The SpaceThe space has a total of 5 rooms, of which 4 are fully habitable.
The per-night rentals for the entire home are as follows
PEAK (March, April, May, November, December, January, and holidays: 24,000 a night.
OFFPEAK (June to October, February): (PHONE NUMBER HIDDEN) a night
The rate is for 3 rooms that could accommodate 15 people on beds and mattresses.
For an additional 4th room (8 guests), we charge P10,000 on top of the monthly rate.
It has a well-appointed living room and dining area, a huge kitchen, an additional kitchen outside the premises, a pool (3-6 feet), and three bathrooms (one is ensuite).
The style is contemporary Asian, with nice bright yellow walls and a happy, chill ambience. It has hints of Balinese (I happened to buy interesting stuff I picked up during my stay in Bali last 2014).
There are two gazebos outside the house where guests can enjoy the quiet Batangas breezes, and a side gate that leads all the way to the sea (via a one-minute walk through a grassy path).
A barbecue pit is close to these gazebos, and an outdoor shower is also ready for washing up right after taking a dip in the sea. I'm trying to grow a little herb garden at the back, plus a couple of flowering plants, which I hope you'll get to see, weather permitting.
A room upstairs has a terrace for that added view of the property.
This house is available to be rented (up to a week).
It has a designated wi-fi access area which could accommodate a limited number of gadgets. We'd strongly encourage our guests to share our moderately robust (but temperamental) signal with other guests! :)
It's great for a family or a group of travelers who will practically have the house to themselves, or for couples who could occupy individual rooms, or for backpackers! Guest AccessGuests have access to every nook and cranny in the house.
Guidance and all-around help will come from my trusted gardener and custodians. Interaction with GuestsAs I am staying in Manila most of the time, there would be great chances for me to interact with my guests during the weekends. I respect my guests' privacy and their need for some peace and quiet--so I intentionally didn't add a TV set or a videoke in there.
Apologies, though, if some neighbors start to belt tunes from their own sing-along sets--the Philippines is karaoke country! It could be a great idea to join in while having an unplanned drink with the locals. It could be fun! :) The NeighborhoodThe town is called Lian, a sleepy fishing town turned into a beach resort area popular in the 1950s to the 1980s as the perfect quick escape from Manila (3 hours drive from the city).
The house, however, sits in the rather quiet area of the town (as the other side is quite busy, and dotted with resorts big and small).
So expect a lot of rustic views, simple folks playing basketball barefoot, a simple beach (rocky in places, grey-sandy in other areas), and floating bamboo huts (called "balsa") you could rent, where you could bring meat or fish to grill while taking a nice cool dip far from the shores, or appreciating the sunset from another angle.
Welcome to no-frills beach living! Getting AroundPublic transport is available from Manila (there are daily vans bound for Calatagan in the Metro Rail Taft Avenue Station).
After getting down the train, just look for the MetroPoint mall--there you could find the van terminal.
Ask the driver to take you to Binubusan (there's a school at a corner), where you could take a tricycle to bring you to the house. Our barangay is called Ligtasin.
Inform the tricycle driver to take you to the basketball court near the Laurel property. The house is called "The Lily" (I named it in honor of my beautiful mother!). It is a few meters away from that basketball court (The Lily is easy to recognize--it has a terra cotta roof).
Getting around is by walking or onboard tricycles. Quite convenient! It is some minutes away from key areas like public markets, a church, small eateries here and there.
Don't be afraid to ask (but listen to your instincts!). Other Things to NoteYou may order breakfast ala carte from our staff.
