      Nestling on a hillside, the converted stone barn and swimming pool have breath-taking panoramic views. The barn has been beautifully restored retaining its traditional rustic character and is set in 7 acres of meadowland in a secluded rural location. Sleeping up to 8 adults + 3 babies, designed for families & friends, the rooms are both spacious and comfortable. The gite, private pool, dining terraces and gardens are all south facing and on clear days the views from the balcony and pool area stretch out as far as the PyrĂŠnĂŠes Mountains some 270kms away. Ecological features include: solar heated hot water for the gite & reed-bed waste water treatment. Also: solar pipe boost to the swimming pool raising water temperatures on sunny days. To further enhance your relaxing holiday, the swimming pool also benefits from: a saltwater system, a barbeque area and a pool house with changing room, wc & summer kitchen. Everything you need for dining alfresco next to the pool! During High and Mid season, the changeover day is Saturday arriving from 4pm and departing by 10am. In Low season we are flexible on dates and arrival times. Hot water, heating and fire-wood are all included. NOTE: The outdoor swimming pool is open from 1st June to 30 September. The pool is equipped with passive solar heating so may also be open in May and October - depending on the weather. Gîte Le Combal is situated just 8km (5miles) from the picturesque village of Najac and its medieval hill-top castle. The holiday property is on the outskirts of the smaller village of St-André-de-Najac which has a very good restaurant and café (Relais Mont Le Viaur), a general grocer's shop, post office and music bar. All within an easy 15 minute stroll from the property. ACTIVITIES St-André-de-Najac is great for outdoor activities such as: hiking and walks in the adjacent chestnut woods, cycling on the lanes, mountain biking on woodland tracks and tennis on the village court. Pottery classes & mini golf are available just outside the village. Lagarde-Viaur is just 2km (1.2miles) from the holiday cottage for: swimming in the river Viaur, fishing and rock-climbing. During summer evenings, on the banks of the Viaur river, there is a welcoming café/restaurant with live Jazz. Nearby Laguépie has a campsite with cafe, childrens playgrounds, waterslide and crazy golf -all open to the public. Najac, awarded 'one of the most beautiful villages in France', has excellent canoeing, fishing, a tree top zip-wire adventure course, rock-climbing, mountain bike rental and horse riding. Explore the medieval cobbled streets, old buildings, boutique shops, bars and restaurants. The climb up to its church and ancient fortress is well worth the effort. SHOPPING Najac has a good bakery, newsagents and gift shops. Laguépie and La Fouillade villages have more choice for food shopping and are less than 10 minutes drive from the property. Both villages have a good butchers, bakeries, grocers, chemists, newsagents and small foodstores. La Fouillade village also benifits from a reasonably sized Intermarché supermarket with petrol station. A Larger selection of shops and big supermarkets can be found at the town of Villefranche-de-Rouergue -20 minutes drive north of the property. Flexible dates in Mid and Low seasons. Ideal base for walkers, cyclists, outdoor pursuits & nature lovers.

      Away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life, recharge your batteries in this beautiful stone country cottage nestled in the Gorges of Aveyron. Characteristic original oak beams and stone features from 1809, yet all modern facilities inside. Fields and forest, home to birds, butterflies, horses, goats, owls, squirrels and deer, - yet yards away the Viaur river winds its way quietly west through stunning chalk cliffs to the local villages. Two double bedrooms, (master with private toilet), lounge with wood burning stove, modern kitchen, bathroom with shower, washbasin, toilet and bidet. Wifi throughout. Two outdoor terraces and large garden for barbecues and outdoor games. Visitors enjoy walking, picnics, cycling, horse riding, fishing, swimming in the river, kayaking, sketching and painting in this artists' paradise. Organic food markets, cafĂŠ's, bars and restaurants, local vineyards, "brocantes" (antique markets) and nearby historic chateaux and medieval hilltop cities beckon.         Our house is the ideal location for families to get away from all the hustle and bustle of life. It is set along a valley 1Km from the nearest village and 0.5 km from the nearest farm. The river and beachside ( 20 m) provides a wonderful place to swim, sunbathe and relax. It is perfect for getting back to nature and forgetting the pressures of modern life. The balcony is perfect for watching the world go by and spotting wild life.There is a wood burning stove if it gets cool in the evening. The house is situated next to the River Viaur one of the cleanest and best fishing rivers in France. There is abundant wild life and bird life and the area is ideal for those that love the outdoors. The house is on the border of the Tarn and the Aveyron and is within easy reach of many medieval towns villages and bastides. There is a bar /restaurant in the nearby village. It is and 8 kms from the stunning village of Najac and its castle (it is classified as one of the most beautiful villages in France). It is 20 km from the large Bastide market town of Villefranche de Rougerie. Accommodation The house it self is on 2 levels. The upper level is of wood construction and has a balcony on 3 sides. Kitchen: small with sink unit and cooker. The river is fantastic for swimming, boating, canoeing, fishing or just relaxing and watching the wild life. There are plenty of GR walking routes and cycle tracks. The area is one of outstanding beauty and significantly quieter than similar areas such as the Dordogne. There are steep wooded valleys and gorges with beautiful hill top villages and towns. Places to visit: Najac: A “Beaux Village” with a medieval castle, cobbled streets and winding Main Street. (8km) Cordes le Ciel: A beautiful hill top town looking out over the plains to Gaillac (20km) St Anton de noble Val: A medieval market town on the banks of the Averyron, just before the famous gorges. (20km) Villefranche de Rougerie: large medieval market town (20km) Monesties: Ancient village (10km) Gaillac: The town is at the centre of the Golden Triangle producing a range of delicious Gaillac wines. (30km) Albi: Centre of administration for the Tarn and home to the museum of Toulouse Lautrec. Sight seeing and shopping. An amazing 13th century cathedral (30km) Belcastle: One of the prettiest villages in France with an 11th century castle and bridge. (35km) Activities The local area and the wider area is a haven for outdoor activities: Swimming: At the house and at many places along the rivers. There is a large pool complex and diving board at Najac and a pool at the local campsite. Tennis: Free court with the house at St Andre de Najac 3Kms away. 8 courts at Najac. Walking: From the house or routes are available from all tourist information. Cycling: Hilly but rewarding, numerous routes are marked and maps are available from tourist information. Rafting and Canoeing: there are 2 old canoes at the house or there is commercial rafting and canoeing from Najac or St Anton de Noble Val. Rock Climbing: There are fixed ropes about 1km up river from the house. Horse riding: There are several places around Najac. Fishing: From the house Sailing: Lake with boat hire 15 km from the house. Cap Decourvez: Purpose built complex with skate boarding, down hill skiing, water skiing, toboggan run, waterpark and many more activities. (30 mins drive…just north of Albi.) During the summer months there are many fetes and festivals held in the local villages and towns. Getting There: Ryanair have daily flights from Stanstead to Rodez (1hrs drive from the house) Many different flights to Toulouse (1 ½ hrs from the house) It is about 9hrs drive from Calais

        The Space. Entièrement restauré à partir d'une ferme en ruine, Le Puech de Canabral a été méticuleusement restaurée à son ancienne gloire comme une maison traditionnelle en pierre de grand caractère et un air résolument cosy. La propriété à un parking privé et des marches en granit mènent directement dans le premier étage où les murs de pierres apparentes et poutres en bois conservent autant de caractéristiques d'origine que possible. Une cheminée en pierre entoure le poêle à bois où le four à pain de la ferme se trouvait autrefois. Divers coins, recoins et la maçonnerie environnante avec des carreaux de sol de couleur marron accentuent l'utilisation judicieuse des matériaux de récupération. A l'étage, le décor est tout aussi attrayant avec des couleurs pastel et un parquet qui complètent le tableau avec les poutres apparentes dans les combles. Ingénieusement sculptés dans la roche deux des trois lits au rez de chaussée dans la chambre triple ont un attrait particulier pour les familles avec de jeunes enfants. La maison se dresse majestueusement sur un affleurement de granit. La terrasse surélevée au bord de la piscine offre encore un autre endroit merveilleux pour admirer les paysages bucoliques que entoure la propriété. Guest AccessLa maison est entièrement équipée. Le gîte, piscine privée, salle à manger terrasses et jardins sont tous face au sud et par temps clair la vue depuis le balcon et la piscine étirer jusqu'aux Pyrénées quelques 270kms loin. Caractéristiques écologiques comprennent: eau chaude solaire pour le gîte, le traitement roselière des eaux usées, des produits de nettoyage écologique et le recyclage facilité. Pour améliorer encore votre séjour de détente, la piscine extérieure est chauffée et bénéficie de: un système d'eau salée, un coin barbecue et un pool house avec vestiaire, cuisine wc et été.             This beautifully renovated and superbly appointed home offers a wonderfully peaceful and relaxing holiday experience. Set in its own grounds, it has lovely south facing rural views perfect for dining and relaxing in the sun or shade overlooking the private heated infinity pool (12m x 5m with a constant depth of 1.3m throughout, heated by heat exchanger). The house is tastefully decorated and furnished to a very high standard.

            This house occupies a very secluded position but enjoys easy access to Najac, St Andre De Najac, and La Fouillade. It sits in its own grounds and has a private heated swimming pool with a large terrace at one end enjoying uninterrupted views over the valley of the river Serene, a tributary of the Aveyron. It has a private garden and parking, a courtyard area with a pond in one corner, a Ping-Pong table and a barbecue area. Petanque sets and board games are also available as is a hammock under the shade of the trees if you want to spend a less active afternoon. Bicycles are available for hire in Najac and other local beauty spots to explore the nearby Aveyron or beyond. The property sits adjacent to the river Serene but is also very close to the Aveyron and Viaur rivers. The river Lot is also within easy driving distance A tennis court can be booked in nearby St Andre De Najac. There are lots of facilities within easy reach such as market towns, restaurants, horse riding, canoeing, hot-air ballooning, scenic walks. Slightly further afield places such as the famous bridge at Millau, St Cirq Lapopie, Cordes sur Ciel, Roquefort, Rocamadour, Penne, St Antonin Noble Val, Gorges Du Tarn are all within easy reach. The vineyards of Gaillac are to the south and Cahors to the north.

Situated on the outskirts of the incredibly peaceful hamlet Saint André de Najac, built of granite blocks, with a large flowery terrace and steps leading down to the pool (12x5x1.2-1.8 m depth ) with roman steps and underwater lighting, and to the large courtyard, with horses in the field that belongs to the property. La Pendarie is in a peaceful, relaxing country setting. The welcoming owners (a Dutch couple -51 & 64-), speak fluent English, French, German and Spanish. They live in the barn next to the farm house and - if wanted - will help you to explore this fascinating area.

The house is tastefully decorated and furnished to a very high standard. We ask for a booking deposit of 30% and a security deposit of ÂŁ500 payable with the balance due no less than 8 weeks prior to the rental period (bank transfers preferred please). Please also note that the booking deposit is non-refundable and you are strongly advised to take out holiday insurance. Other dates may be available outside of the booking period. Please get in touch for availability. Please note that check-in time is after 4:30 pm and that check-out time is 10:00am. The house is within striking distance of many historical and interesting villages. A short drive will take you to the medieval Bastide village of Najac (one of “Les Plus Beaux Villages de France”), and it’s 13th Century castle. Twenty minutes away is the lively town of Villefranche-de-Rouergue, famous for it’s Thursday morning market and historical buildings. During the summer months it is host to a street festival and many concerts and theatrical events. Further afield is St Antonin Noble Val, location for the 2001 film Charlotte Gray and the magical Cordes-sur-Ciel dating from the 13th Century. St Andre de Najac itself has a very good and reasonably priced restaurant - Relais Mont le Viau - which also has a small shop for everyday needs. There is a supermarket within 10 minutes drive. Le Pradel is a beautifully restored stone farmhouse with extensive grounds and it's own heated swimming pool. Situated on the edge of a small peaceful hamlet in the heart of the countryside it is ideal for all ages. It has a large kitchen, dining room, two reception rooms, three bathrooms (two ensuite) and cloakroom.

More shops and nice restaurants are at La Fouillade (6 km), Laguepie (8 km) or at the very picturesque Najac (6.5 km). In La Fouillade there is a big Inter Marche. Najac clings to the rocky outcrop overlooking the splendid gorges of Aveyron river and is particularly lovely at night with illuminated castle. A wide choice of shops at Villefranche de Rouergue (24 km) with the famous and large Thursday market in the fine arcaded square. Almost every day of the week there are markets in one of the villages around Saint Andre de Najac. Throughout the summer, brocantes are held in different villages nearby. This beautiful region has sunny green hillsides, cool valleys with a Mediterranean feel, and unique light. Take a nice walk down to the Serene river (at 700 m from La Pendarie) with its nice cascades, walk or mountain bike parts of the grande randonnee which passes by La Pendarie or take a ride and visit the towns such as Najac (only 6.5 km!) or Cordes-sur-Ciel (23 km), art village in-the-sky, perched on a hilltop and with charming narrow winded streets and houses,. And do not forget to go the to market in medevial St Antonin-Noble-Val where the movie The Hundred-Foot Journey was filmed! It is only 30 minutes driving. Its fine limestone cliffs are worth admiring as well. You can go swimming in the Viaur river (2 km). Canoeing on the Aveyron river through its gorges, starting point Laguepie (8 km). Golf at Albi (48 km) or visit the mellow city with its world famous pink-red cathedral and Toulouse-Lautrec collection. Do some wine tasting in at different wine chateaux in the Gaillac region. Rocamadour is at reach (100 km).

The center of the largest concentration of villages classified as 'the most beautiful in France': With Najac located in an exceptional natural site. Ropes and its medieval atmosphere, its Gothic architecture and museums. Belcastel with its castle, its medieval bridge and rated restaurant. Albi classified Unesco, with its Episcopal City and Sainte Cécile Cathedral. The Gorges of the Aveyron and its most beautiful villages, but also Villefranche de Rouergue, Rocamadour, Saint Cirq, Roquefort, Conques etc ... Ideal for relaxing, sightseeing, sports (rowing, riding, hiking, biking etc ...). Traditional festivals, traditional markets, near many listed restaurants.

              La Châtaigne is a gite that is completely surrounded by oak and chestnut forests in the stunning Viaur Valley on the edge of the small, quiet hamlet Saint-Dalmaze. La Châtaigne has been recently renovated and can sleep up to 6 people, with 2 comfortable and light bedroooms, a spacious living room, a bathroom and a spacious kitchen (with a table) opening onto a big wooden terrace which has superb views over the garden, the organic farm opposite and the swimming pool. The gite opens onto a south facing enclosed courtyard which is perfect for eating out under a parasol -where there is also a yoga studio and two extra bathrooms which you can use for an agreed price with the owners. We are currently building a swimming pool (5x5 metres) with a surrounding wooden terrace which is below the large wooden terrace from the kitchen. The owners can use this pool but the clients have the priority. The nearest village Laguepie is 6 km away, with restaurants, 2 small supermarkets a news agents, bakery and a butchers. We are ideally situated in the heart of the Midi-Pyrenees within close proximity of the famous and beautiful villages of Najac and Cordes which are only 15 minutes from the gite. Also, Albi and its impressive Cathedral is less than a 40 minutes drive away. We live in the house next to the gite so we are always here if you need us.

              Regional Dovecote character with its secadou and bikes ATVs. Gite located near Najac, in one of the most beautiful villages in Midi-Pyrenees. Najac is a medieval village. This cottage is the ideal place to discover the country houses of Rouergue, go hiking trails and take the road to St Jacques de Compostela. It's also discover the local cuisine: country market every Wednesday evening and Thursday morning NAJAC in Villefranche de Rouergue. The cottage is situated in a quiet and close to shops 3km from the fouillade.

              The house is situated next to the Viaur River one of the cleanest and most beautiful rivers in France. The setting is tranquil with the nearest habitation over ¼ mile away. There is abundant wild life and bird life and the area is ideal for those that love the outdoors. The house is on the border between the Lot and the Aveyron and is within easy reach of many medieval towns villages and bastides. It is 1 km from the nearest village and bar /restaurant and 8 kms from the beautiful village of Najac and its castle (it is classified as one of the most beautiful villages in France). It is 20 km from the large market town of Villefranche de Rougerie. Accommodation The house it organised on 2 levels. The upper level is of wood construction and has a balcony on 3 sides. Kitchen: small with sink unit and cooker. Lounge/dining room: large room with table to seat 8, double bed settee (sleep an additional 2 people) and 2 arm chairs, fridge and wood burning stove. 2 double bedrooms: with a double bed in each 1 Single bedroom: with a single bed (All the bedrooms are small) Bathroom: with shower Down stairs Large living area/kitchen: equipped kitchen area with cooker, sink, microwave, fridge and washing machine. Large oak table to seat 8, dresser and store area Double bedroom: with double bed and wardrobe The house is simple but well equipped and there is plenty of space . The house can sleep 7 people Outside: there is a large fenced area around the house to give it a feeling of security and privacy. There is plenty of room for parking and a large BBQ house at the bottom of the garden. Through the gate, the river and beach area are about 50 meters from the house. The river is fantastic for swimming, boating, canoeing, fishing or just relaxing and watching the wild life. Linen is not provided
