approximately 1830 where he lived and worked as a practicing attorney. Apparently he was somewhat of a well spoken politician as well, because it has been told that Mr. Sypert personally negotiated with the union soldiers during the civil war (on Lebanon's downtown public square) and he did a great job of talking the enemy out of burning the town square to the ground, and his home (this home) next! (The Ciy's college had already been burned down and they were headed for the public square and William Sypert's house next!). Guest AccessYou will have your own key to come in the front door of the home and have access to your private bedroom, living room, dining room, foyer and front porch area. A courtesy microwave, toaster oven, coffee pot and breakfast is included. Interaction with GuestsOwner lives in the rear of the home and will not bother the guest(s) unless requested. The NeighborhoodI love the fact that this historic home is located only a block from the downtown public square which is filled with treasures such as the restored "Capital Theatre" (a 1940's - 1950's fully restored and operational movie theatre and event center ... see listed events & history at this url/address: (URL HIDDEN) and many unique mom & pop antique stores, plus a modern shopping outlet (just up the road off the interstate); so there is something for everyone "shopping-wise". This home is also near Cumberland University for visiting parents and friends of college students. Many popular chain restaurants are only 5 minutes away. Getting AroundLebanon has a taxi service and a train service to downtown Nashville ((URL HIDDEN) You can view the "Music City Star" train schedule by visiting this internet link: (URL HIDDEN) The train ride to Nashville is a wonderful way to see the area.
