For those who have booked needing more than one bed, there is a fold out double sofa bed and two single mattress with clean linen provided for guests to make up and place in the unit as they choose. The fold out bed will have a clean bottom sheet on, you will find clean fitted sheets for the single bed mattresses in the closet in the bedroom. Also in the closet are quilts of different thicknesses and pillows, all with clean covers on them (there are no top sheets for the extra beds). In the kitchen there is a microwave, toaster, large electric wok, large electric fry pan, single induction burner, with a choice of fry pans and a pot, jug, dishes and a fridge. There is not a stove or a dish washer. You can have pizza delivered, too. We have board games and so on that we can provide to help keep your children entertained. You are welcome to share the use of our indoor solar heated pool, usually heated above 27 degrees from the beginning of November until the end of March (see house rules). The Tasmania sun is not enough to heat the pool between mid April and mid October, we do not recommend using it then (about 20 degrees). Our washing machine, clothes line and drying racks are also available for your use. You will park your car between our house and the garage, where there is a visitor parking sign. You walk down an asphalt path for about 13 metres, you then walk across a concrete flat path for 20 metres to the unit. Interaction with GuestsWe live in the upstairs. If we are home when you arrive we will greet you, help to make you feel comfortable and assist with any queries you might have then and throughout your stay. We have arranged the facilities so guests can be self sufficient in the event we do not meet during your stay. You will have instructions about how to let yourself in the event you arrive when we are out. There will be guest information about local services and tourist attractions, as well as maps to help you get around. The NeighborhoodOur home is at the end of a cul-de-sac in Lenah Valley on the Hobart city fringe. We are 5 minutes (4.5 km) from the North Hobart Restaurant strip, 7 minutes (6.5 km) from the city, 8 minutes (7 km) from Salamanca and the Hobart wharf areas. The Mona Museum is 15 minutes (9 km) in the other direction. We now seem to have a Wallaby who can often be sighted in our back yard. Check out the window every so often and you may see her. Getting AroundWe recommend that you have a car so you can reach our home with ease after exploring the many wonderful sites in Southern Tasmania. There is bus transport 300 metres from our home weekdays and 1 km from our home after hours and on weekends. We live at the top of a steep 1 km hill. The Metro (PHONE NUMBER HIDDEN) are the buses you can catch. Other Things to NoteWe have a tabby cat, Slinks, who you may see around the place. From 19 December until the end of January we have a four night minimum stay, except where there are gaps between the longer bookings.

The SpacePlease also check our social media page - The Cabin on Elanore, and our wordpress blog. We also have a web page with wix. It's a private and quirky little space that we're sure you'll love. Not luxurious but comfortable and homely, and at one of the cheapest rates close to Hobart. Yes, you have to go outside and down the 3 steps too the 'facilities' but you can enjoy the garden while you do it! And there is a light for night trips. Cabin and ensuite with shower, toilet and basin, plus Tastic type heater lamp & fan. We have expanded the area (in August 2016) by enclosing the Annexe, an area that was under the roof but open, and made it accessible from inside the cabin. It also now has inside wash up facilities with hot and cold running water and a proper sink. This area will be the kitchen section, making more room in the upper space. You are welcome use your computer via our WiFi. Please note the WiFi is not unlimited, if the monthly limit is exceeded it slows to dial up for you and for us. So please no huge downloads of movies or photos. Table and chairs for relaxing in the nice spots in our garden to use your computer or tablet devices. The original folding futon bed has been replaced by a real bed (September 2016, with Sri Lankan teak bedhead and base, with a proper mattress, plus two side tables. Much more comfortable for our stay without the previous incarnation's tendency to sag in the middle! We also have a single rollout bed with a similar mattress, but adding this does make the space very cramped, so only provided in special cases. Let us know if you wish to request it. There is a $10 charge for this service as it means extra linen and laundry. Guest AccessYou can access all of the garden and the Cabin, and we have one off street parking space for guest use. Interaction with GuestsIf we are home we are happy to see you and help with advice about the Cabin, places to go in Hobart and things to see. Come up and ring the doorbell! The NeighborhoodThe view of Mount Wellington! And the closeness of good food and shopping, and our location only 15 minutes from the capital of Tasmania's shopping heart, and 10 mins from the famous North Hobart Restaurant row (by car or taxi). Please check the Guidebook (top right above the price area), I have entered lots of eateries and places and attractions to see and visit. Getting AroundThe bus passes the end of the street, and it is a short (20 mins, all downhill) walk to Glenorchy where there is a bus interchange with express buses to the city centre. Other Things to NoteIf you are staying for a week or longer, please arrange a day with us when we can come in and change the linen and towels for you.

The SpaceWe have a large newly renovated home with beautiful expansive views down to the river Derwent. The home is on a very large internal block and we have vegetable gardens which supply all of our vegetables, as well as fruit trees, berries and laying chooks. Our home is too big for just the two of us, so we have divided off the end of our home to give visitors their own apartment. Out the back of the home is the entry to the suite through the laundry. This area has a covered patio and pretty courtyard which guests are free to share. Our guests have for their own private use two lovely sunny light filled rooms. One room remains as a bedroom and the other is now set up as a lounge dining area and kitchenette. Also a newly renovated bathroom and separate toilet for your sole use. The kitchenette has a small fridge, microwave, cutlery and crockery, toaster and electric kettle. Complementary tea, coffee, sugar, milk and salt and pepper are provided. There is a dining setting for two, a very comfortable two seater couch and flat screen TV with Foxtel on all channels and NETFLIX. At present there is no free to air TV. The bathroom has been fully renovated to a high standard and includes a large walk in shower, two person bath to relax in after a hard days sightseeing and heated towel rail. This accommodation is suitable for two people only. There is a covered patio area with outdoor setting and webber barbeque outside the entry to the suite. Our guests are welcome to share this area with us as well as a picnic table on a deck at the side of the house if you want to enjoy your coffee or glass of wine in the sun or while admiring the lights at night time. There is ample parking off the street for your car. For people with mobility issues you will be able to drive up our steep driveway to gain level access to the accommodation by prior arrangement. We enjoy meeting and getting to know people from other places but the amount of interaction is completely up to the guests. We have a Bengal cat which is quite shy of visitors and a dachshund puppy. Our neighbourhood is on a hill overlooking the Northern suburbs of Hobart and across the river. We are a six minute drive from the world renowned MONA, a three minute drive from our local supermarket and shopping centre with some good restaurants and cafes, with a shopping mall five minutes drive away. It takes thirteen minutes to drive to Hobart city, fifteen minutes to Salamanca, or ten minutes to the North Hobart restaurant strip. We are also close to the show grounds, the race course and the Derwent Entertainment Centre. The best option to make the most of your stay in beautiful Hobart would be to hire a car as there are many day trips to do from here. However if that is not an option there are buses a short walk away that can take you to the bus depot or it is a 2.5 km walk downhill. From the depot buses leave every 10 minutes into Hobart city. By prior arrangement and if we are free we would be happy to drop you off and pick you up from the bus depot, MONA or the city, and for a $30 fee from the airport. On Sundays we usually visit the Hobart Farm Gate market and you would be welcome to join us. We have a range of information brochures on things to see and do in and around Hobart. Having lived and worked here for over ten years we can also give some local advice on what we think you might enjoy experiencing. We have quite extensive experience of many cafes and restaurants in and around Hobart as well and would be happy to share that with you to assist with your dining out experiences! Guest AccessThere is a covered patio area with outdoor setting and webber barbeque outside the entry to the suite. There is ample parking off the street for your car. You will be given a key to the shared laundry area which is your entry with a $10 deposit. This deposit will be returned at the end of your stay when the key is returned. Interaction with GuestsWe enjoy meeting and getting to know people from other places but the amount of interaction is completely up to the guests. Our puppy Ruby is a miniature Dachshund and is very friendly. Our cat Milli is quite shy of visitors. The SpaceIt is a beautiful big house in the foothills of Mount Wellington. The creek in our backyard gives it a very natural feel and Wallabies like to relax near the creek during the day. Kids would love the space so would the adults. We have got a double size big bedroom furnished (with King Mattress) and easily sleeps 2-3 adults. We would provide a brand new 2000 W convection power heater which easily warms up the room in winter. We like meeting people from different cultures over a cup of tea (which is a bonus). Alternatively, you may relax in your room in case you desire to. We respect privacy and expect the same in return. Guest AccessEntrance would be through main door. There is also a separate entrance available in case of odd hours as per your convenience. Feel free to access our deck, the beautiful backyard and a bonfire besides the bush if you like to.
