The SpaceQuick Overview... Recently built Garden Studio (3mt x 6 mts) with queen sized loft bed situated in the rear veggie garden of my home in Marrickville. It’s an easy 15-20 minute Taxi ride to or from Sydney airport. Separate access at the side of the main house. Queens size bed in Loft Bedroom, accessed by ladder Good sized new Bathroom Well equipped Kitchenette Courtyard with BBQ. Cupboard and hanging space for clothes. Free Wifi available Includes breakfast hamper and a baked treat for your stay. MP3 connectivity to portable speakers Board games and playing cards available. Some More Detail…. New garden studio situated at the rear of my home, which is located in the Sydney suburb of Marrickville. With it's own bathroom and kitchenette the Garden studio has it's own access down a side path of the main house, which is also used by the household chickens to access the front garden. At night the path is lit with security sensor lights. It's a very quiet neighbourhood and the Garden Studio is a lovely sunny place to relax before or after sightseeing. Nice and quiet at night too if getting a good nights sleep is important. Transport is good, with a 15 minute taxi ride to or from the airport in moderate traffic. We are situated close to buses that take you to the city centre 8km's away. The nearest bus stop is a short 2 minute walk through the park at the end of the street. Petersham Train station is a 10 minute walk away. Marrickville train station is 15 min walk. Dulwich Hill train station is a 10 min walk away. An easy 15 minute walk away, Marrickville’s restaurant precinct is a great place to explore and enjoy affordable places to eat with a great diversity of food cultures, Vietnamese, Greek, Thai and Chinese and Japanese. Dullwich Hill which is an easy 10 minute walk away provides the closest local shops with a good supermarket for supplies and a couple of good cafes, some great deli's and a good bookshop. Every Sunday Marrickville’s popular organic market is open early until mid afternoon, a pleasant 15 minute walk it’s worth a visit. Newtown is a short 10min bus ride away, or a pleasant yet slightly longer walk, 30 mins. Famous for it’s wonderful restaurants, cafes and shopping. The Garden studio has only recently been built, with a modern bathroom and Kitchenette. The kitchenette is well equipped with a bar fridge, mircrowave, toaster, kettle, egg poacher and a toasted sandwich maker. There is also a BBQ in the backyard available for guests to use. You are welcome to forage in the veggie garden for fresh herbs and spinach. There is a TV and DVD player, with a selection of movies available. There is wifi for internet connection. Muesli, porridge, milk and bread is provided on arrival in the breakfast hamper. You can also enjoy a fresh egg thanks to Bette, Ingrid and Ivy the 3 household chickens, along with tea and coffee, homemade jam, and other toast spreads. The queen size bed is situated up a ladder in a loft area. It’s an easy ladder to climb, but a ladder just the same so it may not suit everyone. Sheets are provided with Duvet and an extra blanket and an Electric oil heater during winter. I work in the main house, so can be available if you need some direction, if privacy is more your thing we can make sure (for the most part) the back yard is all yours. The garden studio faces out on to the garden and then onto the photographic studio where I work, so there are people around in the main house during the week day business hours, weekends you would have the garden all to yourselves (except for when I may need to water the veggie patch). As a Sydney local, and having lived in Marrickville for over 10 years I’m well equipped to help with any questions you might have about the city or local area. If you are traveling with a car there is plenty of parking on the street, free all day. You are welcome to email me with any questions you might have. Look forward to hearing from you. Cath. Guest AccessGuests come in to the studio using their own access via a side path. Guest have use of the garden and outdoor table and chairs in the backyard. Interaction with GuestsI er on the side of privacy but if you feel like a chat or want info about the area or Sydney in general I'm happy to help.

The SpaceShort version: This is a great 3br house for summer with an 11-metre pool, and it may be available in late December 2015 and January 2016, to a non-smoking family, with good references and even better habits (we haven't quite decided our own plans yet). The more you tell us about yourselves, the more likely we are to agree. It would suit a couple with two non-toddler kids, but let us know if you need more beds and we'll see what we can do. We've had younger children stay but there are stairs to block off etc. It's in a quiet area of the very desirable inner-west, close to transport and shops with fast broadband and two Foxtel (cable TV) setups. Please don't email me asking the price - airbnb tells you that when you request dates. Long version: The house was built in 1919 for the Commissioner of Railways. It's in 'Californian bungalow' style – an Australian-specific description, since no-one in California knows what we mean – but it has high ceilings, art deco dark wood trim above and below, leadlight windows, polished timber floors. The small front garden leads to a verandah (one step) and front door, then an entrance hall that runs down the centre of the building, with bedrooms to the right and living rooms to the left, all on the same level. The carpeted front bedroom, the largest, has a king size double bed and built-in wardrobe, plus a large chest of drawers. The next bedroom, slightly smaller but also carpeted, has a double bed and built-in wardrobe, plus bookshelves and desk. These are the only carpeted rooms. The third bedroom has a sofabed. We sometimes lock this room off as storage if it's not needed. The lovely double lounge room has a long dining table that seats 12 comfortably, a piano, and two sofas in the other half, for watching the widescreen TV (cable, Blue Ray, even VHS). We put in a modern stainless steel kitchen about ten years ago that looks through an opening onto the second living area, with a couch and another widescreen modern TV set up (again full cable, DVD player etc). That back room opens to a balcony with herb pots and barbecue, and 12 wide wooden stairs down into the garden. The garden has an outdoor table and chairs and an 11-metre fenced pool that is maintained by a pool company. We use the converted garage as an office and home gym, and this is usually locked as it's my office. There is another garden area behind the pool. It’s a big backyard but it is fully enclosed with a brick fence two metre high, lockable gates and good privacy. It is perfectly safe for children because there is a lockable gate to the pool. A separate downstairs laundry with washing machine and dryer has an extra toilet and shower, which we mainly use after swimming. Bicycles may be available by arrangement. The bathroom upstairs was completely remodelled in 2008 with a fabulous ‘rainforest’ shower head (but no bath). High speed wireless internet works throughout the house. It's a great house, very comfortable and well maintained. The backyard in warmer months is superb for outdoor living, with pool and dinners under big umbrellas and palm trees, with lots of birds visiting the bird bath. Our suburb is 8kms from the centre of Sydney, in the fashionable and funky inner-western suburbs. The Italian quarter of Leichhardt is 1.5 km away, where there is a good cinema and lots of restaurants, but there are plenty of good restaurants and cafes right here. The NY Times recently devoted a page to the joys of eating ethnic food in our high street - Italian delis, Portuguese bread, Vietnamese Pho and much more. The train station is 10 minutes walk, and takes 15 minutes to the city; buses are 1 minute from the door. We are 25 minutes drive to the beaches, with lots of parks and other pools nearby. Our street is fairly quiet, with an interesting mix of people - migrants, yuppies, lots of young people with children. Safe and friendly. There are four schools in the street. The supermarket, butcher, bakeries, delis and bookshop etc are a five minute walk.

The SpaceA beautiful free standing federation home (with garden) In the heart of the inner west and only 15 minutes drive to the nearest beach, Petersham is a wonderful suburb to explore Sydney. Set up for families. This attractive 3 bedroom family home is my own, I am away every now and again for my own holiday (usually through airbnb)! and therefore leave it complete with everything you need. The space is suitable for anyone but if you have children you have the extra bonus of masses of kids stuff. Masses. My kids are 6, 4, 20 months. Newly renovated early federation home with clean paint, polished floors, open sunroom leading to a decking and a huge eat in Kitchen Diner coming straight out of a 1910 farmhouse home. Gorgeous garden. High ornate ceilings. Italian 1900 fireplaces. Indian rugs. This is my family home. The House Is huge. High ornate ceilings, 1900 italian fireplace in 2 of the bedrooms and the living room. The kitchen has it's own wood burning stove. Kitchen: a wood-burning stove sits proudly in the fireplace. A dryer hangs over head (1890 style). A Falcon 5 ring gas stove dominates the 'kitchen' end of the dinning kitchen and a butler double sink with ornate taps gives you the feel for how we think we are in the country (or in England)! The wooden bench top is over 150 years old and 3 inches thick. The wooden table and benches sit 6 large adults and one either end. We have a high chair at one end. Living Area Large plasma tv, dvd, telstra t box (films to rent by remote control). Lots of DVD's (lots of David Attenborough). Bathroom with powerful shower and a free standing cast iron bath. Garden Gorgeous grassed area in sun. And paved area to sit. Benches to sit outside. 2 planters full of tomatoes, cucumbers, peppers and other veg and herbs. Go and pick ripe tomatoes for your lunchtime salad. BBQ (webber) toys/climbing frame for toddlers or can be stored away if not needed. My home is perfect for families and is full and I mean FULL of toys, complete with play room. I have 3 kids - 1,3,5 and so any children you have will be safely 'off your hands' while you enjoy a wine or tea. Bedrooms Master: King Size bed with a fantastic $2k mattress. No expense spared when it came to purchasing this 2 months ago. It has changed my life! complete with quality cotton sheets. Bedroom 2. A wrought iron single with a single under it - so it can be 2 singles or a queen size bed. Sunny happy room. Bedroom 3. low bunk beds and a toddler bed. Sunroom: a place to lounge in the sun and read a book with a cuppa. Or a glass of wine. The doors are bi fold and open out onto the decking and lovely lush garden. There is no aircon - we are huge greenies - plus the federation style means the house can easily be kept cool during summer. Laundry: New washer and separate dryer. This is the second time I'll have put my own home on airbnb - but I have rented out a friends apartment for over a year and have 9 glowing references. Families welcome. For the youngsters. High chair. Potty. Huge amount of toys, DVD's and book shelves of kids books. And a complete play room. Along with games and toys in the living area there is a room just for imaginative play and the bedroom packed with books. WI-FI Record Player Teltra T box (movies) pause live TV DVD Plasma TV All beds complete with linen All Towels supplied FAMILIES WELCOME Residentail area. What we wouldn't enjoy is.. Smoking inside (plenty of space outside front and back). Pets (apart from a gold fish) ;-) Area Petersham is famous for it's portuguese chicken. Many coffee shops and restaurants within a 3 minute walk. TRANSPORT Petersham train station is a 7 minute walk. It's 5 stops to central station (and one more stop to Town Hall). Circular Quay (all Ferries) and the Opera House is therefore 30 minutes from our door. Bus : Bus stop 15 second walk from front door for both directions. Easy access to other suburbs. BEACHES: Easy drive 15 mins to the closest beach and-30 - 40 minute drive to 8 of Sydneys most famous beaches (Bondi for example). Zoo is easily accessible by ferry. Luna Park/is easily accessible by ferry and train. (one stop further than Circular Quay). Darling Harbour (Eateries, Imax, chinese gardens, Aquarium) is walking distance from Town Hall. Cinemas Newtown dendy (2 train stops, easy bus stop across the road) and broadway. Shopping Lots of food outlets nearby. Also fashion etc in the city, Newtown and Oxford Street. The Inner West is known for it's diversity. Enjoy wonderful parks, (including water parks for the kids) many pools (1 outdoor pool within walking distance and another new indoor pool 5 minute drive - or 30 minute walk). Fantastic live music venues - I can give you hints - my husband is a musician. Many wonderful eateries (great restaurants and coffee shops)- Haberfield is Italian, Marrickville is Asian, Newtown is a smorgasbord! Wooli creek reserve is a 5 minute drive from us. Parking If you are driving there is plenty of space on the road outside ours. We do have a garage but it's filled with kids stuff. Guest AccessEverything. We keep our office locked and that's it. Help yourself to bits and pieces -nothing worst than needing a bit of ketchup or mustard and having to buy a jar ... All here ... Interaction with GuestsAs much or little as you need. The NeighborhoodPortuguese neighbourhood/ and cosmopolitan Newtown, Marrickville (and the organic markets in a Sunday waling distance from the house) Getting AroundLots of public transport. If we leave our car guests have rented it. Train 7 mins. Bus 40 meters away. Easy to get to the easter show and the city. (both 20 minutes either direction). The SpaceIf you want to stay somewhere local to everything - a five minute walk to the train, the light rail and the bus directly outside the apartment, this is the place to stay - you can be anywhere in the Inner West or city in 15 minutes. On the border with Petersham, just up the road is arguably one of the best pizza places in Sydney (try the Nutella pizza) and of course a little further up the road you have the marvellous Sweet Bellem cake store and other great coffee spots and restaurants. This is the heart of the Inner West, so expect the usual noise from traffic, planes and trains, but think how much you'll enjoy staying in a space where the resident's peace and quiet is truly valued (and enforced!) our apartment is very peaceful. Guest AccessYour own room, leading on to a private part of the large balcony, shared bathroom and of course plenty of space to sit and chill out, watch movies from our very extensive collection, or enjoy a coffee or a snack in the kitchen. The whole apartment can be available during school holidays. Interaction with GuestsHappy to help out, dinner can be included if you're in for the evening. The NeighborhoodLewisham is really close to everything, every variety of public transport is within a 5 minute walk. Getting AroundLewisham West Light Rail Stop Lewisham Train station Bus stop right outside apartment going in to city. Other Things to NoteI may have mentioned it already, but we are in the inner city, which means traffic sounds, planes overhead sometimes, and the usual clamour you can only get in such a densely populated part of the world. That said, for sheer convenience with a very reasonable pricetag attached, you'll love the ease with which you can get around.

The SpaceThis apartment has a large, newly renovated kitchen with open plan living area. With a short walk to the train, bus or tram, it's centrally located to the CBD and Newtown. It's also a short walk away from a few popular inner west eating spots. The apartment has two rooms, which have a double bed in each. It can comfortably sleep four people. It does not have a balcony or an outdoor area, but it's approximately 10 minutes walk away from Petersham Park and Fanny Durack Aquatic Centre. The apartment does receive some morning sun, but as it's a ground floor unit it's shielded from the sun in the afternoon and evening. It being a ground floor unit also means there are no stairs to get in and out of the apartment. The building was built in the 1960s-70s, and all external features and the bathroom are original. The SpaceThe two-bedroom flat adjoins a house that is part of my rental agreement, so the tenants in the front house are my friends, as well as the other tenant in the back flat. However, most of us will be away during January so you will find it quiet. Guest AccessThe bedroom, plus kitchen, bathroom and lounge room (shared with one other tenant). Sometimes the tenants in the front house come to watch movies with us in the lounge room (big projector). You're welcome to use that, and to read our books (excessive collection). Use the courtyard, which connects the flat to its laneway entry. It's sunny and there are tables and lounges and a big garden along the side. Also use the shed: we've kitted it out with desks and craft supplies; it's a kind of office for creative writers (which is what we are). Interaction with GuestsI'll be away January 7th till February 3rd, so if your stay overlaps with that, I'll meet you and show you around our ace neighbourhood. If not, I'll supply linen and towels and wardrobe space and books to read, and I'll write you a list of local places to visit that you wouldn't encounter reading a guidebook. The NeighborhoodIn Marrickville, there are many warehouses with radical arts events, as well as good coffee, decent bars with live music, tasty Vietnamese food. Heaps of cyclists. You can get to Newtown or Enmore in a few minutes' walk (or bus--we live near a main route) and see some live entertainment or watch some lovely strange people. Petersham, a few minutes the other way, has top Portuguese food. In the area in general: lots of bookshops, parks, cycleways, friendly people. Getting AroundAddison Road is a few metres away, and regular buses take you towards the city. If you walk ten minutes along Addison Road you get to Enmore Road, a major thoroughfare that later becomes King Street, Newtown. If you walk ten minutes in another direction you get to Petersham (or Stanmore) station, and trains to the city take fifteen minutes.
