The SpaceYou'll have your own private room and will have a private full bath. Room sleeps one on a twin mattress. Guest AccessFeel free to use the kitchen, dining, living room and laundry area and any utensils you need. Interaction with GuestsCasually, if you need a map of the area, or pointers on where to venture I'm always around or just a text away. I work from home and I'm around a lot during the morning. I tend to venture out in the evenings. The NeighborhoodMy home is in a working class neighborhood. The home is only 5 years old. It's generally relaxing during the day, calmer. A bit more noise in the evening on weekends. I'm near a Community Center that is rented out for party's from time to time. Getting AroundIt's best if you travel by car. This is a rural area. We have horse farms close by but you're just a five minute drive to Target, Ross, Marshalls, and many chain restaurants such as Lone Star, Panera, Five Guys, Cheeseburger in Paradise, Outback Steakhouse, Sushi and Japanese Restaurants as well as nice mom & pops like the Blue Wind Cafe (all homemade and fresh with wonderful wine selection). I hope when you're here you can enjoy some of the greatest seafood on the planet- Solomon's Island is a great place for seafood !! Try Stoney's Fisherman's Wharf or The Lighthouse Inn. The Tiki Bar is always a hot spot during the summer months. Other Things to NoteI own a 6 year boxer named Bella who has a deep bark but is always ready to let you pet her. She's a bit spoiled.

There's no cable TV at Massum Eyrie; no satellite TV either. Not for those in search of a boardwalk or a hyper-connected getaway. But, for those who want an amazingly secluded, simply elegant waterfront retreat on the Chesapeake Bay, this one's for you. In a concession to modern reality, wireless internet (thank you, T-Mobile), digital over-the-air broadcasting (really) and streaming entertain programming are available - if you must. Water sparkles like diamond as far as the eye can see. Pelicans and ducks swim by while a heron squawks as it takes flight. Behind, find forest dotted with ferns, a resident owl, bald eagles and more. Not to forget, Gertie, our resident groundhog. No other homes anywhere in view. There is truly only one place like the Log Cabin at Massum Eyrie. Beautifully appointed and renovated while remaining a true log cabin. The Bay is calm...or waves are crashing, the extremes are simply astounding. Watch storms from the expansive views in the master bedroom. Read in bed or get out the binocular to see nature go by. About the Log Cabin itself: the cabin has 3 bedrooms and 3 bath. 2 bedrooms, 2 baths plus a small study along with the kitchen, living and dining room and a screened porch make up the main level. Upstairs is a private, amazing master bedroom suite complete with a ball and claw foot soaking tub. A glass of champagne, bubble bath and the slipper tub and the lucky woman (or couple) staying upstairs might be MIA. The log cabin is located just over a mile from the main road. Turn onto the hard pack clay road, wind your way through the forest and feel the stress melt away. Once you arrive, 4 bicycles are ready for your including the mile-long ride exploring the shaded road in through the woods (additional bicycles can be rented upon request). An updated, open floor plan kitchen and dining area with incredible views while preparing meals make it a pleasure for the chefs. It's hard to leave but if you do several locally-owned restaurants offer dining options along with virtually every imaginable chain restaurant (kids?). Go south for marinas, history and beaches. Turns south on Route 235 and drive south to the tip of Southern Maryland at Pt. Lookout State Park, which is full of history including a stint and a prisoner of war camp in the Civil War. One of the oldest colonies in the US, the St. Mary's City Area was the original capital of Maryland until the 1660s when the capital was moved to Annapolis. While you are down that way, access is provided to our private sandy beach near Pt. Lookout for Massum Eyrie guests who prefer wading in via sand over scaling the bluff at the Log Cabin. Visit Solomon's Island or make an early evening drive to St. George's Island and have dinner at the Ruddy Duck, a restaurant and bar with water views left and right. If you choose, bring our own kayaks - at your own risk. Be caution, the water can be rough in this location and shuffling over a rock revetment wall is necessary to launch the kayaks. Read, write or rest in seclusion - this is the place for you. Water views like from a boat. It's almost impossible to find a more expansive view from land anywhere else around. Find a piece of paradise at the Log Cabin at Massum Eyrie.
